Ive just been smashing bottles on my head until now. Thankyou

I always just threw them at my cat.
Classy! 💪🏿

Ancient Romans: what you mean, you don't like sweet wine?
40 year old ancient roman: The wine is supposed to be sweet?
@@DestructionOfRomethat comment has legs and a pleasant aroma
Chicago: nah weze likes the lead, it keeps us cultured
Not the Romans still getting roasted a couple millennia later 😂
It's gotta be better than Franzia
and I've been brute forcing that f'n corkscrew this whole time. now I know what all the foldy bits are actually for
Exactly me
Same but I drank wine maby 2 times in my life lol
What haha
LOL
Actually though
I worked at a wine bar and we sold retail as well. Our wine salesman was a wealth of knowledge. I was about 23 at the time, I’m 37 now. Anyways, that man taught me so much about wine and made me love wine. Best piece of advice he gave me is that the best bottles you’ll ever taste all cost less than $30. The people that buy these ridiculously priced bottles of wine are just suckers. Unless you truly know what you’re doing your best bet is always a cheaper bottle.
I think the sweet spot for value and taste/quality is £30 max. Saying that I recently was lucky to try some £70 ish ones and you could tell the difference, it was mind bogglingly good.
The only issue for my workplace is since were a restaurant we mark up stuff almost 150% sometimes, we have bottle of vodka that we get wholesale for $27 per bottle and will sell the whole bottle for around $120
You're a perfectly aged bottle of human imo 😂
Also, I bet $30 or less is correct. I bet there are a few that taste great, the rest is swill in a bottle and has the placebo effect making people think they're tasting money. The sad part is, they are tasting money.. and money flavored wine tastes like crap 🤣
$30 in the store, but more around $70-$100 in a nice restaurant.
The best bottle of wine I ever had was a cheap one, of course that taste never came again when I bought more 😒
I finally learned how to use that tool that I’ve had in my drawer for a decade now
THAT. WAS. AMAZING.
Saw my neighbor cutting the lawn this morning too.
This day is really starting to be a treat.
Bless 🙌
Aaah never knew there was a second lever/notch on the corn screw - thank you 🙌
@Brent Smith exactly. Always buy the hinged ones. I have no idea why they even sell the ones that don’t have it.
Pulltaps brand is the original one of these and the best. Everything else is a knockoff but if it's similar enough, then it still works nearly as well
@Brent Smith same. super compact and does beer and wine bottles the fastest
@@NateBee it's because the old ones didn't have the first notch only the second notch so you would pull the entire cork out at once rather than pushing it back down and going up again.
i would also like to screw corns.
And here I was just chewing the ends of like The Grinch. I've learnt so much
Ha. I've been screwing it in and then pulling straight out really hard, I usually give up and leave it half open.
Wow ok Forest
Bro same! I didn’t know you could use those side things to remove the cork gracefully. I always pull it hard and hope to catch it at the last moment. It’s 50:50 if I get it just right and not lose the bottle or end up spilling half the liquid
Me too 😂
@@cereal-killer4455after spilling some red wine all over my white sweater and the carpet last night, I can confidently say I’m only here because I got tired of brute forcing it 😂
My mother taught me this at the age of 6. Shout out for my reviews.
_"we don't want any lead in our wine"_
*Wine Glasses:* Lead Crystal
Lead crystal doesn't leach lead into the drinks though.
@@cr4zyj4ck tf, yea it absolutely does.
Most crystal glasses today are lead-free due to public concern. But it wouldn’t matter, as wine does not sit in a glass long enough for lead to leach. This would only pose a health risk if you are storing liquid in a vintage leaded-crystal container for weeks or months.
@@cr4zyj4ck Why even risk it?
@@St8Genesis It does a little bit, it leaches more if unused but if it sits in water for awhile or gets used regularly it doesn't. I think regardless they're pretty safe, but personally I still would just avoid.
This was timed perfectly for me, as I was just given a bar tools set with one of these in it!
As a career bartender/ Server. I wish you the most of money. (I'm only watching this because it's in my endless scrolling of shorts) A word of advice. If you avoid house politics and stay your lane. Always smile and don't! Don't go to every party you're invited to. (House politics begin at party time) if you remain a floating butterfly you get treated as such. No one wants to swat a butterfly. You spread your dollar 💵 sized wings and fly!!!
