I was having a goddamn panic attack when she wanted to paint it gold or sage. In spaces where someone is editing with colours you want either white, 18% grey or black. Any colours introduced into a space mess with how your eyes perceive the colours on your screen. Also any lights should have a daylight bulb not a warm white... and curtains to block the light coming in through the window hahaha. But super cute space, love that print and the plants are really lovely.

curtain is a must, especially that the desk were you will be talking is not far from the nook
@@karinenormandin8537 So maybe even a thick a curtain to mute the voices a little bit? He would still be able to hear them, although I think some noise cancelling headphones may be in order now, too.

You could try the scallop stencil alternating right side up and upside down to get a wavy line that's more precise!
He needs a little divider between the nook and the rest of the room. Or at least a mirror so he can tell when someone comes behind him.
I think so too.. he will work in headphones and jump up every time someone is near.... or at least they can rotate the desk..

The space looks totes fab Team AG . . . . but I do miss the Industrial windows. They really added to the uniqueness of the space. The new windows just look like apartment windows now, maybe consider adding mullions to them.

I do think those 'squiggles' could have worked if they were even and you used a mug/glass/small paint tin to draw around, but at the same time I quite like the straight line because it matches the industrial vibe of the space generally so maybe happy accidents

I thought it looks cute. Some sound proofing would have been ideal for someone who edits since it's in close proximity to the other desks. A divider that mufflers sound behind the chair and some panels on the wall would have been a nice touch!

Oh. I was thinking something similar. Her “squiggles” were off in terms of scale. Fewer repeats would have looked better. Longer wavelength and a variety of amplitudes. More akin to rolling hills than cute scallops. I also thought all three walls should have been painted.
So glad someone else said it! Just using a circular stencil to make the crests and troughs would have made her pattern more uniform, like a sine wave (without being a true sine wave).

I like that you tell us what you're NOT going to do, what you've decided against and what you're NOT going for. It really helps me to learn a lot more from your videos than I've found anywhere else. I've been following you since pretty much the beginning, and I like to watch this genre of video every morning which means I've watched everything you've done already, so I've had to look elsewhere for more content, and it's just unsatisfying and hard to learn from other people most of the time. They just don't let people in on the creative process like you do, which helps me to be aware of things to consider when working on my own space and projects. I really like that about your videos

I was laughing with all of you when you tried to 'randomly' stencil on the wall. It wasn't good. However, the end result was so good! Glad he liked it! (By the way, glad you corrected to cut the plant below the node.)
Maybe you could paint the mustard yellow above the navy I think it would enhance the art since it has a light border around the image also the frame is a warm color and last the mustard will tie in with the couch in the other area
You have to cut below the node for the plant to root😉Maybe fill it with more water so it hits the next node.

EXACTLY what I am worried about myself. Nothing worse than a glare on the screen when editing, as well as having non-neutral colours behind the screen (best stick to white, dark grey, black)
Yes, the nook needs a light blocking drape.
I loove the decor in James's editing nook - especially the wall, that print and the planters. 😍
Regarding noise - trust them. He and Alex will have discussed that right at the start. James will probably wear headphones over his gorgeous locks. 🎧
My only concern is light reflection off the monitor. But that's easily fixed with a folding screen that can be opened behind him. 💕
James is 100% awesome. Just a humble soul. I am here for his own channel. He can just be talking about nothing. I love seeing this wonderful human being. Awesome people come from God. 🙏
The painting set the vibe!!! Maybe I would add a rug for extra coziness. Well done alexandra. I was laughing so hard on how confident you were on the first attempt to paint the wall, ending up hating it. Making over is a process.

As a person who worked in an office for many years, a rug would be a hinder. Bare floor or maybe a desk mat would be best depending on how much he moves around. I know a desk mat isn’t “cool vibe” but, I’m sure they will figure it out as time goes on.
I think a rug in his little entry way might be a cute separation of space, or a tapestry on the way to absorb sound better.

Was about to note the same thing! Perhaps the team likes the new window frames as they lighten up the overall look. However, if they want that somewhat more striking look back, black paint & electrical tape a la Lone Fox!

This office space is beyond beautiful and I absolutely love it. I have to be honest though, what I fail to understand is the comment, “the canvas is a great solution for a work space without a lot of storage”. If it’s an office built from scratch, I wonder why storage and function wasn’t the main focus. 🤷🏽♀️ But you know what, everyone works differently. What functions for me might be different than what functions for them. She did a great job!! I’m 41, so I guess the main focus of a work space being “Instagram worthy” in a generational thing that I am too old to understand. 👵🏽🤣

I thought when you said they were going to change the windows, you meant they were going to replace the broken glass. I didn’t think it meant they were changing out the windows to a new style. So disappointed. It totally changed the old industrial vibe that was rockin.

The new windows are likely sooooo much better in terms of energy efficiency, so it’s a win for the planet!
The old windows might have been very drafty and not very practical for energy efficient! I replace my old windows last year and I’m so glad I did especially cause it makes a huge difference during colder and darker months. Let the heat stay and the light in, baby!

I like the wavy paint idea so I looked around and found some Bulletin Board Borders that are wavy shaped. They're for kids classrooms but they look thick enough that you could just put them on the wall and use as a stencil

I was hoping that AG would add a small runner that would sit under Jame's chair to just finish it off. It would also help to absorb sound and make it even cozier.

If you are allowed to, it might be nice to paint the window frames black to bring back the more industrial look, to add elements of the dark wall in the editor's nook, and to frame the work/living space.
If you use a half-circle stencil on either side of the line, it’ll create a super precise squiggle!! :)

So if you do the squiggle again, I suggest making 2 straight guide lines to the peaks and valleys all hit the same height, then make wides waves for a more calming effect

I think to do a squiggle, you'd do a straight line, and have something circular to trace. Top half of the stensil, than index it and then the bottom of the stensil
i love native! i have tried every other vegan friendly, natural deodorant and have had horrible pit burns but native actually works and doesnt hurt me!
