switching from ppl to UL + Weak Point Day is like the best decision I've made, the extra rest day is amazing
What's wrong with doing a 3 on 2 ppl like ppl r r ppl r r
Sorry I forgot that unlike me people have lives
@@gyrozeppeli7296 I like the structure, like Monday is a set day Tuesday etc. plus I don't have much time on Sunday because I plan a bunch of shit I can't do on the other six days there. But there's nothing wrong with it.
Lower/Upper/Bro flows from most taxing to easiest. No matter how taxing your Lower/Upper days are, easy to show up for raises, curls, and calves. : )
@@gyrozeppeli7296Nothing is wrong with that. Everyone is different. For me "the best decision" was going for a Chest/Shoulders/Arms, Back, Legs, rest split; so I have 3 days gym, 1 rest, 3 days gym etc. Much better for me than "2 gym, 1 rest, 2 gym, 2 rest" or "5 gym, 2 rest" I used to do.
And yes, I do take more than one rest day once in a while.
Most of these "influencers" haven't the slightest clue of what they are doing.

How ironic
I rest 7 days a week. And I grow...but now how I would like.
Rest harder than last time 😂.
It's ok, just don't get so big that your health start to suffer, enjoy life man.
I workout because I feel better if i do, but to each their own.
Sometimes is therapy.
I do full body 2 days a week and I do one day for legs to works for sure
💯 perfect advice Dr Mike!
There is always something to do . Train hard everyday but separate muscles
You're right, there is always something to do, such as recovering from total system fatigue, we can do that for a day.
@notyilli_2481 I do that in my sleep everynight . 4 weeks straight 1 week off for Mtor reset
@@matthewjohnson4328You need to rest your muscles more. sleeping resets your system and cognitive functions but taking a break from the gym at least twice a week allows your muscles to recover. Ever wondered why you are sore after your workout days even after you wake up?
I personally try not to train 7 days a week, i just have issues with obsessing over the gym. I just force myself to not think about it and do twice as much cardio on my rest days and maybe some abs.
What about 8 days a week?!
he also said he sleeps like four hours, so no recovery for him
People would get thhe most results from a ppl split once every 5 days so you train each muscle group once every 14-15 days and then you take 10 days off once every 4-5 months
How in Christ does one train everything twice a week with 4 to 5 days?
@@Spectrum_Wireless I couldn't possibly train every body part as hard as I do like that, just doesn't work. I started training like that, but that just wouldn't work now.
@@glac5514 where? He's gone.
It depends how your program is structured. If you're only doing 4 days the only way to hit everything twice is with an upper lower split.
You can train 4 times a week and hit chest 3 times if you would really like, you just have to reduce the volume elsewhere.
@@Ryan30z well I understand that. That low volume stuff doesn't work for me, hammering every body part almost twice a week is what has really worked for me. I may take 1 day off a week, some times I'll go for 2 or 3 weeks without a day off.

