Thanks for Watching and Have a Magical Day! - Zábava
Former Dinoland cast member here. This annoys me so much because there is literally not a group of people in the parks that wanted a revamp of this area more, but this AIN’T IT - I get the popularity of these IPs but do they REALLY stand the test of time or is this going to be another reno that will be dated in less than 10 years?
Smh. I also worked the Tree and that update annoys me as well. Zootopia? Of all the potential animal themed movies Disney has in its library? Really? 😒
I'm sure they'll make it a fun ride, but IMO Indiana Jones is already dated.
I love Dinoland Usa
@@loonytunescrazyi do too. It was one of my favorite experiences during my recent Disney World trip. And i didn’t ride anything. It’s like a retro land to the 1950’s, when everyone was into automobiles and the fuel for them. The whole idea of fossils and fossil fuels, while we currently live in a world trying to get rid of internal combustion vehicles, the whole roadside Americana that Brayden talks about - i think it is FANTASTIC. Yes, I’m a baby boomer. Restaurantasaurus has a terrific staff, the gift shop is super cool, and there are very entertaining little details if you walk around. Plus - what about Donald, Daisy, Chip n Dale, plus Launchpad and Scrooge as dinosaurs? This is such a brilliant thing - chipmunks dressing up as cute dinosaurs and all that - getting rid of it is sheer stupidity.
In my opinion the relevance of the IP shouldn’t matter. I mean they made an Avatar land that is a massive hit not because of the movies. Yes they made a lot of money but the land opened years after the movie and it had largely dropped out of relevance. But the land and rides are amazing so people come.
Another less recent example of this would be Splash Mountain. No one knew the IP but it always had a line and people enjoyed the ride even in December in California when the water isn’t heated and oh it was so cold.
That said I want them to keep themes in tact. We don’t want to see cowboys walking through Tomorrowland just like we don’t want to see Cinderella in Animal Kingdom.
I exactly know what Splash mountain was from , I still got a video of SOTS@@ninjagirl226
I absolutely hate how Disney is just destroying all thematic cohesion with Animal Kingdom. Things like Expedition Everest and even Avatar fit into what the park is about, this replacement just doesn't remotely do that. I get Disney wants IP integration, it's an easy sell, but you need IP that ACTUALLY fits the idea of Animal Kingdom. The fact that none of these additions, save for maybe Encanto with Antonio talking to animals and stuff, involve actual animal-based attractions is just stupid.
It does go along with the DAK theme in that it is another continent like Asia and Africa. I will say though, I don’t think Coco goes and I absolutely love that movie.
I don;t get why they think they need Coco and Encanto here. Disney should keep the integrity of Animal Kingdom and have it be about the animals, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they won't even have any new animals at all.
Putting all the black and brown characters in Animal Kingdom is not a good look Disney.
@@hippopotamusbosch💀💀💀
@@hippopotamusbosch
This is Disney, they will do just that to ram then down our throats and not let up with it just to appease their sugar daddies (Blackrock and other companies like that)
@@hippopotamusbosch
Yeah this is Disney. They would do that to ram them down our throats because their sugar daddies will be happy and give them more money (Blackrock is one of them)
I agree, I would rather see something similar to Lost River Delta from Tokyo DisneySea, and they have Indiana Jones there already. Also, Theatre in the Wild could very well be integrated like the Hangar Stage in Lost River Delta. Don‘t know what’s currently playing there, but a few years ago, they had an amazing nature themed Cirque de Soleil-style show that would fit Animal Kingdom perfectly.
What a disgrace.
The present people in charge of the parks have no idea what they are doing.
FIX Dinosaur, make it better.
Don't eliminate Dinosaur's from your Animal Kingdom Park and replace it with things that have nothing to do with the park.
💯 Agree!
AGREE
Agree. Dinosaur is the best ride at Animal Kingdom in my opinion
*Dinosaurs. (no apostrophe. it's not possessive.)
Unfortunately the ride just doesn't pull guests anywhere near what it should. It never has. Originally they thought it was just the name Countdown to Extinction, but even after the name change/LOOSE movie tie-in the lines never materialized.
