To be honest, the result is not the products fault at all. It is purely due to the different levels and hues in the hair prior to dying. For silvers you need to have an even canvas. Hair colors can't perform magic, they don't deposit more color or lift more, where your hair is different. They have specific amounts of color to counteract the specific amounts of yellow and orange tones left in your hair. Silver is an especially notorious color for coming out uneven, because it is a light color; so the amount of purple and cool tones are measured to only counteract small amounts of yellow, meaning your hair has to be very light to start with, and it has to be very even. You could have prevented this by giving yourself a shadow root: putting a darker silver, grey, purple or black on your roots, everywhere that you saw the darker, more yellowish blond. The silver in the mids and lengths turned out great, but those where almost a white blond. Silver is a neutral color. So you need to neutralize your existing color by mixing in the opposite color. You can imagine that a concentration that neutralizes one intensity of base color cannot possibly neutralizer a higher intensity. It's like mixing an acidic and a basic solution. If you get the concentrations and amounts just right, they will cancel each other out and make a neutral pH. But if you change one solution's pH, the other solution cannot neutralize perfectly anymore. The balance will be off to one side or the other.
Finally some answers!! Thank you so much for your response to this video. No disrespect to her at all, but I was thinking the very same thing (it's not the color's fault...right?)...I have been coloring my hair for years but I've never went silver or gray. I JUST purchased this particular brand and shade a few days ago and I decided to bleach it first...wait a couple days and then go in with the color. I'm thinking even though...I may still have the same problem and end result as she got here because my hair always tends to go a bit brassy at the roots when I bleach it....so I'm going to try your suggestion (dying the roots first a smoky darker gray or even a purple or darker violet) and then go in with the silver on the rest.

@@daynal9594 Sounds like a great plan. Yeah, for any lighter silver or grey, or any light color for that matter, is: if you can see different tones in your hair before, you will also see them in the end result, unless you specifically counteract them. A darker shade can cover up some irregularities, but for light colors you need an even base color or you need to spot-correct before or after. Or choose a different color.
@@daynal9594I’m a guy I did my hair metallic but I left it in for 4 hours and some turned super metallic and some hair went light blond but it was due to my roots being leas saturated came out better than I expected

A Wella T14, T18 toner would’ve given her a dark grey on the roots/light gray on the ends result without the damage. I don’t get this product. What is it? It’s not strong enough purple to be a toner for blondes, but it fails as a haircolor. Even temporary pigments would’ve given her a better overall result.

Had my share of this happening to be before how my roots did not take the bleach and color as well as my ends because the bottom was bleached way more. You still rock it for sure!

I figured out, your hair has to be completely bleached out for gray and silver (especially silver) to come out like the box picture.. I bleached out to a brassy blonde and did the smoky silver and it did great, but that is a bit darker, next time I am gonna do this color and then work in the smoky from Loreal, I am in love with the smoky silver, but want some lighter in with it.

I think it worked better than the splat brand. I didn't have luck with splat, very blotchy and left some of my hair purple toned. Other parts were still golden blonde too

I love having silver hair and I am about to go back to it, might as well since most of my hair is going gray already, lol. When my son was in kindergarten, I accompanied the class as a chaperone for a field trip and one of the kids asked me if I was his Grandma because of my silver hair. 😆

@@minsbeauty My favorite is Pravada Chromasilk but I'm going to try the Splat line of silvers. Thinking about doing a dark gray/silver ombre. I've used other Splat colors and like how much longer the color lasts. The Pravada silver has great staying power in my experience too. I'm about to do the last bleaching before I dye it again. I did try the Good Dye Young Killswitch and was not impressed. At all.

im not sure. ive used other brands that i did the same thing to prep but they worked way better then this.

I tried this color and it made my hair super dark grey and it looked awful I had even bleached my hair beforehand and it was still that dark. I just used color ops and it took out ALL of the grey and I was back to blonde
Same exact problem with this product. It developed very uneven and was actually stronger on areas where I did not leave it in the longest. To start out my hair was a consistent bleached color. I wont be using this again but at least the brass is gone.
Oh no.... that's too bad. It seems that most people have this issue. I did find one by Suavecita in the shade Whirlwind that worked beautifully!! I used it and did split silver and pink recently and it turned out so good. Feel free to check out that video!

Yes I tried that product before it didn't work out for me. My is black but I wanted that color metallic silver I thought I'm doing it wrong but watching few videos about this made me think not to buy it again. I asked hair Cuttery for this color they charge $190 for 2 hrs. procces. Any ideas for new hair dye with metallic silver color?

The silver packet is just bleach powder. And I use my own bleach.

Cant blame the product. Youre ends were lighter and drier so they grabbed more color. Youre roots were less stressed and oily. You needed youre hair to be lightened and evenly. This is not the products error. This was youre hairs condition.
It's not that bad, but you probably needed to be a lighter blonde for it to be silver, so your roots didn't lift. I have the same issue.