Day 1: Back+Legs+DL
Day 2: Push
Day 3: Back+Legs+DL
Day 4: Push
Problem solved lmao
What about 5 days a week lifting and 2 days low intensity cardio (zone 2 training) for an hour or so?
Rest days work better with not even low intensity cardio.
watch the RP video on rest days vs recovery days
Taking any advice from Tate is a generally bad idea
Yup
This is where I really struggle at the moment. Doing a Arnold split. Hitting muscles when they recover and recovering in time for the next session. Still getting quality in every session and pushing hard to failure focussing on quality sets (lttrly watching RP a lot).
Hitting arms 3/4 times in a week
Chest/back 3 times in a week
Legs (except calves) once per week
On the 7th day I do feel great and ready to hit the gym. I try rest days but I just feel good and fresh to skip.
Please Mike what’s the point of 6 days max if you’re able to bring up quality each time while you’re feeling great?
Hitting calves more often as well as delts
Hey are there studies to support 4/5 is better than 6? Makes sense but I’m curipus
What is more important, rest between the same workouts or total rest day sper week?
Rest between workouts is propably more important, as you want the muscle you trained to recover before you work it out again.
Total rest days are still important for fatigue management and overall recovery.
@@Carbidestruck thanks. Because I hesitate between doing push pull legs repeat, or a four day split and then rest
@@SB_1357 Both are excellent splits
A bad idea but not the worst idea he has had… 👀
What about 4 training days and then rest?
He says that in the video, 4-5 days is optimal for most people. Just lift when you can fit it into your life, and take sufficient rest periods so you recover.
He doesn’t trains 7 days a week for the discipline aspect of it, not for optimisation
I just did 6 days in a row (9 of last 10) but have to take off tomorrow because all my body wanted to do is sleep today. I don't think it's possible to lift hard and just skip rest. Frankly 6 of 7 might've been a bit much because i fell asleep after my morning workout today (which I never do). I'm somewhat newbie so it's good to push my limits but 6 of 7 is rough and that's with one of those being a light core day.
A newbie definitely does not need 6 or especially 7 days a week. 4 would probably be perfect. 5 if you have a specific cardio day.
It's all about how hard you go, and how well you rest. I get enough sleep (no alarm clock), I eat healthy and I focus on recovering. I feel fresh in the morning for a new workout. If I feel exhausted due to stress at work or a bad night sleep, I take a day off. Find something that works for you. I hate rest days because I can't stand free time with just me and my mind, and lifting is my favourite hobby. If you feel super energetic after a rest day, do 2-3 of those a week. A lot of methods lead to gains. Train hard, sleep a lot, eat healthy and stay happy :)
@@incogneeto2418 i like that advice and might do best with 6/7 days per week but lifting heavy, for short windows. That's not as tiring but I tried old school bronze era workouts last week (100+ reps) and it was too demanding on appetite & energy levels. Good look man, I like your mindset
I train 7 days a week but I do t want muscle growth, I’m 5ft9, muscular legs and uperbody with a reasonable dad bod belly, 105kg, boxing for 30-60 mins, running for 20 and light weights for reps full body then swimming everyday. All I want is better cardio, to lose weight and muscle weight and to have good muscle endurance and everything but the weight loss is going amazing doing this
You want lose muscle weight? Wtf
Then the diet & calorie intake must be sharp in order to be ultra lean , lean & muscular is the goal for everyone

Eh if your just goin in and getting a nasty pump man sevens fine. For a lot of us it is the therapy we need just to get through the day and not regress into darker thoughts or substance abuse. This is just facts.
Dr. Mike’s template in the RP app has me going 6 days a week and that’s felt VERY different from my usual 4.
Really enjoying it tho but shit makes you sleepy af lol. By 10pm I’m fried like my body is forcing me to get 8+ hours now 😂
Can I know what split for 3 days per week in the app is like ?
Just curious
Really no difference between 7 days or 6. But yes 3,4, or max 5, gives a couple of 24hr windows with no nervous system stress so it can regen. Muscle adaptation / recov depends more on the daily muscle splits, volume, failure etc.
Of course you will have the lazy kids on here trying to argue. Do what you want. Nobody cares if you stay small.
In a sea of horse shit social media information I thank the lifting gods for folks like Mike, Layne and Jeff.
Here I disagree. Lifetime natty and after more than a decade I still find 6 days a week much better cause longer workouts Stress more then frequent shorter ones.
I love all the Tate fanboys getting butthurt🤣 honestly, he does have a lot of good takes, particularly for young men/older boys who dont know how to live and act. But then there's that 10% of what he says that's just...

Rest day: only calves
I been gaining most gains on almost 7 days a week as i take a day or two off every month wen im sick or too tired but its because im a neet right now and i got 22 hours of full rest/10 hours of sleep everyday lol once i get a job prob 5 days the best
You getting sick every month?
What?
@@factorfitness3713 sick or just too tired or dont wanna workout day
@@funniejooniejoun3913bro you're feeling sick or that tired because you're wrecked from fatigue. Take at least one rest day a week, you'll physically feel better and will either have similar or better results in the gym. The research on rest days is pretty clear at this point.
Even if your results are slightly better, getting that sort of fatigue impacts your quality of life, it's not worth it.
If you're not working and you're fatigued try getting some sunlight and going for a walk first thing in the morning.
Your over training big dog
So why does natural champion body builders John Heart & Tom Kiat recommend 2-3 times a week? 5 times is also
A bad idea

