It's simple, stop acting like an American rushing through the place like a coffee addicted hyperactive person with ADHD and go to a terrace or café to drink or eat something and do it there. The enjoyable thing in our burgundic culture is walking around while enjoying a few breaks with good drinks & food. Around the noon you'll have lunch anyways so that's one moment, before that you can enjoy a coffee with a piece of pastry or a cocktail/beer/wine on a summer day, in the afternoon you can have something sweet accompanied with a coffee or some tapas or snacks if you prefer savoury and then its evening and you'll go out to eat again and enjoy the art of eating two to three courses slowly while talking to eachother, which gives you 1-2 hours to dump your load in their toilet.
That's like 3-4 potty breaks from the late morning till the evening, most people should be fine with this.
