- Lockheed Martin has always led the industry when it comes to innovation in military aviation, and is poised to reaffirm its title as the leader with its latest hypersonic unmanned vehicle - the SR-72.
But can this aerial ghost, born in some secret lab, surpass its legendary ancestor, the SR-71 Blackbird, by rewriting the future of American air operations?
Let’s figure it out!
RULE 1 if they show you ....they already got the next one ready.
That is the Absolute Truth a little bird 🐦 was saying things 😊😮
💯🤙🤙
Yupp
Hell we most likely have technology far more advanced than this. They just need to sensitize and condition the public slowly. Just like they had all the technology our computers and smartphones decades ago.
@@rustyshackleford1092 💯🤙
SR-71 flew for about 9 years when very few knew about it. SR-72 probably already in service.
Try 25 years
LBJ announced the Blackbird in July 1964, with the first flight listed as Dec 1964.
I just ordered one for myself. Should be here by Friday. Overnight delivery was too expensive...
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
I will trade you for 2 F-20 Tiger Sharks from the 80's Oh wait, nevermind
Gonna daily fly it to work and back? 😂
@@whyguitarguy1 I'm retired. This will be for dinner in Viena followed by dessert in Tokyo.
A little secret to all of you. Whenever the U.S. Air Force publicly announces a plane to the public, the plane has already been tested for 20-25 years. The Blackbird first flew in 1957 and the F-22 first flew in 1989. 😂
Yep...they have something even more out of this world and I have photo proof.
It's called a Pulse Detonation Engine and it's rumored to power the Aurora hypersonic aircraft.
Its signature contrail looks like "donuts on a string"
I took a picture of such a contrail behind my house in Southern California in 2019 at around 4:30 pm.
It flew very high and fast across the sky - I estimate 3 to 4 times what an airliner would across the sky.
The F-22 wasn’t a black program. There were photos of its development in the mid 80s in coffee table books available at the mall.
When it test flys people think it’s a UFO. 🤣😂🤣
3:50 Maximum altitude ceiling of 85,000 lbs... ROFL!!!
0:48 The SR71 flew at 880,000 feet or 66.7 miles high. 🤣🤣
Lost it there too! 😂😂
@hughacosta1090 We will always be the last to know. Secrets that the Government keeps from everyone.
I knew something sounded off 😂😂😂😂
Get over it!
If they showed it to the public, even in mockup form, to the public, it has been flying for several years now. The SR-71 had flown a decade before the public had any idea it exited. And if it has been shown, the next generation is already under development.
I got mine on Amazon Prime - was discounted on Prime Day!
I got mine for even cheaper on cyber Monday at Walmart it was at a mark down from the Black Friday sale. My brother got his even cheaper than mine at the flea market.
The Darkstar (if it existed) advantage over drones would be situational awareness and the Darkstar advantage over satellites would be responsiveness.
If they talk about it. It’s done.
Ba da bing. Ba da boom.🥁
A lot of people do not know that they built the stealth fighter and the stealth bomber back in the '70s they did not come out till desert Storm That's how long they kept it head
Good luck, Lockheed.
The fact that SR-72 has pulled its pants down means they already have another one that works even better and faster.
SR-72 is a marvel with chimera engines that propel it between 2.5 and 3.5 mach at extreme altitudes ... but what is the platform frame composition - improved alloy formulations? A toast to Skunk Works!
Usa usa usa ❤
Carbon fiber footprint, has a nice ring to it.
Well actually the successor to the 71 is not an Air Force plane, it’s flown by the NRO (National Reconnaissance Office). It gets airborne refueling support from specialized Air Force tankers, but the missions are performed and the data collected are controlled by the NRO.
Sr-72 Son Of Blackbird Dark Star. A duel purpose hypersonic aircraft with both a manned and unmanned variant.
Why people are so insistent that "its a drone" when part of the hype is it being the fastest self-propelled manned air craft to beat its older brother is beyond me.