Ex-Dinoland cast member here! As sad as I am to see it go, I also feel like its been gone in spirit for a long time. Primeval Whirl closing down took away a lot of the kinestisism. You can't find a Dinoland/Dino Institute t-shirt anywhere in the land. Chester & Hesters doesn't even sell dinosaur themed merch at all anymore! I'll miss Dinosaur the most though. Favorite part of my job was working the photopass after the ride and getting to see all the funny scared faces lol. Rest in peace, Dinoland.
Dinosaur is my favorite ride at Animal Kingdom, it'll be a shame to see it go. Yeah, it's a bit dated, but I love the atmosphere. It reminds me of the various disaster-themed rides that Universal used to have. Can't they just redecorate the outside and say "The Dinosaur Institute is in South America now"?
Repurposing the Dinosaur ride to Indiana Jones is such a colossal waste of time and money. Animal Kingdom already doesn’t have many attractions as it is, why not simply expand the park and keep the Dinosaur ride and refurbish it, once the park expansion is complete. Dinosaurs are a part of earth history. They are the prehistoric animals, I don’t mind them getting rid of dinoland but getting rid of the dinosaur ride is just plain stupid. Indiana jones has nothing to do with animals
Maybe because the dinosaur ride is lame and never was as exciting as its Indy version.
shut up@@michaelsiebielec5554
I can sort of see it being changed to Indiana jones, due to it literally being a reskin of the California ride. It doesn’t fit animals, but the ride was already molded for Indy. It doesn’t make me happy though. I like dinosaur. I really wish that they just, expanded the ride.
@@the_REAL_Worstdreamywinzar They will probably retrofit it more to what is at Disneyland Paris as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril which already has a Central American theme. It would be way too much trouble to come up with something new as all the design talent is at Universal now.
@@the_REAL_Worstdreamywinzar Unfortunately it's not even a true reskin, though very similar it is general layout of the track, even sharing portions of it. It dose have some major deviations in the size/scale of sections as well as a few deleted bends resulting in the track missing about 3 turns that Indi dose have.
Ugh…this doesn’t solve any capacity issues at all. They need to EXPAND not replace. Dinoland is fun. Yes, it could use another ride, but it’s fine otherwise.
NONE of these IPs belong in Animal Kingdom. Encanto would fit better in Magic Kingdom, Coco in Epcot, and Indy in Magic Kingdom or Studios. Why is this so hard for Imagineering? The fans make better concepts and ideas.
Someone who gets it!
I was thinking the same thing
They plan to add capacity by extending the queue lines.
@@writerpatrickBest Comment! 😂
I agree with your placements of the IPs. But I disagree with the dinoland argument. This was always the one part at DAK that made NO sense to me and was ugly as hell. I always hated it and DAK is my favorite park out of all of the 4 WDW parks. So for me it’s a pleasant new beginning for that area. But I just hope they don’t butcher it
The sad part is even with this “big” project Indy will replace Dinosaur and the Coco thing looks like a crappy little carousel or something (replacing Triceratop Spin) so at most ONE new attraction with Encanto, which pretty much does little to nothing in terms of capacity at the park (since same number of attractions when we had primeval whirl).
Plus, outside of Antonio (1 character) those movies have nothing to do with animals. Just more IP being shoved in.
If they’re going to have a South American area in Animal Kingdom, there better be some South American animals (jaguars, tapirs, caymans, etc.)
There are parrots in the Oasis and Discovery Island.
Agreed, i am for this retheme, but they definitely need to keep the animals
Unfortunately I don’t think any are planned for this area, the only animal-like attraction will be an animal carousel apparently, and a few scenes in the Encanto attraction hopefully with Antonio. If they can’t do any real animals I think having some figures or small animatronics of a few critters like a sloth or a capybara just hanging around would be a nice touch but knowing Disney they won’t.
People are gonna get in Animal Kingdom and at the entrance they will see a Dragon and Dinosaur and people are gonna be where the hell are those two at the park?
Exactly. They should have mix Indiana jones with Dinasour and hopefully have enough room for Fantasy Kingdom.
Until they demolish it as well
And a Hispanic magical house. I mean, wtf Disney.
