It looks totally like PES 6 with updated squads, adboards and kits. Still wonderful game which shows how powerfull PES 6 and that old Konami engine was.

God damn, those graphics could pass as an early PS3 title. Crazy how good developers got at making PS2 games as fully optimized as possible. What a great sendoff to a fantastic console

The era of 2008-2014 of these PS2 versions was just incredible. I waited PES 2012 to switch to PS3. PES 2008-2011 for sure was better on PS2 ! Of course PES 5 and 6 was better in gameplay, and the fact is the gameplay still changed over the years in PS2.
PES 4 to 2014 on PS2 still miles better than PES 2014 PS3 but not better than PES 2015 PS3.
Crazy fact that PS2 Pes Games are better than on PS3 or PS4. The spirit was completely different
in my opinion the ps2 version of pes 2014 is one of the best soccer game ever. on ps2 the game is close to the excellent pes6 but with some few improvements.
If my PS5 had backwards compatibility I would still play this. PES games on the PS2 were the best thing ever!!!!

The best version of PES on PS2 is PES 8/9 in my opinion. It just seemed like the ball physics were better and the AI was more realistic. I also preferred the lighting and textures. It captured a better atmosphere. The later ones on PS2 were smoother though but they could have done more with it, maybe mix in international management with master league. They should have kept world tour mode too but updated the challenges.
After PES 10 everything went downhill

You know, I wouldn't complain that much for it always being the same game if they had POLISHED the (literally) SCARY faces A LITTLE BIT MORE, enabled us to name stadiums for the teams and (at least somewhat) interact with players in ML (like in the new-gen versions)! I also forgot, same for the PSP.

i like fifa 14 because there are skills and some movements are realistic but i like pes 14 too because the fans and the stadium and the face are more realistic

Hey mate what settings are you using on PCSX2? I'm trying to get this game going without stutters/slowdowns but I can't seem to get there. Yours looks real smooth, probably you have a great GPU? I thought this was too old of a game to need a badass GPU for smooth play...
