Those 80's tones sound particularly good in a Mix. I recently discovered that the Low/High EQ on the HX Stomp is a quick and easy way to "liven up" Presets. Thanks
Those are two awsome tones. Particularly the clean. Gets me most of the way to the sound of the guitar on the "theme from Moonlighting" by Al Jarreau.

As a Helix user, I'm delighted to see this. The Axe Fx may be your main platform, but you can do (and have done) some great stuff with the HX. Love the 80's vibe on both of these.
I'm going to try post some regular content for the Axe, HX and QC going forward. All the tones, all the time!

For a guy which I pretty much associated with "Fractal-only" your HX patches sound amazing. Especially this Rockman, but also the REVV you linked. And btw: Your TV Mix is still my go to IR of all besides owning OH, York and the likes. It just ticks some boxes I want in a high gain IR.

Awesome presets man! The stomp is the brains to my board. I have presets for going amp-less, presets with my amp, presets with my amp and going direct at the same time. It’s such a useful tool for any professional guitarist I feel.

@@LeonTodd sounds fantastic. 80's tones are just dreamy! Would you consider the HX stomp as something you could gig with? I mean are the amp, cab and effects modules good enough to where if you just couldn't take your big amp with you, the HX would do?
A lot of people are comparing it to the Ampero II stomp, I suppose because of the size and price
@@allboutthemojo yeah definitely. My usual rig is a Fractal FM3 or FM9, and while I prefer the FAS amp modelling and general workflow I could definitely get by with the stomp if needed.

I also had a rockman back in the day. It actually quit working and I think I gave it away at the time because I wasn't recording and I had a cool fender amp and a Marshall at the time to practice with and back then you cranked it to get that feel.
God that strat makes me drool brother. My strat has 3 SA EMGs I love, but I swear if I ever go with passives it will be those Suhrs like you have in that strat. ♥️🤘♥️
Put a new pickup ( Duncan Custom) in my Charvel Preditor ( my current main squeeze 😂) but I had to stop before I could get it strung up. I was able to insure it worked though. So if this one doesn't work for this guitar I'll go with my other old stand by the DiMarzio Super 3 or Super Distortion and be done with it.
I've been going down the boost and drive rabbit hole to push my tube amp or to just give me all the gain on the clean channel so I can play at lower volumes.

Sounds great Leon. I went back and watched your video called Ultimate '80s Rack Tones with Pedals, in which you get some great sounds, but I thought you did another video using the Eventide Micropitch with one or two other pedals. Can't find it now unfortunately. I remember watching something like that and thinking that I'd try to reproduce those sounds if I get a Stomp.

In the 80's wasn't the pitch before the chorus? Like pitch to split the signal to stereo than into a stereo inputs and outputs chorus. Great playing! Regards.

Hey Todd! Nice 80s Clean Tone. I woukd love to see you try to reproduce the Rockman x100 tones.
There cool. The Stomp has some of the same aspects and effects the HX Effects which I own. But the HX Effects is better if you just want the effects to run into an amp to me. Great effects, ability to switch your amps channels with changing your snapshots, excellent switching setup in a reasonably small unit that you can run with other pedals besides if you want. I use mine with my Mesa amp. The stomp is cool though in a smaller unit and is packed with lots of the same stuff.

i'm always contemplating about going multi-fx to give me these compressed lush cleans without having to do a lot of step dancing on my board while switching from chunky dry sounds.

I combined both your presets. I just took out the chorus and use the pitch shift cause it works well enough but you could probably just use them interchangeably. Snap 1: clean with the cab ir cause it doesn’t change the sound that much, Snap 2: distorted be, Snap 3: is the solo with the delays. I also turn saturation off and turn hbe on

It might be a good idea for me to get a modeler. My old school 80’s retro rack is much like the Millenium Falcon. Not 100%reliable at all times and can put you in a jam. It may require a Wookie to hit it with a wrench a few times to get it going but when it goes into hyperdrive and the MP1 and the Quad are cookin’ and the DSL 100 power amp doesn’t blow a fuse, it’s the baddest thing in the galaxy. I would like to have an HX Stomp though.

What sort of sounds and what sort of use are you going for?
@@LeonTodd I’m into Blues/Rock and Ambient sounds. I know (correct me if I’m wrong) Line 6 products have way better Ambient sounds than Boss products. Also feel that snapshots are far a better way to transition from sound to sound without trails dropping out. Again I’m more familiar with Boss Products so Line 6 is new to me. I do own the GT-1000 Core but as you said in your GX-100 video, I don’t need the WHOLE KITCHEN SINK. Hopefully you can help me out, I’m stuck between those two also Line 6 HX Stomp XL could also be a candidate.

I have a tone request. A preset that could do Bad Company Brian Howe era. So for songs like No Smoke Without Fire, Here Comes Trouble, Holy Water, etc.