Ok, my grandpa had one of those laying around and I knew it was for openning a vine bottle because of the screw but I never knew what that small blade and that metal thingy on the other side was for. It's nice finding that out after all those years.
This is the first time I have ever understood how to open a wine bottle with one of those. Thank you.
This guy’s passion for wine is very acidic with a hint of cedar notes on the back of your pallet. 💯💯
thank you, this helped me avoided bothering my roommate to open it for me :)
I’ve looked all over this box and couldn’t find any of those parts. Whatever, I found the opening and now am drunk.
Me: it’s a corkscrew
Som: it’s a helix
Hands down, my favorite bottle opener. I carry it more places than my heart medication.
Isn't wine just a type of heart medication?
I worked at a hotel for 5 yrs, and we would always hand these out to guests whenever they asked for a wine opener. I never figured out how they even worked until today. I never had to use one cuz we had an electric one, so thank you for this vid
I'm french and i'm just astonished that this needs to be explained, here everyone, even kids, know how to do this
This is actually helpful becaus quite a few of the Recent Generaions dont know how to use a Classic Cork Puller.
Thank you, Sir…henceforth no more wrestling with the feisty wine bottle! 😂👍🏽❤️🙏🏾🇳🇵
I so needed this instructional video on how to open a bottle of wine. Thanks
This video was life changing! I just opened my bottle of moscato like a pro. Cheers🥂
Only thing: before fully removing the cork-untwist the screw and remove cork with hands not coming in contact with the bottom.
Nice and fancy but I would always rely on the shoe taping technique followed by biting the cork out. Way more traditional here in France
Well. Then make a video to explain
@@roneilprasad It sounds pretty self explanatory to me
J'ai aucune idée de quoi tu parles là, tu l'ouvres avec tes pieds ta bouteille ? 😂
Thought this was gonna be a wine snob video... but I was wrong 😂 actually really helpful
I usually pull the cork out as hard as I can. Didn't know I could use the metal part to pry it out.
Wow can’t wait for how to open a packet of crisps next week!

Valuable information!
Ive had the same 'waiters friend' for 25yrs.
Finally something usefully learned.
Love this kind of bottle opener. But I was cutting the foil all wrong. Learn something new every day.
Always nice to have subtitles in the center of a screen
Love this man! Extremely knowledgeable 🙏🏼✨He makes it look very easy and elegant- Thank you Andre✨
I worked at a winery and I will say without a doubt that these are the best bottle openers ever. You can open a bottle in 15 secs max with no issue
i cant believe there is a need for clips like these in this world...
Thanks bro, worked exactly as shown
Perfect way to open a bottle of wine! 👏👏👏
The chill version of the cigar guy lol
I learned this at like 8 years old, Italian moms. 😂
Same haha
Bravo 👌L'ho imparato anche io quando avevo 8 anni 😉
Never new this always wondered what it was for thank you
This popping on my feed before Christmas seems strategic… 😂 thank though lol
Thank youuuu~🎉
Learn something new everyday! Thanks 👍🏼
My favourite type of bottle opener.
I use to bartend and the easiest quickest way to remove the foil sleeve was to grab the whole sleeve with one hand, squeeze tight and spin the the bottle with other hand and off it comes. Then use the corkscrew to remove cork.
Inserting the corkscrew off-center is an underrated tip. It feels intuitive to insert the tip of the corkscrew dead center, but the center of the corkscrew is actually in the middle of the spiral, not at the tip.
Depends on your corkscrew. Good quality server corkscrews ensure the tip is in the center.
I feel like I know this since I have consciousness. So much bottle of wine open arround me. Thanks France.
Thanks! I really appreciate the content you provide.
I got a dozen of these, finally I know how to use it thanks.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
Now do tuna cans, always wondered how to do those
How many times did you watch this
Me : Yes !
Former bartender here, on almost all bottles of wine you can simply pull the sleeve off by pulling straight up and save lots of time.
GREAT DIRECTIONS!! thanks ☺️
Wow. Wouldn’t figure it out without that one
The actual screw part of the corkscrew is called a "worm". I've never heard someone call it a helix before
Always wondered what those levers were, revelation!
