  • Jordy Nelson utterly embarrasses Aqib Talib, the most overrated CB in big 12 history.

Crazy to look back today and see Talib as a future Hall of Fame corner who played on one of the greatest defenses of all time as a #1 corner. That shows how good Jordi Nelson was (even though Nelson won't be in the Hall of Fame).

like i said in my comment from one month ago. Jordy is the man. When Driver went down, Jordy stepped up! 9 catches, 140 yards and a TD in the SUPER BOWL! he did have the 3 drops, but a win is a win, and he now forever eclipses Talib as the best player in this video.
    Packers for life!

Jordy Nelson is a beast. I wouldn't call Talib overrated because he was a legit All-American but Nelson toasted his ass on that play. Can't wait to see him in the NFL.

As a defensive player you have so many plays and you have to figure out where the player will go. Eventually you are going to get scored on if you play enough routes. You have to also look at overall performance, especially in the Orange Bowl.

So what do you think of KSU vs. KU this year?
I think the keys for us are: 1. Run, run, and run the ball with Thomas and Valentine.
On defense, we need to hammer down on the short and sideline throws Reesing makes. Reesing is short, and thus doesn't throw a lot over the middle. To compensate, KU does a lot of cut back and throws to the sideline along with screens. If we can get pressure on Reesing and get our DE's to stay at home, I see us winning.
    Thoughts?

@CVUEVikingfan28 Nelson ran an official 4.45 actually. Which is terrific. And @lordvoldemort578 is right, the 40 is not a speed test, it's an acceleration test.

@leftyctopher they wouldn't give it to him because of the 3 drops.. if he were in James Jones' spot when Jones dropped that huge pass, and got it for the catch and run, then he'd have a case. because he'd be somewhere in the area of 10 catches 200+ yards and 2 TD's. only thing that would stop him is that at that point, Rodgers would have had 400+ yards and 4 TD's

As a Buccaneer fan here in Tampa, I'm really glad to have Talib on our team. Ronde is done as a starter and Talib stepped up and was our best cornerback this year.
And for those who think he's only a Cover 2 CB, you should watch the Bucs more because we run a base cover defense only about 1/3 of the time now.

Everything that Aqib did wrong here, he's proven he can do right at the collegiate level and it should translate in the pros.
Nelson has the edge in speed on Talib, and probably 90%+ of football players in the country.
It wouldn't have became a TD if Talib got to Nelson's hip before looking back to the QB and the ball. He gets beat, catches up, looks back, and it's history.
Talib knows better than this, and I'm sure Raheem Morris has already taken notice and corrected it.

I suppose that the all time wins of 65-37 in KU's favor over K-State is really all that matters. Sorry but a decade of dominance doesn't overshadow a century of dominance. The Orange Bowl win in 2008 was just icing on the cake. Has K-State ever won a BCS bowl game? Hell they weren't even invited in 1998 arguably the best team they ever had... That must sting.

i love all the people that say "oh, how many td's does Jordy have? derp" it's hard to get playing time when you've got Greg Jennings aka "The Hardest Nigga in Madden", Donald Driver and James Jones in front of him.
Jordy is a #4 receiver on a team with one of the deepest WR corps in the NFL. on almost any other team he could be a 2 and have so many more touches. he's right at the league average as a 4th stringer and that tells you that when he does get the ball, he makes the most of it.

Loved the sapp and Favre feuds. They were entertaining. I just hated it though when Sapp blasted Chad CLifton when he wasnt looking. There was no need for that. But then again after that injury Clifton came back and has actually been playing the best football of his life since.

It was simple, this shrimp Jordy Nelson got a little bit of a head start, then he pushed off ever so slightly, just to get a cushion. Then he turned on the afterburners and caught a perfectly thrown ball. There is much more to this video than meets the eye.

Actually Talib didn't jump the route if that was the case you would had seen him jump forward which he didn't. He just feel asleep on the play and didn't respect Nelson's speed and was playing man coverage on him instead of giving Nelson a cushion especially knowing that he didn't have any safety help on the play. Talib just need to learn that if you are covering a speed WR and you don't have safety protecting the deep field then backup off the line and give that a cushion.

@ajraven52 At what point does a top 5 cover corner become worthy of a 1st round pick?
He shut Steve Smith down. In fact, Raheem takes full blame for the TD Smith. Outside of that, Talib allowed 1 catch for 10 yards which was not enough for a 1st down. So really Talib allowed 1 catch for 10 yards which led to a punt. That sounds like 1st round material to me. Denying the worth of this kid is clearly not based off of stats or fact.

@ajraven52 He would be the best #2 in the NFL. I think that would be a waste considering he shutdown White who many believe is the best in the game right now. Top 25 is over looking him. He did allow his fair share of plays early on, but he has not allowed more than 60 yards to receivers(35 came against Fitz) in the past three games and he always plays against the number one. And we are on pace to break a team record with least QB pressure and sacks. We have absolutely no pressure on QBs at all.