Replace the dragon with a banshee. And the dinosaur with either a Coco spirit animal, or something from Maya tied in with the Indy ride, like a feathered serpent. There, done.
Like, I get that Rohde's original vision was never fully realized. And of course I would have loved to see it. But he's been pushed out, and I think it's time to give up that version of the dream. If the only part of that dream left is the signs, signs are easily replaced.
I think you can argue the logo currently is represented by the park, if you stretch Ikran to dragons. They might be different styles, but they are both mythical flying lizards.
Get rid of Dinoland and that goes out the window.
If you look at the satellite map.. The Coco Attraction is in the exact location the Triceratops Spin is in... So basically just put a roof over it and make the Triceratops look like the animals from Coco
Good point!
Lame but probably what they'll do.
I was thinking the same thing.
@@MickeyViews I hope that means the Boneyard stays with a retheme! I was really surprised to hear you mention removing the best playground on property with no replacement.
Ohhh if that’s the case, maybe they’ll make the Boneyard onto a Coco themed play area! I could see that working!
I too thought that it would just be a retheme of the triceratops spin
It's definitely completely different now. They used to have imagineers now they just have designers that design the easiest and fastest way to add a movie theme whether it's good or not.
What bothers me most isn’t the jamming of unrelated IP into AK, but rather how Disney continues to replace popular, existing attractions rather than make new lands in the parks and add to the volume. We always have to lose something to get something.
So changing one broken ride the Dino to the constant broken Indiana Jones, which you can get in Disneyland. Basically, basically we’re just losing a ride. How sad. I promise you this ride will have more issues than your current one.
But it is in time for the vote.
Zootopia is moving to another park.@@TEN-ve8mp
@@TEN-ve8mp I agree. I cannot stand that film and know that it would not fit in well at all theme wise or style wise. I can draw up how to make Encanto work and believe it will age much better.
@@CUTravel1st I have have nobody once say this is a clone ride. I have only heard of major revamp. Dino is neat but not sure it remains as popular as people believe it to be. To me, most of the lines are due to it being the next ride they can get on and the repairs needed are extensive. It can remain but not sure revamping it as Indy with whole new effects is my definition of failure.
I do not agree with this at all. If Disney wants Central/South America in Animal Kingdom, then they should use the free areas of land they already have access to. Destroying Dinoland is not the answer & I REALLY hope something happens to prevent it from happening.
I agree with you on this
Can’t wait to see this when it’s done in 15 years
That’s an ambitious timeline.
Promise Indy Jones, Coco, and Encanto, one generation later here it is Indy Jones reskin, Coco spinner attraction, and Encanto restaurant.
Boy 15 years, you sure are an optimist.
It took Disney 3 years to build Tron, which they just copied from another park. We won't see this new area for a good 20 the way Disney does things. Universal is building an entire park, hotels etc in 5 years.
@@opchick0597… Maybe they’ll give us a “Hat Box Ghost” in the meantime 😏😏🤣🤣
Encanto doesn't fit the theming and isn't relevant anymore. It's wild how much they're destroying this once great company
Truth. The song is the only thing most people remember or even know about the film.
It was literally the second most streamed movie on Disney plus (and all streaming services)for 2023 right behind Moana.
@@nathancoffman894 and now? Crickets.
@nathancoffman894 Streaming doesn't equal # of viewers. I think of the amount of times my nephew watched Tarzan on DVD. A small % multiplied by dozens can look large.
@@devonalomar9012streaming is easier to track bs how many times someone watches a DVD or VHS.
Aside from that, your point still stands.
Noooo! Not replacing another play area. The Boneyard and dig area is always jammed pack. The lack of play areas in Epcot and Hollywood Studios make them difficult with littles. That AK playground is great. My kids will play there for an hour to get out energy
Epcot has multiple playgrounds. One inside the Mission Space building and one next to the Connections cafe.
I was a dinosaur-obsessed child and my favorite place to go to was the play area in Dinoland. I liked it more than any of the other parks or rides. I'll be sad to see it go for sure :( I feel like getting rid of a play area AND a dinosaur themed area is such a loss to smaller kids.
Agreed on the Boneyard. Our last visit was pretty chill, and i think he spent around two hours there. I really doubt whatever carousel or spinner they replace it with will eat the same capacity of kids.
