It is impossible to imagine the performers of the main roles. The selection is phenomenal, Rose and Jack performed by Kate and DiCaprio, who brought Titanic to the top of the cinema world, cannot be replaced by other actors. It’s not for nothing that the love story embodied in this masterpiece has a huge number of prizes and awards ✨👍✨
This is so personal for me. Back in 1998 I was living in the same part of North London as Kate (our real estate paths have diverged since 😂) and I was in the Holloway Road Waitrose supermarket and a couple of guys working there seemed very agitated (I thought they’d spotted a shop lifter). Then one in a very loud stage whisper to the other hissed ‘Barry, Barry, bananas! Kate Winslet’ and there by the bananas was an incandescently beautiful Kate Winslet chatting on her phone (mobiles were new in those days). She was absolutely gorgeous and smiling so beautifully as she chatted but even then I guess she must have been creeped out by the attention her sudden meteoric fame was eliciting. Very sweet memory for me though.
