Thank you so much, Walter Jehne, for painting this other perspective on how we can balance climate immediately as farmers - not waiting for the government - to buffer the extremes of weather that indeed seem to accelerate in the second half of my life. I feel empowered in my earlier chosen farming methods, since you backed them up with science, and I will keep implementing them full force on my land and hopefully inspire others to do so as well: no till, no bio-cides, always cover crop and mulch, harvesting the rain, planting trees, also on the pastures, manage the grazing, etc. You are so right: The CO2 narrative is not enough and is rather depressing (and not only because it is showing up as a global CO2 tax on my yearly energy-bill in the Netherlands; as if collecting taxes for the UN would be a solution).