I'm still not sure how they made Toy Story land at Hollywood without a playground. They could have made it reminiscent of the old Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. It could have been epic. Though with how little shade that area ended up with, maybe that's a blessing. I can only imagine all the kids with heat stroke.
Agreed, especially since this play area is good for older kids too. My tween loves to hang out here!
R.I.P honey i shrunk the kids movie set adventure
I don't think that abandoning the dinosaur theme is the wisest descision. Universal has jurassic park and Disney is removing its own dinosaur theme is a bit odd. Especially a retheme to indiana jones is an interesting descision. The latest indiana jones didn't do so well at the box office.
Yeah I agree, Indiana Jones has virtually no appeal to anyone under 25 nowadays and that latest movie kinda sealed its fate.
@pianoartist8830 Not sure about this, the Indiana stunt show still seems pretty popular considering it is based on the first movie, 40 Years old.
I'm bugged that the park is very heavily moving away from the animal part of Animal Kingdom...?
100% agree! The Dinosaur ride has a great storyline, amazing theming, the dinosaurs are incredibly realistic and the animatronics, when working, are phenomenal. It's truly a memorable experience, well established among fans, and which continues to attract big crowds. I wish Disney would leave this corner of AK to these prehistoric animals, and even do a set of new movies to counter Jurassic Park and in turn update and boost Dinoland... it feels like Disney has no imagination these days, at least in the way it was once famous for :-(
They could never compete with the way Universal handles dinosaurs.
i guess they finally noticed the theme park being built down the road
Yeah 😂 but I'm not impressed with the changes Disney is doing
@@therealventures i happen to really love dinosaur, so for me it's another case of replacing something i like instead of adding something new. In other words, another waste of money like the ride that shall remain nameless in MK.
@batshevanivylerner8582 Yeah, I think a lot of people feel the same way, including myself. Disney isn't listening to the fans. By the time they do decide to do this/finish this tho, their competition will already have a brand new park open to the public!
@@therealventures if Disney builds this as "fast" as they built Tron, Universal will already have finished their future expansions on Epic Universe before Disney finishes.
Yeah ya think Disney?
Sad to lose more original rides to IP. Kids love dinosaurs and I think giving that land more money and attention to expand and improve it would've been a great move.
Parks aren't even focusing on cohesive theming anymore, it's just become "how can we cram random IP into these parks?"
See: the New Orleans "mountain" blasting 1920s jazz in the middle of a land themed after the American west in the 1800s.
Hopefully they go all out with the theming on this one, and it's not a lazy project, but I'm not optimistic. They would need to completely shut down dinoland and retheme the entire land to a central/South American area that's heavily focused on mythical ruins/animals/ etc to really tie in the animal theme and adventure of exploring unknown creatures and lands.
With the right attention to detail and investment this could be an incredible area: can we count on Disney to put this level of care into a project these days?
Nope! 😂
Unfortunately no
I do think the concept art is beautiful. I don't understand why encanto isn't in Magic Kingdom, Coco isn't in Epcot, and Indy isn't in Hollywood studios.
But if they make the land as beautiful as this concept art then it will be something.
However, look at all the Epcot concept artwork and how terrible and lazy that ended up being.
That's ok, they'll just go over to Universal that has a whole dinosaur section. Nice big roller coaster too.
It's one thing to try and wedge in pretty unrelated IPs, as Imagineering can still be very clever and can make some awesome, well-themed stuff, but to do it by removing dinosaurs seems kind of bone-headed (pardon the pun). Dinosaurs are evergreen; children will ALWAYS love dinosaurs. There's no telling if Indiana Jones, Coco, and Encanto will have the kind of staying power of a number of the classic IPs around the parks, but I can assure you they won't have the kind of consistent appeal that dinosaurs would in the long term.
Agree, and if you haven’t seen the films it means nothing as you have no reference to it
@@Mindfuljourneywithme111 which doesn't mean they can't be great and fit in! I do not care for Avatar (the blue people one) at all, but Pandora is one of the best themed lands in the world, and it fits with the theme of conservation of nature. The other IPs would fit with the 'theme' of Latin America, but it would be difficult to make it fit with what I would call the "thesis" of the park itself. Those could much more easily be put into a Colombia land and Mexico at Epcot
Indiana Jones is already dead.
