Great stuff. Get the DVD folks. It has helped me more than words can express
thanks!
Scott calls so good, he had that train gobbling at him
hahahahaha.. Thanks my friend.
Thanks Scott...great job explaining the intricacies of this art. Helped me a lot.
mhh5775 Your welcome!
@grillmaster-I could write a book on the subject, but in a nut shell, start with the basics-yelping mixed with clucking. Do not overcall, only call enough to keep him coming. If he hangs up, get more excited with cutting and excited yelping. If the excited stuff doesn't get him coming, then scale back to the soft stuff and tease him a bit, with coy,shy approach calling sparingly. Hope this helps, there is truly a novel's worth that could be written-but that's a start....
Imagine having this CZcams deal when you were a kid, i needed this in the 2000's! Only other way is a family or friends of the family that don't always want to put you up on the real deal game!
LOL. right. I had a vinyl record and 1 cassette tape.
I have been cutting with that lip action as u say for years cuz I thought that was the way It was supposed to be done. I always had mixed responses from gobblers. Sometimes they would react and sometimes they wouldn't. I'm gonna try this approach this spring thanks for the video on how to cut properly.
Reggie Helton Sounds great! Best of luck!
This spring will be my first time turkey hunting and this video made a lot of sense. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching! Glad it helped!
Maybe the best sounding mouth call users I’ve ever heard
Thx brother
excellent job explaining the process of cutting.
Thanks bro.
Scott thanks for doing these videos.
your very welcome Joshua.

Mighty fine. 👍
Thx bud
Damn savage I love it
Thanks DON!!
Did you notice the hawk swooping in on your calling at 3:16? Cool...
@Melia804 You bet! Have you checked out my full length instructional DVD?
Thanks for tips Scott.
Yes sir! Thanks for watching and thank you! SORRY this was delayed! I am seeing comments I didn't know were there.
You bet Joey! Sorry for the delayed response!
@prostaffer2 i just cant get the sharpness, i dont know how my mouth should be and when i slow the yelp its not a cut
@juicedlemons what problem are you having? Remember work on rhythm and then you can pick up your speed as you get better.
@Melia804 I can kee on a V for hunting purposes by finding that sweet spot or by getting on the back of the call. For general fall hunting I use a ghost cut or cutter style call. I'm not sure what a stunt call is, I've never heard that terminology used. Thanks!
@Melia804 look at the info block below the video. You very welcome.
that cutt is realistic as they come at least my birds in SC ! any word you bring up from diaphram help while cutting - tick tic-tick - tick any word you use that could help me make mine sharp like that ? same for a cluck? enjoy all ya videos scott thanks bubba !
Thank you Tyler! I usually don't use the word association deal, but if it were a word it would be "tuck" accentuating the K at the end to chop the note off. Good luck.
@juicedlemons-it's just a quick burst of air, shot on the reeds of the call, regulated by your tongue. Although I not an advocate of the word association style of teaching mouth calling, the word "tick" may be a way for you to create the sharper tone your trying to achieve......
Honestly, I'm not saying anything. Just a short burst of air. Watch closely as I start yelping and then start shortening the note of the yelp until I attain the sharp note of the cut.
Thanks man that makes more sense.
+Apostle John Bailey Great to hear it bud!
Man your awesome I hope to get that good one day
Thx buddy. You can!
Can you explain how to place your tongue. You say you have to move it fast, but is it the tip of the tongue the back or all of it.
It's just an upward movement to trap the air. NOT the tip of your tongue. Basically the middle to slightly forward part of your tongue.
thats some hella good cutting man.. what call is that?
Thanks bud! It's my Woodhaven Scott Ellis New Energy split v.
Scott Ellis nice ill have to get one. thanks..
I am having such a hard time cutting. I can yelp just fine but cutting is incredibly hard. Practice almost daily and still can't get it down.
+Toua Lo Have you gotten any better bud? What problems are you having?
yeah actually can now cut and I kinda did it on accident haha. Thanks Scott Ellis
Awesome!!!
Scott Ellis yeah but not nearly as good as you though. It's very impressive!
Thanks buddy.
What call do you recommend??
Woodhaven New Energy
@Sndo9 Give a tad bit more tongue pressure.
Thanks bud I appreciate it!
It's broke down as I stated in the vid. 1,2,1,2,1,2 it's what I call a burst. My DVD has much better explanation and video. Thanks!
what are u saying to cut what word are u saying
Breath the word "KICK" and you'll get it! Thanks.
@HuntQuestwithScottEllis lol that was 13yrs ago oh i got it lmao
