South Fork Salmon River, Idaho | Kayak Overnight

One of the best rivers in Idaho. 3.4 feet, Forgot to hit record button at Elk Creek Rapid (V) and Devil's Creek (V). We started on the Secesh River, making the trip into a C shaped loop and adding some more whitewater and making it over 60 river miles.

we ran it in a raft in 83 84 and 85. the water was higher and not so clear. wood oars, wood frame, no self bailer. one rowed and one bailed most of the way. most memorable trips of river running lifetime.

Nice video with the drone footage. One beautiful canyon. IF I ever go back in there it will have to be on a cataraft, but it would still be worth it. So many runs up stream of it. Secesh, WE Fk of S Fk, et al. and definitely one of the best drainages in the known world!