@@iangrimm that too! But personally I think it falls a bit in the same category as Zootopia. The movie is about people and their relationships, rather than animals and nature. I mean, it's closer to that than Coco or Encanto, but still
Just keep the Dinosaur theme and just do the area from scrap
I wish they did this so badly
If Disney cared, they would build another Dinoland before closing the existing one.
I know we’ve been saying for Disney to invest but this is the one thing I was hoping they wouldn’t do. They’re just destroying the thematic integrity of the park and not even increasing capacity by a significant amount. In fact they’re gonna cut capacity for at least 3-4 years.
Problem.. we not getting a expansion.. we’re getting replacements…. Not gaining more space .. smh 🤦♂️
And we're losing space for the probably 5 years it takes them to do this.
Everyone likes Dinosaurs, Indiana Jones appeals to a much smaller audience
I don't have an problem with DISNEY replacing Dinoland with Tropical American's.The problem replacing the
E -Dinosaur attraction with Indian Jones be an huge mistake.
Once again more perfectly fine infrastructure is being torn out for pointless (and, arguably out of place) retheming while the park’s expansion plots sit empty which does nothing for Disney World’s massive struggle with overcrowding.
💯
They should have kept the Dino theme updated Dinosaur but keep it original and put a dino wooden family coaster in the area and updated the dig and eating areas
I'm hoping we can get some native South American animals in this land, it'll help make the land feel like it fits in AK if they include some animal enclosures imo. I hope they replace the Boneyard with something similar, WDW needs some more active attractions like that.
Agreed. I think it makes sense we would at least get some of them. Maybe it's a phase-two addition. It makes sense to wait to bring in animals to the area after the big construction projects are done so they aren't disturbed.
Dinoland will be missed for sure!!! Unfortunate we will now losing another iconic part of the Animal Kingdom logo!
I don’t see how Coco would fit into a South American themed land since Coco is Mexican and is North American and culturally has little in common with South America.
Mexican culture actually is very closely connected to the rest of latin America so it does somewhat work. Still a bad retheme tho.
I think Disney used the term "Tropical Americas" which would be anywhere between Mexico and South America. With that definition, Coco and Encanto do fit.
@@fefolsyt7946😆Because they mostly have the same national language? My Mexican sister-in-law hates that stereotype.
@@devonalomar9012 no, not at all because of the language, I’m talking about the historical and cultural connections between all of Latin America. We all have a lot in common.
I agree and I think its borderline offensive. Mexican and South American cultures are VERY different.
I’m all for dinoland being lost but not losing dinosaur theme. So sick of them wanted to shoe horn these ips, how do they not think a dinosaur area is not exciting for kids
While Europa Park and other theme parks start to weave a cohesive theme through their theme park, Disney is actively destroying their cohesive theme all together. That really sucks.
Europa Park has the Adventure Club of Europe and Phantasialand has at least the 6 Dragons connecting the Themed Areas. Animal Kingdom once had something incredible, but it looks like this is also going out the window.
Naaaaa. Honestly NO one cares about the dragons at Phantasialand… those are hidden ip if you will. Ask locals and they don’t even know that there are dragons 😂
Adding Indiana Jones and Encanto to this setting feels completely misplaced, lacking any connection to the theme of animals or nature preservation. It appears to be Disney's attempt to shoehorn unrelated IP into an environment where it doesn't naturally fit, reflecting a trend of unoriginality and laziness in their creative decisions.
Do you think Encanto will be something like Frozen with the music and all because I see a river like The Caño Cristales River in the concept art? Maybe a slow moving water ride again?
Dinosaur was such a big part of my childhood. I'm sad they never got around to remaking it.
Honestly they would just ruin it now
^ this is why i don’t want them to touch spaceship earth 💀
It needs S American animal encounters as well. A new trail with jaguars as the highlight, I think it fits. S America section can very much be about the cultures and their history tied to the ecosystems.
