    Take this advice, get a 2” receiver welded at the rear of the trailer, get a heavy duty hitch rack or build one that slides in the receiver. Mount the chipper on it with some form of hold down. You now have a removable chipper that works like a chip truck/tow chipper when it’s needed and still have a functional trailer. It would make what you’re doing a lot more efficient/effective than wasting half the box.

  • @edsida
    @edsida Před 4 lety +6

    The nice thing about the compact chipper is while there is a dump run going on, you can still chipp on to a large tarp.

BUT. we just do treework. I dont make no landscaping. i bought te TW230 Chipper. But with the Jansen GTS you have a good one. Wish you just the best. Greetings from Germany

    I have the same model here in the UK and it's a fantastic machine .Keep the blades sharp though .You will know when they need doing as won't pull in very well .Would be nice if someone came up with a way of powering the wheels somehow and use it's own 12v supply as can be a pain getting up a ramp and is a hefty machine to move any great distance on your own .Would that be the icing on the cake then for it . Well worth the money and investing in .
    My mate has the Jansen hydraulic petrol log splitter and that is an amazing bit of kit .I have frightened myself by the power of it when splitting some huge rings of oak for such a compact small machine .

    This chipper/shredder is German manufactured (so we're told). Interesting (but annoying for Europeans) that its cheaper to buy this in the USA, than in Europe! Economies of scale can't apply in this instance, as the EU market is 20% larger than the contiguous United States!

      From the manufacturer, to me, today:
      "
      Customers who install a stronger engine destroy 80% of the machine. Stronger motor strains this too much. Bearing, shaft, housing etc. All these factors are adjusted to the installed motor. To replace this with a stronger one is idiotic and absolutely not necessary."

    Hi Keith, love your video's! I was curious, it's been about a year since you made this Jansen chipper video. I've been looking at chippers and I've been between continuing to rent a Vermeer BC700XL for $230 a day when need to, buying a Vermeer BC700XL slightly used for close to $20K or something like your setup. The bulk of my chipping is brush, 2-3" or smaller and the logs get tossed right in the dump trailer.
    I was curious how your chipper is holding up and if you have any comments on the performance or durability? Appreciate your time, and keep up the dynamite videos!