Yes. Bleach and toner will work soo much better. I was very unimpressed with this color. Glad I could save you the trouble

I am too... I was hoping for that nice silver everywhere ... will not be using this color brand again. I did just finish recolouring my hair using a variety of different arctic fox colors.. turned out super pretty. Video will be up in the next couple days.

Product is garbage I tried it yesterday and I depended on it just to turn my highlights silver What is did was brass out the dark parts of my hair and turned my highlights blue tint

Bleached hair n i get blue streaks.....used toner n purple shampoo as well.......box crap is poop going to sallys online now on.......also** It does state on Box if u have bleached hair to call them first!""*** not sure what they could say but idk i may call them just 2 see lol....

Not yet but i will update when i do hun 🤝🏻💜🚥🚥 But just a trick also i made a baking soda paste with BLUE DAWN DISH liquid and let it sit for 20 mins like a toner sorta it did remove some of the blueish streak though just so frustrating ughh🚥🚥💙🤍💙🤍

I wouldn’t recommend this product personally because when I was done with the dying and washing it off my hair, the crown and tips of my hair were still the bleach color. The only part that turned silver were my sides and roots area.
Also as I was waiting when my hair was being dye, it was a liquidish type compared to other dying products that I have used.

I want silver hair! I brought this product but now that I saw this video, I can see it is not what I imagined or would have expected. Still looking for something that will give me the shiny silver from the roots to the ends.
@@minsbeauty don’t know why you thought silver hair dye would remove the brassy gold in your hair. Look on the back of the box. Do either of those samples even come close to the color of your hair??? No, they don’t. You hair needs to be LIGHT BLONDE.
@@MamaMC4950 actually.. the samples on the back of the box DO actually say that my hair color and even darker with more gold SHOULD turn silver... the sample colors on the box were darker then my hair was to begin with ... and it says it works best with bleached hair... sooo... ... it did not deliver... I have used many other silver hair colors that worked much better. .. if you'd like to see those please do have a watch and let me know at the end which silver hair color product worked the best.. because this one was not it ... thanks for watching tho
Umm you didnt section hair really get to roots or areas.
Just a FYI......you have to be a level 9 (pale YELLOW) or level 10 (white) for the Got2B silver to achieve the color.....the darker yellow-orange (Gold) level 8 really is not compatible with Silver maybe PEWTER ....
Yes.. I agree. For This line to work properly I needed to be lighter.... BUT I have found other products to do a better job starting at the same level....
@@minsbeauty personally after bleaching, I was at level 9 with some level 8.5 (light gold) ....i used Redken Shades EQ to give gloss treatment in 8T (titanium it's a silver/blue background is grey/black with blue tones) ....i bought the same box color and probably need to exchange for their Smokey grey shade.....psrsonally I wanted grey/pewter and I got silvery blonde with the SEQ ..... the good thing about the Redken Shades EQ is that you can use it again and since it is only a 22 3% peroxide it's really less damaging than box color.... I would have went with the box dye but my Scout was too inflamed and my hair had just been through too much...... and that was after using olaplex.....lol....on clients I'm really good....but on myself I try to rush things....anyways .....what color worked well on you??....btw they sell Absolute Perfection at Sallys their version of olaplex and Sallys version of redken SEQ called GVP brand Color Gloss....and GVP has a version of wella toner as well....hope this info comes handy.....just info not suggesting one way or the other
@@KevinJohnson-vm4ju yes... I am the same way ... I always rush things on myself as well ... but when it comes to my clients I don't. I don't usually use box dyes .. I carry the Chenice color line in my shop. But I do like to test products out for youtube... I haven't tried the red Ken shades... I just did an updated silver hair color using the chenice 11CC color and it worked the best out of all of them so far!! I finally have the silver hair I've been trying to achieve haha .. thank you so much for your input !!

You should have toned your hair
There's nothing wrong with this hair dye. The problem was your hair, it was not bleached to the right level for silver, which is level 9/10, really pale yellow. Silver is obtained with a combination of violet and blue pigments, your roots were very orange....what do you get when you mix blue and orange?! Green!! Hence that greenish yellow in your roots. If you really want to get silver hair, you need to bleach it as even as possible,then apply your fav dye/toner on your roots first. Your ends are very porous so they absorb pigments much faster and more intensely than your roots.
I have to agree and disagree.. yes i should have made my entire base all one color first, but the shade my hair was at i have used other products that did a way better job then this one.. so.. i personally wouldn't use this one again .. thank you for watching
I think this one is really a hit,but does not works with these shades of blond.You really need to be well bleached and it'll look exactly like the model's hair on the box.
mine turned out pretty good and i had a mix of light blonds and darker blondes but my darkest color wasn't as dark as hers

Your hair was not light enough when you put the color on there is what happened.
That will never blend in your roots were way too dark. You have to be platinum blonde for that color. I hope your hair better now after three years.

Girl no offense but why do you make hair videos when you clearly don’t know very simple things like that you hair needs to be EVENLY bleached before you do something like silver. Or any color at all really.
