I cannot agree with not cutting low frequencies, because you cannot hear it on your headphones or with your subpack. When you use low pass filter and make it much louder then you can hear it. On big systems i.e. clubs and festivals it can causes problems in low frequencies.

Sure. Best way is to test it for yourself. I’ve been lucky enough to play on many many large sound systems including many festivals. So I have a good understanding of what the translation is between the stage and the studio. I find the subpac very accurate. Especially with a tuned room. With a test tone I can feel my subpac rumble as low as 10hz. So if I can’t feel any low rumble in say, a hi hat. Then it’s not there. At least not a level that is going to cause any problem. There are much more important things people could be spending their mixing time on. Things that actually make a difference. This decision is easy to make with a subpac or good subwoofer, but can be very difficult without it. That’s why I made a video explaining a few work arounds you can do visually to help people out who don’t have access to such things. link is in the description

Do you use dmg eq for everything now or do you still find yourself using ableton eq for small stuff?

I have DMG and some other 3rd party EQs, but I often just EQ8. It's the settings you make that mater much more than the EQ
