- Today on Hearts of Iron 4 I try the new Star Wars mod - Palpatines Gamble. It's very hard to make a mod like this work for HOI4 but this might be my favorite new mod of 2021 so far.

But they are just clones. Property to be sold and bought, thats all they are.

But they were, that's like the whole point of the Clone army. They're as expendable as the droids, just two armies of robots set up by Palpy.
@@rossmabon4472 They were made to be expendable, but the problem is, a clone is just like a twin. Just because they have the same genetic code doesn’t mean they are all the same. They’re all individuals. Each clone that dies is a life lost, just the same as conscripts in WW2.
@@Isometrix116 You are looking at this as a humanist view. As far as their creator Emperor Palpatine, the Grand Army of the Republic is the same as the Droid army of the Separatist Alliance. A means to an end, expendable and only exists to fulfill it's purpose. I will say that the Clone army was likely considered less expendable than the Droids as they were the ones to wipe out the Jedi. But ultimately the Clone army was expendable, a living means to an end.

Their Dreadnaught are mediocre maybe that's how in early war CIS won most of the battle

Fun Fact: Jar Jar was originally supposed to be Count Dooku and Palpatine’s secret ally. Evidence can be found with him secretly using Jedi mind tricks to have someone speak in the background and he was actually helping Palpatine in the Senate.

It could be really neat to see you playing again. The CIS show the other side and Mandalore (the moon ones) have a lot of content while being a bit less overwhelming.

This mod made me realize that a Star Wars RTS would be amazing if done right
This was fantastic. I love Star Wars and seeing you go through the universe in classic Rambler fashion was wondrous. I’d love to see you play more of this and see how off-script you can get from the movies!

My internet is trash so sadly I am not in the same boat
It's Russaan reformation which is essentially laws that demilitarised the Republic which was why they had no standing army. It also placed restaurant on building any military shops over a certain size, certain types of weapons and with certain types of thrusters. It's like the British naval restrictions in regular HOI4 but on steroids.

PLEASE if you read this Alex, play the mod World War Dinosaur. It’s not finished and might be dk though abandoned but it’s so cool it completely changes everything about hoi4. As a dinosaur enthusiast as well as history too, it’s amazing.

I actually played a game of this with some friends in multiplayer, and it wasn't too bad! (although when the senate and purchasing menu is opened it opens for both players)

Alex do some Star Wars: Empire at War Thrawns Revenge mod. It is amazing and very fun. (Also you could use the Ad Revenue from all the videos you milk from it)
Seeing comments about EaW in the wild makes me want to cry tears of joy.
Edit: and I would would say TR is the best mod to use as an example of modern EaW.

The things you found annoying with the naval system is not because of the mod, but how the normal MtG navy system works.
That and he doesn't understand how it works. On anything other than naval invasion support the fleets would move to the correct sea zone.

If they made a Star Wars mod for this, then it stands to reason that they will add additional mods for this to add things like the Old Republic and other eras of the Star Wars mythos.
Would love to see a second playthrough for the CIS only the chunk can bring the glory of the Confederacy back.

Ruusan combat restricitons is from the Ruusan reformations after the last Sith wars. Meant to decentralize the military and have eatch planet have their own security forces. Pretty mutch the Threatly of Versailles if France and Britian also only allowed them selfs to have like 100k men eatch in their armies.
