KENWOOD Remote App Setup for Android on 2017 BT Audio Receivers (KDC-BT368U, KDC-X301)

- This product training video demonstrates how to connect an Android device to a 2017 Kenwood BT audio receiver for use with the new Kenwood Remote App.
Updated Procedure: Close out the KENWOOD Remote App if it is open on your Android. Then, pair your phone via BT to the receiver. After that, go to the Standby source on the receiver, then change the Remote App connection type to Android. Next, change the source on the receiver to BT Audio. Then launch the KENWOOD Remote App from your Android device. The app should change from displaying Media Player to BT Audio. The video method should work, but since producing the video, there have been updates to the app to simplify the process.
Continuously CRASHES on Android. It was built for an old Android version and will not run even though the app claims it works on "Android 4.4 and above". Will this ever get updated?

Robert, this is instruction on using a Remote App with the receiver. If you only want to stream music via Bluetooth, only the Bluetooth connection process applies to stream music. Thanks!
The app seems very dated now, It would be nice to have a refresh as its pretty buggy. I just want to use it to EQ easier, but it freezes and crashes on me every time. I was kind of hoping for a fully graphic EQ tool too

Nice video, if I'm looking at a Kenwood single din radio for my older ford truck. I love the XM radio in my wife's brand new Malibu particularly the touchscreen for station control.
Can the Kenwood app mimic the touchscreen using the XM tuner so I don't have to butcher my dash to fit a double din radio?
All that this app did on mine was pic what song to play on my phones memory. Didn't actually control the head unit

yes they do. But the app sucks. I dont understand why they dont make an iPad app. To take advantage of the big screen and its also very buggy. Its in need of a serious update.

I have paired my android to my Kdc-bt652u.
When I turn the volume up to 10 (of 35) my speakers crap out.
If I plug my phone into the AUX I can crank the KDC way loud, same goes for CD or using a USB stick with music.
I have tried the volume on the phone and no difference? HELP PLEASE!!!
So you cant listen to anything that's on an other app. Like spotify or CZcams. You have to have the songs you wanna listen to download to your phone?
You can listen to any source through the bluetooth source with this receiver! Simply connect your phone through BT and go to the source and press play from your phone. Any audio, regardless of Spotify, CZcams, Pandora, etc will play this way.

Does kenwood kmm 304bt model have a frequency range for each speaker, or is the speaker's start frequency only adjusted?

What about the kenwood kdc-x320 model? I just received as a gift but won't connect so it can be used as a remote.

That receiver was released before this new feature debuted. It is not compatible.
Impossible to find if we can access audio settings, parameters (eq, bass, medium...filter...fader etc...) with Kenwood Remote app... And you just use it to change tracks and volume....
You can easily access the audio settings in the remote app by selecting the menu bars in the upper right hand corner of the app, then select Receiver Settings.

My god, is that progress??? I used to play CD's. Music within 5 seconds!
Obviously this not the process you go through every time. Once you enter the car it automatically connects to your phone and you can play music within 3 seconds.

Idk why not just sell it with a remote. Apps are a waste of time and it's against the law to have a phone on your hand.
Download the app go to switch the app on gets to the Kenwood screen 'permission required please in to app settings and give permission which it has! 😢
It seems you may have to make adjustments to the permission settings on your smartphone. You will need to research all possible adjustments your phone may have and try again. You should also make sure you have your phone software up to date. Thanks!

You can change sources, but not power the receiver on/off from the phone.
Can you hook up your phone, with Spotify, and change
You can only use Spotify through the BT Audio source on the remote app.

I need help from you because I have a KENWOOD KDC-BT51U device that has Bluetooth that works only when making a call on my phone LG m322 I tried this application in the video but it does not work what is the solution my friend and I wish you success in your life💗💗
If you're experiencing issues with bluetooth please make sure that the receiver is on the most recent update available for it (we have videos on how to update the receiver as well to help with that if needed) The model you mentioned is not a model available here in the states, so if issues persist I would recommend reaching out to your local KENWOOD dealer to see if they could provide additional trouble shooting. if you are having issues with Bluetooth connections. here are a few things to try.
Check for updates on your receiver software.
Check for updates on your phone's software.
Delete previously connected phones from receiver memory.

Kenwood Remote app is outdated garbage and does not work! The application needs to be updated to work with current IOS and Android software.