Going to miss Dinosaur- love that ride! Thanks for the info
The concept art lines up pretty closely to many of the existing buildings, even down the shape of roof lines, dormers, etc. the Coco ride also lines up with Triceratops spin location so that might just be a retheme and not a new ride.
If you ever get a chance to go backstage or underneath the Animal Kingdom Lodge, they have a map of the original walking path plan from the resort to AK park. Really cool! Shame it never happened
Everyone seems to forget that the ride that Dinoland ALREADY WAS centered around an IP based attraction. The ride "Dinosaur" is based on the film "Dinosaur", which has been dated and forgotten by Disney since the year it came out. Nobody cared because the ride was fun, but nobody who is complaining about there being new IP in this land is acknowledging that there already WAS an IP based ride.
I always figured the environment of Casita in Encanto was dreamed up with the intent of turning it into an elaborate trackless dark ride. That seems like the obvious thing to do with it. An Omnimover version could be fine too--either way, it's all about the theming. But it feels like it wants to be big.
And, of course, it also seemed like an obvious fit to turn the Three Caballeros ride in the Epcot Mexico pyramid into a Coco ride. But maybe Animal Kingdom needs it more at this point.
Great reporting as always. Based on these last few years, I really don't trust them to actually do anything, and especially not in any decent amount of time. I'd be shocked if they had this project done by Animal Kingdom's 30th.
On another note, is there a possibility that they add more South American wildlife trails or enclosures in this area, or is the infrastructure not there?
They would have to build some, not sure if people realize how close Dinoland is to the main park entrance, but it’s literally a 5min walk from entry to Restaurantosaurus for cast that can go back stage/cut through.
So by it being right up at the front of the park, there isn’t a _whole_ lot of land to add animal enclosures unless they commandeered some of the Oasis, but if they expanded into the area behind/on the side of Dinosaur they could maybe add a few short trails and a couple enclosures. This assuming they also relocate all of the Dinoland and front entrance infrastructure backstage ie offices, stroller storage areas, waste receptacle, etc
Dinosaur was one the best rides in animal kingdom. Although Dinoland should be rethemed as it does feel out of place
Dinoland USA has a special place in my heart. They demolished a ride years ago because they couldn't get repair parts. They should have had a replacement ASAP. The current Disney CEO does not care about the guests and only about optics. Can you imagine the evil creature that will take a wrecking ball to the Beautiful large dinosaur or the skeletal t-rex or the wonderfully themed restaurantosaurus? They should revamp Dinoland and use the other land to develop so they don't shut down an entire land for 4 years!
My prediction: The Indy storyline will be centered around returning some type of Mayan object (perhaps a "Balam" jaguar, which the Mayans believed symbolized human connection to nature) to its home within the temple. I also think that this will be a more grounded representation of Mayan culture, shying away from any cartoony booby traps or gross-out moments.
That would be the ideal scenario
yeah but it would be cheaper to copy Disney Seas Mayan Indy ride, and with budget Bob, I bet thats what its going to be.
@@brookalvord1605 I’m not sure they’d be allowed to do that. The contract between OLC and Disney has some strict language to restrict Disney from cloning the Tokyo rides.
@@stanfordite1 There’s a mayan inspired temple housing the exact ride system of Disneyland’s Indy ride that was specifically pointed out by the company’s PR team as an Indiana Jones attraction. It’s one thing to say you doubt the project will come to fruition, but claiming that Indy is not part of the mix is simply false.
@@brookalvord1605you totally nailed it. US Disney parks don’t get original attractions.

This comment made me giggle!
Should have used IPs about animals at least like Lion King, Zootopia, etc. also, Encanto should be a walkthrough experience where the house does various magical things based on guest interactions.
Dinoland was my childhood. I will never forgive Disney for destroying it
Me too
What does any of the reimagined Dinoland has anything to do with animals?
Exactly.
The Coco ride could be focused around the "Alebrijes" from the movie, Encanto's ride could possibly revolve around Antonio's ability to talk to animals and I am sure they can find some sort of animal related relic or legend to fit into Indiana Jones so they all tie into the Animal Kingdom.
