As a master plumber I watched this twice to figure out how it worked. He's removing a compression fitting sleeve with the force of it's own nut. Genius leverage tool
Works well, unless the olive is over tightened as sometimes they are. Then the puller fucks up the copper and you can't get a new olive over the copper. So in a nut shell if the olive isn't over tightened just work it off with water pump pliers, saves going to the van getting your drill out etc.. But what ever works for you.
Agreed, I have one of these and it’s so easy, to add in case you don’t know, this is designed to remove an olive ring on a pipe that is difficult to remove. Excellent and saves you so much time when you need it the most
I've had mine for a number of years, the only difference mine doesn't have the option to use a drill,I emailed Monument if they could supply me with with the item but they never got back to me,never mind, still a great bit of kit.
Monument do a snip version too that looks like a set of pliers with a ring in the middle that goes over the olive you just squeeze and the olive is cut off in half. Easy thann this tool
Amazing but doesn't work when the fitting is overnighten and the olive creates a dent in the pipe. You also need to have with you a tool that can cut the olive
I had a helper that had one of those 20 years ago. It twisted by hand though. I didn’t believe it was going to work and he wasn’t sure if it would, but it did. I finally bought one about 4 months ago.
@@TrickyTree84 solder or threaded. And union connection at the rad yes. Not that I dont trust compression, its just not what's mostly used around here.
I just found out today after 45 years of struggle …. Monoblock kitchen taps Horseshoe backing plate manoeuvres from the top of the sink …. You put the mechanism through the top of the sink then tighten the Fucin nut underneath 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ .
I don't get it. (USA😆) Will this work to remove a 1/2" copper compression ferrule? Or another term: compression cap adapter? Usually those ferrule are crimped down on the pipe so hard they deform the pipe. This will pull it and straighten the pipe enough to accept the hub of a new fitting?
Anyone got the link or the exact name of the product? Could have done with this a week ago doing 10 painted and as old as they come brass olives on 15mm copper 😢😢😢 Best regards, Scott. ✌️🙏✌️

Only works if the olive isn't on tight , if it is this will damage the pipe
Had mine for just over a year and it’s still working like new definitely a good tool for your kit

Yes but situations you cannot get that in though

Hello mate, you could easily just ptfe the new olive. Still be a dent with olive splitters too
Looks loads better with the new head
Screwfix olive puller. Amazing tool. I don't use mine with a drill though.

A spot of WD40 on the olive helps before removing it.
