Hello, it is humanity's greatest survival story. True story. You can't stop watching the movie! I am from Uruguay, the country of birth of the survivors of this accident, and I had children of survivors of the accident as classmates at school.
It was an amateur rugby team formed by 16 former students of a Uruguayan school. They'd invited mostly friends and some relatives to fill a chartered plane and pay less for each ticket. There were 40 passengers and 5 members of the crew on the plane that belonged to the Uruguayan Air Force.
"Alive" es una película de héroes, no es fiel a la verdad esta adaptada para el mercado...en cambio esta película es basada en entrevistas y diálogos con sobrevivientes y familiares es muy profunda.
In 2005 I went to Mendoza (Argentina) and went to the scene of the accident, near the Las Leñas ski center, in Malargue. An unforgettable experience. To think that if they had gone to the Argentine side (the plane fell in Argentina), 20 kilometers away there was an abandoned hotel and a town where people lived.
WITHOUT Don Sergio Hilario Catalán Martínez (CHILEAN Arriero 🇨🇱) who was the hero who saved the Uruguayans. Neither the Spanish (film producer) nor the Argentinians and Uruguayans (actors) would have had a film (they would have no story to tell).

There are three films based on this heart-wrenching survival story:

In the movie Alive Roberto rubbed Suzanna feet😮. She was badly injured in the accident. She later died of her injuries😢.
It was depicted back in "Alive", which came out in 1993 and starred Ethan Hawke.
