Like others said, he wasnt too soft this season, just tired. I mean he spent most of his life alone, then finally got back to his family after working as a hit man to keep the timeline in order, then tried to end the apocalypse twice, only to be told its happening a third time 💀 id be exhausted too.

I really hated the rest of the family for being so hard on Viktor. Since when have they ever supported Viktor in anything? It’s because they all were so cruel to Viktor that the first apocalypse happened in the first place. What makes them think that Viktor should’ve talked to them first, that Viktor could possibly have any hope that they would listen?
I just realized how dependent Five is on his powers can’t wait to see how he handles being powerless in S4
I think he will have kind of a professional burnout maybe he will feel empty like he is not similar to himself anymore as one essential part disappeared it s really sad
i mean is he tho in terms of fighting capability he's able to fight adults in a 13 year old body imagine if he was older like he'd be able to beat all his sibling without the powers realistically
@@sinceredtb3227 In a real fight Five can’t do much against Allison for example, she is both skilled fighter and can disable him with a rumor immediately (Even faster after season 3 where she doesn’t even use the rumor anymore)
@@mete8901 But he knows about the rumor ability and can pretty much negate it by wearing hearing protection. Or he just uses a Sniper and kills her from a distance before she can even react. The Guy is is maybe the only one, aside from Diego, who can fight well even without his abilities.

This guy hates Lila and yet takes the time to ensure she knows Diego loves her and she deserved better than the Handler's abusive parenting. You just can't deny that there's a heart of gold hidden underneath that nasty, sassy facade.

Honestly, Five is my favorite character for many reasons, and one of them is how responsible he is. He tries time and time again to save the world, and even when his siblings are being little babies who don't want to help or believe him, he still tries. Allison's wrong when she says that his siblings are the ones to pick up the broken pieces, because really, it's FIVE who has to do this. With no break either. It's just a continuous repetitive cycle where he has to convince them to save the world. The guy deserves a good retirement. And a girlfriend.

Five was a lot softer this season and like other people said, he was tired of it all but I really like this sort of side if him. It's a bit different from what we've seen of him whilst still being him with his smartass responses and this side of him seemed to bring him closer to his family- I guess because he was too tired to keep his normal guard up. I think a part of him, whilst being somewhat disturbed by seeing his future self, was almost relieved that future him said not to stop the apocalypse/end of the world

Let’s keep this in mind that this is at least a 58 year old man in a teenage body who went through 2 apocalypse situations and was set on finally getting a retirement, even going along with his former drug addict ex cult leader brother on a road trip being a tourist, and found out he’s about to go through a universe destroying time paradox, I think it’s fair to say that the dude is tired and is more then willing to punch a brother or sister in the throat to get a nap
Don't forget having seen his siblings dead, being killed or about to die in a nuclear apocalypse. The script really doesn't go easy on this one.

Other characters have their own exploration of trauma, moving on, have someone with them, and have their breakdown as well, but not five. Yes in season 1 he got his character explored but we only know the surface and didn't explore deep enough to his character. Since season 4 is the last season, is this what its called "always save the best for the last"? I expect his trauma to dig in the last season. Oh and his siblings apologizing as well, man has enough being called assholes and being blamed at

It was really annoying how Five was treated this season. He had a lot of good smart ass moments and a lot of good family moments but people like Allison were just yelling at him to yell. He’s a little less clueless than the rest of them but he’s expected to have all the answers and to be able to travel through time with 100% accuracy??? That’s ridiculous. The family has been relying on him for plans the past 3 apocalypses now and Allison decided to accuse him of doing this on purpose??? Like yes girl I’d be very upset too but Allison was such an insufferable bitch this season I couldn’t stand her.

True like personally even if i get dragged with someone like Five who gets entangled with time, I'd still thank him because he time travelled at the final episode of season 1 unintentionally to the time of 1960s, and that action alone woulda saved the remaining survivors and that's something his siblings have to be thankful for.
Some of them are grieving and that's understandable, but nah, if they wanna find someone to blame, it should never be Five because quite literally, without him, none of them would have lived.
He's really great at portraying an old man because I've never felt like he's a kid. He really acts like a man in his 50's.

