In this video I show you and advise you on how to make Hermione Grangers wooden wand!
From turning the wand on a wood lathe from a beautiful piece of ash wood. Then drawing the leaves and vines on the wand. Then using a rotary tool with sanding drums, engraving bits and diamond bits to carve out the gaps between the vines. Then sanding the entire wand. Then painting the wand and finally varnishing the wand with clear satin wood varnish! :-)

This was so cool! Just asking, what are the dimensions of the wand? Thick did you make the different sections, and what tools did you use? Keep up the good work!
Hi, thank you 😀 So glad you like it 🤘 The wand is about 15 inches long but the thickness changes all the way down the wand. The way I worked out the size was to get a clear side view of the wand from google images or from a CZcams screen shot. Then blowing this image up to 15 inches long on the computer screen and then you can measure the individual parts of the wand. The tools I used to make the sections were different rotary tool engraving and diamond bits. Hope this helps 😀👍
amazin it looks exactly like hermiones! the vines are like impossible and i tried handcarving sorta hermiones
Yeh this wand build took a long time to just work out where the vines went around the wand and the engraving was an entire days work 😄🤟
@@DRRCreations its and entire day with a dremel tool but with hand carving it takes like a week or so and the wand that my uncle made for me i lost it

Hey mate. Nice work! What kind of wood do you use for your wands?
Thank you 😀 So far I have used several different types of wood for my wands, ash, teak and poplar which is also called tulip wood. Teak and ash machine and carve in a very similar way, both are quite hard but carve well. Poplar turns, carves and sands very well but isn't quite as hard as the others. I would recommend trying any of them if you are thinking of making your own wands 👍😀