How about cardio 7 days a week?
Uh walking is cardio so u do that anyway
And my cardio is walking on a treadmill om an incline at 12 to 15% at 3 speed
do 20 days a week

Cardio is for cardiovascular health and endurance, not really muscle growth. You can do cardio pretty much every day of the week, especially low and moderate intensity.
Explains why taint is so skinny
He has abs but he seems very bloated
Perrrssss
How about 3 or 4 max days per week?
You'll grow, you would maybe grow marginally faster doing 4-5. My little brother has put on the most size by dropping to 3-4 days a week
Listen to your body dude . If you feel like your body needs a rest day you will know
You need to train muscles at least twice for good growth. Some muscles can be trained more frequently, so that's where you get
Upper/Lower splits (4x): Hits upper and lower twice
Push/Pull/Legs splits (6x): Hits push muscles, pull muscles and legs twice
ULPPL (Mix, 5x): You get the idea
How can we achieve this in less than 4 days?
Full body days!
You can do 2x or 3x, it's not going to get you the best results, but if you're a beginner, you probably will get *good* results anyway. So better to do a 3x full body routine than trying to aim for 4 or 5 day routines and NOT hitting all of your muscles twice.
Optimal frequency depends on both the individual and the muscle. Some people just plain recover faster than others, and bigger muscles generally take longer to recover. An individual might be able to crush biceps three days a week no problem, but if you can keep up with three leg days a week, you probably aren't actually training your legs hard enough. If you're training hard, and you feel like you're recovering well on a given muscle that you want to make more progress on, try training it more often. Conversely, however, it can be worthwhile to try dropping the frequency to see if that lets you push even farther. A lot of people *think* they're recovering from their workouts, but would actually benefit from training less often.
@@Dewstendwhat in gods fuck are you talking about? Just train each body part twice a week. Kids like you actually know nothing and try to sound smart on the internet.

In most cases, clubbed nails are not serious
David Goggins: Hahaa! You ain't on my shit son!
Top G Andrew Tate 💪💪
Ppl dont understand that Tate and Goggins and all these ppl dont train for hypertrophy, they train to sharpen their discipline and their mind, they don’t care about muscles, so yeah this is bad advice to build muscle but they have different purpose in training
Bro how am i supposed to skip the gym? I mean its too good of a feeling if you go🫡
andrew still looks better and is still healthier than you
I think Andrew said it's more about training the mins than the body
He needs to train his mins 10 days a week to catch up to an 8th grader
Tate should stick to jacking off to his Bugatti's, it's the only thing in life that he's good at.
But like, wouldn't volume be more important? I mean presumably training 7x1 hour allows more recovery than 6x1.5 hours. So whether 5, 6, or 7 days a week seems kind of arbitrary
It's about contiguous rest / recovery time, not just a number. It's the flip side of a 60 min training block vs, say, 6 minutes each hour for 10 hours. Same amount of time, but one is more effective
How much more volume can you do in a single day? With this 6 day routine you are training 9h vs 7h. You literally get more volume and work done with 6 days according your logic.
I go 6x a week because of this. For 4x or 5x a week I'd have to increase my gym time by 15-30 mins to get the total weekly volume but that'd not be possible because my gym gets crowded at that time. Even adding 3 sets would take me a lot of time.
Tate isn't body building, he's a fighter, he's training for endurance and explosiveness
Doesn’t matter, your body needs rest. You form memories and grow while sleeping. You grow while resting. Overtraining leads to injury and lack of growth.
@@unitedskiesunderthemoon You missed the point bro. He's not training for "growth" he's training for endurance. As a fighter he needs to last 12 x 3 min rounds.
@@xerikl what do you think endurance trains? Endurance is not just stat in a video game. Its your physical body, your type 1 muscle fibers. Your human body, not machine, requires opportunity to grow back stronger to perform better.