As if he really means it?? He went through hell and back for his siblings. He could never truly bring himself to hurt any of them, but especially Viktor, who he was clearly the closest to during their childhood.
This show is really about a time traveling superhero named Five and his band of incompetent sidekicks.
5 was genuinely just over all of it this season like legit ik he got tired of having to wrangle his siblings to stop messing up stuff and the timelines to where he was like "I legit have 3 plans to solve everything and you all messed up each one... this timeline is decent so fuck it"😂😂
Feel like when he said he was done with killing last season he meant it. This is more "old man Five" and less "assassin Five", and I loved it. Yeah he was softer, but I didn't think it was a bad thing at all. Tired, old, constantly trying to reason with foolish siblings, and getting no rest- doesn't it make complete sense that now he just wants to retire with the family he's been trying to save for the past 20 days straight? lol Thought it added to his character a lot, actually

five carried the whole show, the other characters for me are pure filler for this show, five has a lot of presence and stole all the attention of the public, without him there would be no umbrella academy
klaus’ story lines are usually filler but they remain super entertaining, hes actually the only character who feels like he’s earned his power ups, but he also tends to uncover huge plot points before anyone else and then no one believes him because he’s klaus

I love that Five is softer this season. At the end of the day he went through SO much and his siblings are all assholes (Sans Klaus and Ben, who are amazing.) And he deserves to be able to relax and have fun, he needs love and hugs and to be able to start over, start fresh. Be a fucking kid again, I hope when this series ends, they all get sent back to when they were kids and get to do it over, right this time. Grow up together, with Ben alive, Vanya included and Five having never left. It'd be the best ending to an amazing series. Fingers crossed.
Aidan is terrific as Five. Whenever he's on screen I forget that this is actually an 18-year-old playing a 58-year-old stuck in a prepubescent body, and that is really commendable. I loved him overall but the whole trip with Klaus is the highlight of this season for me tbh. Well, that is mostly because Klaus is my all-time fav ( and like Robert fuckin Sheehan c'mon???!!!).

Like many people have said, he's not soft, just tired. After being isolated for 45 years with a mannequin and then becoming an assassin, then he finally found his family and has tried and failed multiple times to save the world for TWENTY-EIGHT DAYS STRAIGHT without breaks, he's also hunted down by the commission, now he comes back to 2019 and they shouldn't even exist, family drama breaks out, now, they're in a new world and have lost their powers.

I actually enjoyed him being a bit softer this season. It’s always felt like he was a super nice person but his ptsd from the apocalypse and the effects from all the assassin work kinda hid that away. Don’t get me wrong it’s great that they considered the emotional effect on him and Aidan’s amazing acting skills made it even better, but it’s also nice to see what he’s like when he finally gets some time to relax and be “himself” a bit more.

this isn't him being soft but rather being slightly less stressed now that the Commission and Handler are gone but still being tired with all the bs that's happened. also he's still acts the same way he did in S1 and S2 it's just that he's lived through over 4 decades exploring the world after its destruction, worked in the Commission for a few years, fought for that chance to go back in time, had a week to prevent the world's first ending, same thing with S2 but had more sacrifices and issues in the process, and the one time he thinks he's finally at ease is when something worse than the world ending happens while losing some of his family to a different but just as manipulative version of Reginald as well as learning that there are lies in his family. so with all that going on, him wanting to relax and being open about that for once doesn't automatically mean him going soft. and are we all gonna forget that he's willing to kill off Viktor if another lie is formed again? I don't blame him but I'm pointing that out because I don't necessarily think him being more tired means him going soft. And if you mean soft as in him being more caring about his family, well it's always been there throughout the show as he fought like hell his entire life in order to save the world if it meant keeping his family alive it's just that S3 makes the caring side of his personality look more obvious on the surface.