This. I guess people forget those things are in the movies, it would make the rides so unique! (And still match the theme of the park)
They have to stretch it so far to even do anything that may look like it belongs. Like it was mentioned here, they are muddling this great park.
Oh yeah! When he said "Carousel," I thought of a carousel filled with alebrijes.
That's 100% the only thing they can do that would make sense. When AK opened, they teased dragons and mythical creatures, so this would have to become that area.
You're sure?
I have so many great memories playing with my kids in the boneyard and playground. They loved it. If an Indiana Jones ride should go anywhere it would be next to the stunt show at HS.
Them taking out Dinoland/Dinosaur ride for refurb is going to mess up the capacity at Animal Kingdom. Avoid going when this is going on. And I don't agree with this change, they should add new stuff imo, not replace.
Great job Brayden!
As far as the tease at the end for the rumored E-Ticket, it's either the Lion King dark ride which was once developed for the park years ago, it helps that it could share the R&D with Disneyland Paris, or... its the Avatar E-Ticket planned for Disneyland, which again would share costs. I'd be fine with either option!
IP kingdom?
More like Mid Kingdom
Let's see how they manage to f*ck this up lol..
Its crazy moana water conservation would have been a good fit for animal kingdom, Indiana for Hollywood and Encanto for epcot or MK. Just goes to show these are nice fun attractions but the thought process isn’t up to the old Disney standard.
Thanks for all the updates. Love the show!
Now this is incredible! It's actually happening!
While I love the DINOLAND attraction, this reconstruction of Dinoland is very necessary. I'm happy with IJ, Encanto, and Coco if Disney does it right.
Thanks for the news, Brayden!
So damn disappointing. Dinoland is pretty underbaked but it sucks to see them throw out the entire dinosaur theming. Such wasted potential.
This might be controversial, especially with my bias, but I feel that prehistoric creatures (especially dinosaurs) are way more popular than all three mentioned IPs combined.
They need a PERMIT and Details for a MANAGEMENT OVERHAUL. These people have no idea what they are doing.
Thanks for the video! Love your content as always. Keep up the great work!
I loved Dinosaur so much, it was one of the most underrated rides in the park. Also it’s a bad idea since it’ll take a while to make all they have planned due to how large Dinoland is. This also destroys the whole original point of AK, just in favor for more IP attractions.
As an avid DAK fan Im devastated to see the IP being shoved in it. DAK is the only park (imo) that has stayed true to its original theme and its going to hurt to see that slowly decay away. Change is inevitable and Im all for it, but when it works it works. When it doesnt, it doesnt.
I love the Dinosaur ride and Restaurantosaurus. I'll miss them both very much.
I don’t understand why don’t you just fix the land? Dinosaur is a pretty popular ride and it is not outdated.
Bruh I love dinosaur they should just fix it and expand it like Indian jones has nothing to do with animals
Love your work Brayden great video as always
Love the vids keep up the great work
My son's favorite part of Disney is the Dion playground and the Bone Pit. It's one of the few places that he can let loose and it's a great break for the parents. I'm excited about the new lands but sad that we will be losing a lot.
I understand that's already been torn out.
Can pretty much guess whatever goes there will be underwhelming.
Isn't that sad that this has become the default expectation?
What has happened to your king louie intro song? I am missing it!!! Bring it back!! It’s such a good remix lol
Very much needed and more!
Any idea of the timeline for losing Dinosaur? I love that ride so much and I don’t want to miss the chance to at least take one last farewell ride😢
Anything that doesn’t require a visit to a chiropractor afterwards would be great.
Amen
yup, I feel like I'm 2 inches shorter getting off that ride
Thanks Brayden. Great video. I always look forward to them.
Everytime they do an “overhaul” things get worse.
Love the content and your always well thought out assessments.
Okay, but here’s one thing, Zootopia does not fit inside of the Tree of Life
I’ve been watching you for a while and have to say, for a young guy you seem to really have it together!
It’s really interesting that other people talking about Disney are referencing your videos and insights. (think detheming,)
I agree that Disney seems to be homoginizing all the parks which just dilutes the impact of the individual parks/resorts.
You keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching. Thanks for your efforts, it’s really appreciated!!!
