The 2023 Volvo V90 B6 Cross Country Is A Lifted Luxury Hybrid Wagon For Families

  • For years, #Volvo has been one of the biggest luxury manufacturers to offers families several different wagons to choose from and if you want the biggest and most luxurious, you're going to be looking at this #V90CrossCountry. For 2023, the #VolvoV90CrossCountry enjoys the benefit of a new electrified turbo I-6 under the hood and while Volvo is working on a new fully electric generation in the next couple years, this #V90 is still one of the prettiest looking wagons on sale today.

    More wagons please! This definitely makes more sense than SUV’s. Beautiful gorgeous design. Very nice review!

    It's refreshingly nice to see that Volvo is still committed to providing buyers with a station wagon~ I actually really love hatchbacks and wagons for their practicality, and while not as practical as an SUV, it's nice for families who are needing this type of a vehicle. And I think this V90 looks absolutely amazing and gorgeous.

    I love my ‘22 V90CC. It does all the things it’s supposed to do very well and isn’t trying to be a sports wagon. It’s comfortable, useful, serene, and has enough tech to be useful but not over the top. The Volvo Cars app lets you have remote start. The massaging seats are amazing and the vehicle has more than enough power for all normal uses. The over the air software updates have been welcome as well. We’ll see about reliability, but it’s not something I’m concerned with for the next few years. I’d skip on the air ride suspension and stick with the stock 19” wheels. I do wish the back hatch area had a somewhat higher roof, but there’s a price with the sleek long roof look. And…my dogs can hop in just fine without me having to pick them up.

    • @cbatiau2528
      @cbatiau2528 Před rokem +1

      I also go with the smallest wheels available, always. Large wheels are stupid in a wagon or SUV, really; harsher ride, less efficient mileage/range, less safe, more expensive. Volvo is actually going with sports wagons; they've put their Extended Range PHEV drivetrain into their 60- and 90-series wagons and SUVs, giving 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque, which is insanely fast and strong. I don't understand why they don't put this drivetrain into their Cross Country wagons instead of this lethargic "mild-hybrid" drivetrain.

    Just returned a V90 after a 4 year lease. I’ll just comment on the overall design as my one a euro diesel. The 5 meter length is quite a lot, but the disappointing aspect is a lot of that length is an extra long front end / hood. It looks awesome but takes away from what should be passenger space. The rear hatch cuts into storage space. I found it easier to get a mountain bike in a golf than this big car ! The roof is quite low and head space for driver is poor. The overall build quality and tech and handling etc are fantastic. I just would ask for traditional Volvo flat hatch to come back ! Maximize space :) one last gripe the fuel tank is quite small for such a big car. I went to an xc60 ironically it’s a bit smaller inside but the space is more useable.

Having just purchased a 2023 Outback and ridden in them many times previously, I can say from ample experience that the Outback has an excellent ride, far better than most people expect. My passengers always comment on the ride quality. Obviously, the optional air suspension and luxury features on Volvo take things up a notch, but it's at a painful cost. I thought B5 was just a turbo 2.0L, and B6 was turbo 2.0L plus mild hybrid? I thought all of the new "B" line powertrains got rid of the twin charged feature. It is a bit vague on the volvo website, anyone know for sure?

    I’m forever mystified at reviewers doing 0-60 comparisons and complaining that 5.5 seconds is so much better than 6.5 seconds. No one buys these cars for that reason and no one drives them that way. I found the V90 CC to be more than quick enough, with a much nicer interior than the A6 Allroad, and with tech that is way more user friendly (the Android Automotive system works really well) without the complicated and essentially useless functions in the Audi and Benz. The 4 cylinder mild hybrid is really smooth and the car rides well, is very well built, and is incredibly easy to live with. That’s why most people buy these cars, not brake torqued 0-60 runs.

    The exterior is almost perfect. Interior is showing its age and need restyling badly.
    And it is necessary take into account that for the price of this particular Cross County you can buy two Outback Subarus which is more reasonable choice.
    The new refreshed Subaru interior even better than this white colour Volvo.
    The best choice is Audi A6 Allroad 2023.

      manually adjusting steering wheel is the least of these car's problems... Having drive modes, climate controls, phone controls, and audio controls in a touch screen is really unsafe for when the car is moving, and frustrating to use, as well. Many/most of these controls should be on physical dials/buttons on the steering wheel. And check out how bad the computer screens are! The instrument panels lack lots of basic info and are not very configurable. Having a manually adjusted steering wheel will lose zero sales, but all these other problems prevent most people from considering a Volvo.

    Being a luxury brand, I think they missed out on their engine choices. Other premium manufacturers are offering at least a 6 cylinder engine, either diesel or petrol. Infotainment is also laggy. Can imagine how it will work in 10 years time when we the poor folks might be able to afford it with a bank loan. Also the T8 Recharge on the V60 has the much more reliable 2.0l turbocharged engine. The B6 is plagued with issues.

      Volvo won't go back to 6-cylinder cars; they're going in the opposite direction (no ICEs at all). You are spot-on with the B6 being a horrible drivetrain. What Volvo should have done is create an Extended Range PHEV for the Cross Country wagon (which they've put into most of their other models by now).

Mb eklass is for me in winter more predictable but overall the v90 cc is a way more reliable alternative to audi a6
