- AYY MAN LISTEN I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS.. UFC just announced Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammad, Tom Aspinall vs Curtis Blaydes and Bobby Green vs Paddy Pimblett for UFC 304 in Manchester and I cannot wait to see Belal and Blaydes become UFC champions man. This is my immediate reaction to Dana White's announcement, my early predictions/thoughts on the fights that got announced and my views on the PPV card as a whole. Belal might actually have a good chance of beating Leon, he looked in very good shape in his recent sparring footage, and leon looked terrible in his last performance. Blaydes however is gonna get COOKED, theres no way hes gonna beat prime 265 Aspinal, he is literally heavier and leaner than their last fight...

Pressure from fans, pressure from home crowd, pressure as "true champ," pressure from Jones on Twitter and dumb mma media, pressure from Dana who is betting everything on Tom. This shits really like a movie dude.
@@cyrisz4300 Everyone has a decent chance at beating everyone else, at the championship level. No unranked bum hardly ever is given a chance at a championship fight.
That said, Belal's chances aren't any higher than either Usman's or Colby's.
The problem with all of them --- Belal, Colby, and Usman --- is that they all, the three of them, think they could depend on their superior wrestling (& all of them have superior traditional wrestling, compared to Leon) to overwhelm Leon.
The OTHER general obstacle all three of them (Belal, Usman, and Colby) face, in the time they fight Leon... is that they're on their way OUT of their prime, all beyond 35 or older. STATISTICS don't give guys 35 or older very good general odds against prime guys at the championship level....
Facts are sometimes inconvenient for many smart WWE/MMA fans, but...
In 4 total fights against two elite D1 & D2 fighters, Leon lost only once: the first one against Usman, when Leon was 23 or 24 (non-prime), with Usman being a giant, peaking guy at 28. Back then, also, Leon.... a lanky kid in hi early 20s.... had nothing just basic striking skills; little to no good TDD or wrestling or BJJ.
All those aspects of Leon's MMA are now upgraded to "very good" ... but his Muay Thai is way above Usman, Colby, and Belal's stand-up's...
When you fight a guy who could stand, for long stretches, with you on YOUR STRENGTH but who could easily hurt you with HIS STRENGTH... it is HARDER than most WWE/MMA experts think (WWE/MMA CZcams experts whose thoughts usually are "Leon is gonna be easy work for my hero...")
Colby, for example, was NOT YOUR NORMAL COLBY (the relentlessly aggressive chain wrestling cardio king), during the Leon fight, NOT because he felt sorry for Leon and so he allowed Leon to dictate a "boring fight."
Colby didn't want his hero, Trump from 10 feet away, to see him face down on the canvass.
No matter even if you're from some self-manufactured MAGA Universe, you can't be singing "Make America Great Again" if your face is firmly planted on the canvass... unconscious...
Anyway, it's NOT all Colby's fault: he's simply OLDER, less active, slower, smaller, shorter, with less reach. His pure wrestling, once they clinched up, was still superior to Leon's pure wrestling.
But, again, THAT ONE SKILL ALONE wasn't going to allow him or Usman or Belal to overwhelm Leon.

Nah Leon cant cant finish a fight at such a high level. He got that 1 in a trillion fluke KO against Usman and people forgot that he's a point merchant. Colby literally said his father is burning in Hell and Leon only mustered a 48-47 decision. lmfao
