I kept wondering what the whole "Posi track" deal was even talking about, thought it was just marketing bs; Out of ALL the videos
I had watched on the ASV compact track loader, it just did not register.. & it took the screen cap from this
one video, before.. I FINALLY got it.
    *Sighs*
Also anyone catch that one operator at 01:23.. & wonder if someone bet him he couldn't make it out that spot?
Like, why else would go there?

Come to think of it , the asv track undercarriage reminds me of a or the Latest Snowmobile track design.

It’s because they based it like the snow mobile chassis

Looks like a maintenance nightmare. So many moving parts that are all going to wear out in short order.

They should explain that the 2 smaller machines don't have that walking beam suspension on the rollers. I own ASV PT 80 and Terex 100G, both are great machines .

Not very well from what I've been reading. The next question is how much it costs to replace the undercarriage of these things. One guy on forum reckons $15 U.S

It's year 2021, ASV should design a telescopic boom n a cabin enter from side, just like JCB 3T.

Is this the same undercarriage system that is on my caterpillar 277c mtl?

    • @IsaacMeyerMN
      @IsaacMeyerMN Před 3 lety +2

Similar, but yes, Caterpillar buys those undercarriages from ASV.

You will notice the tracks have drive lugs on the track. The sprocket doesn't go thru the track an drive metal bars inside the track. Now google big rubber tracks see any holes for sprockets? Here i make it easier google soucy tracks. Skidsteer tracks are small in reality, farm equipment has hundreds of horsepower. If they drive tractors that pull an weigh so much with tracks with internal lugs says all.you need to know.

Thanks for watching Doug. Yes, ASV sprockets engage with the lugs inside the tracks to move them. The engagement point also spins to minimize friction. Other loader sprockets stick through a hole in the track to move them, which causes a lot of friction and results in power loss.

Like the 289 and the asv used cat motors so it's cat powered thanks that's my choice

Could see a big rock or tree stump or limb bending the bar in the tracks

asv undercarriages are way to fragile causing them to break. bogie wheels are rubber and will blow out in no time
