Once upon a time back in 1998 (or 1999), Billy said he was reading Memoirs of a Geisha to feed his brain for the next Pumpkins album (MACHINA). The only song from this era that reminded me of anyone from that book was Hatsumomo, who was a toxic geisha trying to ruin Chiyo's image. I think that the character Hatsumomo was inspiration for this song

this song is awesome, i was trying to figure out what the opening song to the hipstersunited podcast was, and i was going through the pumpkins songs and I found this in my library, i hadn't given machina II too much thought, till now!
Just realized you use my version from the JC Version that was available for download on the same site where you could get the original. Only my version starts off like that. The original had studio chatter right before. Cool. Glad to know it got around, was the point. I'm in the process of redoing the entire thing with the extras that I took out the first time. This version was way too bass heavy. Check my channel for my remix until the reissue gets released.

Still something I'm interested in doing though as it sounds like Billy wants to go all out redoing everything for the reissue, if we ever see it. I just want a reissue of the original. I still have the original files. I'll get to it one day. With the knowledge I have now from doing these type of projects, I know I could do better now. But thank you for saying so...

@@peterconaty2640 Thank you. No, it's been a long time now, but I simply use Nero for all my audio and video projects. It was largely just some alterations on the equalizer and I added some Stereo Expansion to try and make it sound fuller. Back then I just used my speakers and unfortunately whatever the subwoofer was on could result in more or less bass. I would love to redo this project though with a great set of headphones. I've learned lots since the day I did this. I know I could do better, but thank you for the love.
@@peterconaty2640 Oh, and when I mean version, there was once a website dedicated to all of Smashing Pumpkins odds and ends, I think rough sounding live show bootlegs and things of that nature (everything a huge fan could want) and I uploaded my remaster version there, though I did my Machina II slightly different giving it a clocktime about the same as the first. Starting with the first EP, I used all original tracks and picked the non-spacey version of Glass Theme and the B-Side version of Speed Kills from the Stand Inside Your Love single. The only alternate version I kept was Blue Skies Bring Tears. There seems to be three main versions, perhaps more of the song with mostly all different lyrics. And the full band version of If There is a God for obvious reasons. The ole boy posted it just because it was a cleaner version, at the time, copy of the album and he figured someone may be interested. Most were still like the original. I've heard others attempts too. Probably more accurate to actual procedure than mine, but I didn't upload anything I wouldn't want. I left my email for any downloaders to leave me criticism if they wanted and one guy just simply asked me to do the other alternate tracks I skipped and were all thank you letters, so I also thought that was neat for an amateur. How Machina I could have been 1,000x better: -remove Heavy Metal Machine, Glass & Ghost Children, and Crying Tree of Mercury -get rid of the over-produced synth shit on all the songs -add Dross and Cash Car Star Do these things, and Machina I could have been compared to Siamese Dream in terms of quality
