This is great! Once you go silicone you don't want to go back to water based. Out of the blue I thought I'd do a quick search on how to make my own silicone lube and found this. Thanks for posting!

Silicone, not silicon. Silicon is what they use in semiconductors. You’d have to be a true sadist to use that as lube. 😱😎

I usually blend Dow 360 Medical Fluid (Edit: 350 Cs) with DC345 and DC556, in about 1:0.4~0.5:0.03~0.05 ratio, it's so shiny and smooth, and saves a lot compares to commercially available lubes.🥰

Over 20 years ago I bought a small bottle of silicone lube (Dimethicone, 200 ml). There’s still about a fifth of it in that bottle. Two reasons:
First - I prefer the tiniest dusting of talkcum and any amount of non-sticky, non-shined, loose latex to the skintight and shined-up variety by a long shot. Just a preference. I think the former preparation is great for actual play while the latter one may be better for pictures and video.
Second -Oftentimes I just use the few drops of silicone oil left in recently opened condom wrappers. Think about it: this is medical-grade stuff, and it gets tossed in the bin. So next time, and clean fingers/gloves provided, try turning that wrapper inside out and use the »free« silicone oil for lubing up socks, masks, gloves, pillow cases and other small garments. A little goes a long way. Cheers!

What is this Silicon Lube used for? Is it the same used as Treadmill Lubricant?

Hey there, really good video. I am trying to find alternatives to lubricants and I was thinking in trying to do one myself. I could find all the ingredients, except for Phenyl Trimethicone here in my country. Any alternatives? How bad would it be without it?
You could probably get away with not using the Phenyl Trimethicone. But the lube will have a lot more "stickiness" of a feel to it. You can always make a small batch and see how it feels.

If you use a thicker dimethicone, such as 500 cs and up, this formula could also use for polish

Try adding a bit of Vitamin E and Aloe in varying degrees. micro batch testing from your main supply. I think you'll find that does it. If that doesn't do it, try a bit of coconut oil. Also you could try high speed whisking.
Could you not just use silicone oil that has a lower visc like 50cst and not use any thinner or add anything to it?
Silicone oil works well for shining but it wears out quickly if you want to use it for play.
Can you use this for treadmill belts
I've used it to lube up a squeaky tripod... but probably best to use approved lubricant for your treadmill.

The chemicals are labeled to be used within a year of being purchased.

Try Aloe Vera Gel 100% made by Fruit of the Earth Company. No colors, alcohol, or anything else. A 12 ounce bottle costs $3.98 at Walmart. It's pretty easy to get at other places too. I thin it with distilled water and use it like that. You can eat it, put on sensitive body parts with no stinging, get it in your eyes, or whatever. Great stuff and very, very, very slippery. Just what the doctor ordered. Oh yeah, it's completely odorless too.
Oh no! You do not want to want to use aloe products with rubber. The oils will damage the material. However for standard body lubricants, aloe is commonly used, just not if you intend to use it with latex.
