When I first saw the ad of the New Spacewatch Novonaut
I pulled my Cosmonaut Chronograph out and compared the two watches.
And guess what......?
I like the old design Cosmonaut better (cleaner looking) than the new Novonaut ! The day date font is better readable and it doesn't have the strange looking 1.5 , 2.5, 3.5......
in-between the hour markers !!!
But the best thing is , it was not a watch for millionaires!!
Even though it has a new movement , 5 grand for the basic and 6 grand for the Amadee version is the same as the Speedmaster!!!!
And if I spend 5 to 6 grand on a watch , guess which one I would go for.....

Wunderschöne Uhr, da habt ihr was wahnsinnig tolles rausgehauen. Optisch und auch technisch einfach top. Das einzige was ich bemängeln muss (und das als absoluter Cosmonaut B42 Fan) ist der Name Novonaut, hier ist die Marketingabteilung ein bisschen zu weit gegangen. Omega hat die Modernisierung der Speedmaster (Co Axial und Metas Zertifizierung und einige optische Anpassungen) ja auch nicht Nuovaspeed oder Newspeed gennant. Das war leider kein guter Schachzug. Für mich und für viele B42er Fans da draußen ,heißt sie jetzt halt Cosmonaut N 42 so hättet ihr sie auch nennen sollen. Schade. Aber die Uhr selbst. ist ein Masterpiece, Gratuliere. LG Sascha

I like Fortis and own a Flieger Chronograph, but many great things were born by accident. I wouldn't belittle that component. Who knows, one day a Novonaut could be used for something totally different and become famous for other unexpected reasons 🙂
I wish there was a 3-hander version, like there was in the B-42 lineup. I bought that, would buy this as well. The movement seems to be better, the bezel improved a lot, the crown is screw-down and the small design changes make it an even more desirable watch overall. But I dislike chronos due to their thickness (this is around 15mm), unnecessary complexity and stationary central second hand. Really hope you will expand the Novonaut lineup in the future.

Are Fortis watches available in Hong Kong?
I got one of the "FIRST Edition"s, and guess what, wrong parts have been mounted. It seems, this happened to a few other watches of this series as well. Fortis offers to fix it. This is the minimum one can expect. But the real question is, what about quality management? Fortis talking about space, reliability - but not being able to do a simple assembly correctly?

Das ist aber das größte Kompliment was man einer Uhr machen kann, eine Racing Uhr hat alle NASA Tests bestanden obwohl sie nicht für den Weltraum konzipiert wurde. Das adelt die Speedmaster natürlich noch mehr. 👍👍👍
@@saschar7693 ich besitze eine Uhr aus 1978 mit einem der ersten Quarzwerke der DDR. Auch die war im Weltall und ist heil zurück gekommen. Es gibt diverse weitere Beispiele wo Astronauten und Kosmonauten ihre privaten Uhren mit ins All genommen haben. Schon lange vor der Speedmaster.
Und man sieht es ja auch bei Fortis, dass selbst ein auf Schaltrad umgebautes 7750 keine Probleme mit dem Weltraumflug hat.

Terrible video. Same info over and over, pointless side shots of the marketing guy speaking. The question "Why is it called the Novonaut?" remains unaswered. Also, no info on thicness of the watch anywhere on the website and here it looks like an absolute chonkster, bet they're trying to hide it.
