  • Participants of our Summer Transition Program visited a local mainstay in Queens, Fuzi Pasta Co., to learn how to make their signature fuzi-shaped pasta, as well as learn a special napkin folding technique used in the hospitality industry. During their trip, participants had fun, and enjoyed a delicious three-course meal prepared by Chef Franco Raicovich, which included a meatball appetizer, caprese salad, and pasta trio.
A special thanks to Chef Franco Raicovich, and our Queens Director of Fundraising, Doreen DiLeonardo, for giving our participants a truly memorable experience.
Our Summer Transition Program prepares high school sophomores and juniors for college life by teaching independent living skills, career exploration, mobility instruction, and more, all in a safe environment up at VISIONS Center on Blindness. Each week, participants go on field trips like this one, to put their skills to use, learn about the community, and enjoy unique experiences.