Winnie The Pooh would fit Animal Kingdom far better than Coco or Encanto. When you get down to it, the whole Winnie The Pooh universe is all about how humans relate to animals, all through the realm of childhood imagination.
Absolutely not. Encanto and Coco at least feature literal animals instead of plush dolls. Pooh belongs in fantasyland.
“But animals tho” does not a good Animal Kingdom attraction make
The Pooh characters are stuffed animals, not real ones.
@@writerpatrick All the animals in Beastly Kingdom were from myths, not real animals. As Joe Rhode has repeatedly said, Animal Kingdom is about how humans relate to animals through personal interaction, side effects of human habitation, and the imagination.
Not to mention that Winnie the Pooh was named for a real bear at the London Zoo, therefore tying the stories to two of the three branches.
I personally don’t want Pooh in Animal Kingdom, as British vibes would clash too much with the otherwise jungly environment of the rest of the park. It cannot be denied though that imaginary animals were always intended to be part of Animal Kingdom.
NO PANTS
I wish they’d cut Coca and keep the boneyard (I think that’s the same area based on the rendering?). It could easily be re-themed to Indy to fit. The dig site and play area are a huge benefit to families. Kids get to run around and parents get to relax with a snack or cocktail. We’ll be sad to see it go.
Great scoop Mickey Views.
I’ve always wanted to go to an immersive Indiana Jones land next to a cartoon house
Great video Brayden! Excited about the future of Animal Kingdom!!!!
Both Coco and Encanto’s stories are both very intertwined with their country’s culture so you would think the obvious spot would be Epcot’s World Showcase, but no.
Exactly! I think both are great for attractions. But at AK? Naw.
@@stanfordite1 so you don’t want the pull the lever Kronk coaster?
@@stanfordite1 Firstly, where in that reply did I say it was a coaster park? Secondly, you really think Tarzan was the last good film released by Disney? Because I’m 99% sure they made Lilo and Stitch, Tangled, Frozen, Treasure Planet, Encanto, Princess and the Frog, Wreck it Ralph, and Moana.
@@stanfordite1 I’m pretty sure “what would Walt do” didn’t work for that long. Plus he would probably have an equal spread of attractions based on movies and attractions based on original ideas, and he probably wouldn’t be that picky about it.
@@stanfordite1 I said equal spread not shove everywhere, besides this argument was dead 24 hours ago so go ahead and run Disney like that. Have fun when a “where’s Pirates of the Caribbean?” Situation happens again. Just call me when you build a Lion King “ride” in Animal Kingdom.
Thanks again for another great video.
Put freaking coco in the Mexico ride in Epcot that def needs updating
Thankyou Scoop! Really appreciate this report! And your enthusiasm! RIP Dinoland!
Im with Joe Rhode on this. While i agree that AK needs to update Dinoland.. shoving a bunch of random IP’s into the park is not the way to go. Coco has nothing to do with animals even though its a great movie and if they don’t theme de Encanto area to Antonio’s room its the same thing… its the Epcot situation with Moana all over again.
Omni movers are my favorite style of rides. This is good news if true! That Dinosaur ride is rough on the back.
I love dinosaurs so much that when I saw this I will protest it maybe
Me too
Looking forward to all of this!
Thank you Brayden for the update. I am excited for this upcoming change.
Great sweatshirt Brä! This looks great and thanks for the tip to look around Dinoland as much as we can. I’ll be coming down in April and I love Dinosaur! I miss Countdown, but I also enjoyed Indiana Jones. It looks like the whole area will be an upgrade for sure!
This new plot of land he speaks of at the end…. All I can picture is an Australia section with some roos hopping around. Only IP I can think of is Nemo (already done) and the Rescuers Down Under. Perfect opportunity to continue the original plan for the park.
Such really great news here, thank you for bringing it to us first as usual. The dinosaur area has been very sad for such a long time and finally some change. I’m sure Everybody would want something different in someway, but I’m happy with change in general and new things coming to animal Kingdom.
Indy adventure ride? YES!
What do any of these attractions have to do with Animal Kingdom?!?!
Nothing at all. They're all shoehorned in for the sake of "synergy" and capitalizing on pre-existing brand recognition
The scary answer: not much, yet.
