City council meeting descends into chaos once again

- A special sitting of the City of Johannesburg council was interrupted by chaos over voting procedures on 18 January 2022. Members of the EFF and ANC say they are the Speaker Vasco da Gama’s prisoners and demand a secret ballot when voting for a chair of chairs and portfolio committee chairs.
Oh wow 😒acting like idiots after he has explained to them. Like children throwing tantrums and yet services needs to be delivered. They are so selfish
What did he explained that suggest why voting by secret ballot should not happen. The same DA wanted secret ballot to vote Zuma out. It is important that one avoid setting the wrong precedence.
The only idiot here is Vasco DA Gama who is use his power to force the coalition preferred candidates to those Chairperson positions...
what scares me here is, who votes for such people to represent them!!

Why don't DA allow secret votes/ballots. Only wanted it to remove Pres Zuma, when it suits them come on.

Do all people from Townships behave the same? I have seen people from western and Asian countries doing the same thing in parliament but are not from Townships, stop using people's background to define them rather state their behaviour as you see them.

These disruptive council members should be prohibited from returning to council for a month. If this was any other workplace, they'd all be fired and fined long ago.
Hopefully this obstructive behaviour backfires as most South Africans see through this ploy.

Why is so hard for the speaker to grant secret ballot because he was created on secret ballot,and the is no rules that say they can't be voted with secret ballot
In 2017, the constitutional court ruled in favor secret ballot when the UDM approached the court for it. So now what is the problem with secret ballot? I think the speaker is abusing his powers.
Then the ANC and EFF should approach the courts. and not disrupt these sittings

Kodwa ke the "secret ballot" voting system only make sense for me and this has been an issue for years whether in these Council sittings even in parliament. Maybe it is time they address this secret ballot issue.
DA must stop been arrogant and sit with the EFF down so they can have dialog, so they give ANC chest pains

The ANC vowed they will not go into a coalition with the EFF. And the EFF claimed their goal was to oust the ANC. Then both of them reveal their deceitful behaviour the first opportunity they get. Residents must rise up and protest to the ANC and EFF who have betrayed the voters.