They needed to replace the SR-71 because English Lightning fighters were DIVING on it to gun firing solutions in the 80's and 90's. AND the Swedish Viggen fighters were regularly achieving missile lock upon it throughout the 90's and 2000's! SR-73 in service development already. SR-72 due to be phased out soon.
It has been in service since the retirement of the SR-71!!!!!
You can picture Maverick flying inverted with Goose taking a snapshot of a Russian Hypersonic Missel at full burn 🤣🤣👍👍
The "successor" to the SR-71 are high resolution satellites... That being said.. I PRAY the "SR-72" isn't just a pipe dream.. I personally think Lockheed /DARPA already have the propulsion system figured out. I'm most curious of how you repeatedly deal with Mach 6 heating...
Chimera engine = KYE Meer a
I admire Skunk Works. They have always surpassed, the expectations. So: Keep Your hat on, and don't hold your breath.
Something is coming, nobody knows what, but somebody will be surprised.
So, do not, repeat; Do not, put on the foil hats!
my favorite plane the sr-71 blackbird
I like the f 15 eagle
Airforce frequently puts out stupid numbers. 1) cost of keeping A-10 operational. 2) cost/value/benefit of B-52 new engines - using bare cost of fuel instead of cost of putting it in a aerial tanker, then aerial refueling
I wouldn’t doubt that it is and has been operational for some time now.
The fact that they would even share any information on this stuff is plain stupid. Why would you give your enemies like China Russia North Korea any idea.
Speed of sound is relative to altitude and air density.
Is it a Max?
That might have flown barely over most everyone's heads, but its hilarious.. Well, as long as you arent missing loved ones...
Hopefully, it will remain intact at those velocities.
“Let’s Figure It Out”. I thought you figured it out bas3 on the vid Title.
Waste of money when there's technology that dwarfs this.
MEANWHILE....
EVERY PICTURE YOU'VE SEEN OF
NGAD AIRCRAFT....
ARE BLUEPRINTS IN THE BOX OF
HOPES & DREAMS.
DON'T BE IN AWE....
UNTIL "THE ACTUAL" IS REVEALED.
THIS NARRATIVE IS RIDICULOUS;
AND SOUNDS MORE LIKE BEST GUESS THAN PLAUSIBLE POSSIBILITY.
♠️THE VANITY ADDICT♠️
It needs to be earlier than that
This is dated as of 2 weeks ago but quoting 2018 roll out estimates. It is just an re-gifting of an old video.
Don't count on Lockheed Martin they are a DEI first as Boeing company. Being a world leading first class hardware MFG visionary is more suggestion rather than an actual goal. No engineer in charge just accountants figuring how much the can milk out of the DOD.
KIZILELMA ! 🍎
Interesting. But what value will this platform bring to the table that isn't already being performed by satellite based reconnaissance?
Lots. Satellites are predictable.
8:57 The "Army" doesn't fly hypersonic aircraft...that would be the Air Force......shows your lack of detail.

Old news
Can't stand this guy's voice.
Same here. His voice is very harsh, and I think he talks very loud or even shouts while recording...
Funny nonsence, altitude of Mig-25 and Mig-31 is higher than SR-71. 85000feet or 25km EASY. Withtout missiles 27-30km 100 000 feet is standard. With 2 missiles can this 85 reach easy.
Ok why did they fail to shoot down a blackbird then? Also they are too slow to maneuver at such an altitude even if they didn’t burn their engines up getting there 😂
@@aaronanderson3644 The Russians never shot at the SR-71, because it copied the borders in Europe. And the Mig-25PD and then the Mig-31 patrolled the Barens Sea. Only the DPRK and China fired at the SR-71. Otherwise, the SR-71 could have been shot down by a Mig-23ML in the mid-80s by a Czechoslovak pilot nicknamed BAČA. You just need to find "" JAK BAČA MÁLEM SESTŘELIL SR-71""Unfortunately, you won't understand my language, where he describes it in the video and it doesn't have English subtitles😏.
Few people know about this incident, it was not published for decades
lol tell that to the defector that brought us a mig. He would disagree with you heartily.
zzzzzzzzz
😂😂😂😂😂 propaganda its a movie made crap