For couple of years now my method of taking off the foil is hold the entire foil around the neck and slowly twist and pull until I get it off completely clean
Great info. Thank you Sir
Omfg this is absolutely mind-blowing and life changing. Wow. Bravo, I smell a Nobel prize for this. What an invention. You must've patented recently huh
Wow this was quick, it usually takes me for "eever" to do it
"And you don't want to have any lead in your wine." Rome 2000 years ago: "I beg your pardon?"
Loll when you learn all the parts it’s like discovering a new way of life
Next do "How to open a stick of gum like a pro."
I don't have much interest in wine but I do enjoy listening to this guy talk
those types of wine keys are also called 2 step wine keys/wine tools/etc. there are other ones that you only do 1 step versus 2 steps. 2 steps can be easier to use for beginners and/or for people who have a tendency to accidentally break the cork.
Then there's the 2 prong type and a fancy device that injects nitrogen without removing the cork so that you can take your time finishing a bottle of wine over several days.
Thanks, working at a hotel at the moment and the first time i tried this at a table in front of customers was so embarrassing. Tougher than i expected
Thank you!!!
No foil cutter required, just pull the entire foil sleeve off with your hand!
Agreed thats probably the easiest way to do it, but it’s a nicer presentation for a restaurant or if you have house guests to cut the foil cleanly.
"Were gonna make 2 cuts"
Proceeds to make 3 cuts
Omg, I totally push it down to get the cork out, up makes much more sense HAHAHA
Bruh finally i know how to use this correctly
My college roommates were struggling to open a bottle of wine so i came in and used this exact method. They were amazed because i don't even drink. Then i told them about the bottle a day my dad went through for the past decade
- “This is called a foil cutter”
**me, opening close to 100% canned foods with it thinking it’s a small can opener**
- Oh, that’s what it’s supposed to do!
Wow. I really learned something today 😂
Perfection
I really don’t like you for making this look so easy. Thanks for the tutorial ❤️
SMOOTH!
As a true annoying French man, you should never go pass the last second swirl of the screw, thus preventing any risk of splitting the cork.
Completely true. Shows how little he actually deals with good wines.
Also, all the higher end restaurants I've been to cut the foil at the top, not below the ridge: Boyer Les Crayères, Taillevent, Le Bernardin, Per Se, Jean George, etc.
Cutting below the ridge is easier when you have to cut a bunch of bottles at once. Doing it at the top doesn't expose any wine to the foil if you know how to pour, and if you do it patiently it looks neater with a better presentation.
@@eshellef lol nobody cares what restaurants you have been to
@@eshellefdude he’s talking about the cork not the foil!
Was giving me hard times to Open, thanks
Yeah not gonna lie I just twist the shoe wrapping till it’s loose and it pulls right off in one piece lol
Yep been opening wine like this for years, then someone gave me a compact cordless opener with a cutter. One press of button cork is removed effortlessly. Charges by USB. Never without it. Great gadget.
Total noob who hates wine but now needs a bottle for a recipe. Realized I actually didn’t know how to correctly open a bottle. Thank you for this!!
The good ol WINE KEY!
I've never seen someone try to make a wine key seem fancy before, hilarious thank you.
How did he make it seem fancy? He’s just using a wine key lol they’re like $5
I've seen a guy smash the neck of the bottle with sledge hammer while his son held the bottle in place. I think this is fancy enough for some :D@@Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa369
So smooth
Now I gotta watch another video how to close the bottle lol
"You don't want any lead in your wine."
Ancient Romans: "I'm gonna do what's called a pro-drinker move"
Thank you thank you thank you
I have always thought the last part was a bottle opener, because it fits, but okay, I have learned something new today :)
It's both, one side serves for the lever, the other is the bottle opener
so many fancy terms to make this seem fancier than just opening a bottle of wine
Now I know how to properly use one
I know how to open wine now yay
Helix 😂. Ok mr wine dispensing technician!
I remember the 80s was lead good times. I used to roll the lead foil when my parents finished the bottle, and chuck it at my little brother. Fun times! The 90s stopped the fun😞
