I also didn't have great equipment and was using and SDR so people could actually hear the broadcast instead of hearing rapid fading from my location since I am not in the target area.
Im not the only guy to prefer listening a station on shortwave than on the web despite of sound quality😂😂😂 when you know the frequency, it's more easy and faster to light on the receiver.

Shortwave listening is generally not monitored by the government and is preferable to TV or Internet if you can find stations.
