Make this jumpsuit from almost any dress or cut the legs short and make it into a romper perfect for Summer! As I was sewing this together I was shocked with how easy this was. And if you are lucky enough to find a dress that already has a zipper then its literally going to take you less than a half hour! Can't wait to make a romper sometime very soon.
Can you do this again soon...this time with a solid pattern so that we can see exactly what you reference when you're sewing. Thanks
I did it! This is the only tutorial I saw where you don't cut the top off and reattach it later, so thanks.
Love this but I'm stuck on creating the crutch area too. Have rewatched so many times. I get folding in half but can't understand the cutting crotch area so not to disturb the waist area etc...if there is a detailed written tutorial that would be great. Have tried on dolls mock-up nearly there but not really there. TIA
Omg I've seen so many dress to romper refashions and people were just kind of eyeballing how they wanted the crotch area to be. Yes and I followed those other bad videos making a weird fitting bubbley butt jumpsuit that just looked horrendous. Lol! Hoping this way works better for me!

This is so cute. Just had this thought because i can never find a jumpsuit that fits right and thought about all the dresses i have that i dont wear. This is brilliant and that is such a beautiful fit.

You can use the excess fabric cut from the skirt and make a tie for the waist too! How neat! Can’t wait to make this!

Kat Burns I'm stuck on the crutch bit too as I can't see properly from the demo. Where to start the crotch cut from without affecting the waist etc.
So you pin the crotch seem all the way around from front to back, then see the whole thing down by flipping it in its side after pinning it

I'm confused. Am I supposed to fold the seams together so that the dress is folded in half? Or when the seams are matched together is the dress sideways?

Great tutorial! Could I just cut the skirt in half to make the legs without cutting the shape of the crutch since it will have a very loose fit? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks!
Adela Davis you might be able too! It just depends on the dress. If it doesn't work out then it's easy to just seam rip or turn right side out and cut and sew up the crouch seam! So it's worth a try.

How much should I charge
The thumbnail was an orange super wide thing. But when I get here it's a fitted black thing with a zipper :( And no demonstration of the backside, when the cutout for the crotch was identical front and back so this is extremely relevant.

Do I line the pants up with the waist?
I would measure where the waist lines up to the dress and where your pattern ( or pants) lines up as well that way you can determine where to place the pants for example if you are working from an empire waist dress but then using low rise jeans it just won't add up so you just basically have to measure where u want you to crotch relative to the measurements I hope this makes sense
