- I made a huge mistake and managed to get the Black Bear Forge facebook page hacked. Luckily I have some diversified income streams and won't go broke as a result.

John, you were subject to a whaling (phishing) attack. So yes, you fell for it and lessons learned and all. But you can be a little proud when the dust settles, you know you've made it when there are professional hackers that see you as a target. I hope you continue creating your great content. Thank you.

A very similar situation to what happened to "See Jane Drill". Her FB channel fell victim to the same scam. Sorry to hear this, sir. Hope it works out, and you don't lose your channel.

Hey John, that really sucks! But as angry as I’m sure you are, you can hold your head high. It takes guts to go out onto an international audience and admit you were got. Think there are more of us that have been hacked in one form or another (I’ve been hacked before too), but you’re bring light to others to help us avoid the same pitfalls. So thank you.
I did see that the content changed and was just not....well, not you. I presumed you'd been hacked, then that presumption was supported by a post on a different FB group I subscribed to, so I 'un-followed' that page and will wait for your announcement that you're back in control of it, then I'll go re-subscribe to it. Just my small weight added to it, by reducing the number of subscribers shown on their info. Just let us know with a vid like this one, when you get it back. Even if it's just a minute or two long, if it's a standalone one-topic blurb then I'm sure people will see it and your numbers on that channel will go back up noticeably!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation John. If you need to add some ads and sponsorships to increase revenue while you sort this out then you do it. I'm sure most of is will understand and stick with you. If you have to step away from videos for a bit and crank out some customer orders, we will be here waiting for you to come back. That's awful John. I am glad you posted this though as we need to be more open about this kind of thing cause it can happen to anyone in the right circumstances.
I've reported them in several different ways. Really horrible. I hope it is resolved completely for you soon.

Some other CZcamsrs had the same thing happen. Same scenario.

Sorry this happened to you. I was wondering where" blacksmith works" came from. They sent out FB shorts about crap that has nothing to do with blacksmithing. I blocked them for the moment.

That stinks, I hate to hear that happened to you. I've always heard that if it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't.
I really hate to hear what happened. When I saw the name and content suddenly change, I started Googling to see what was up. That lead me here.
For what it's worth, I reported it to FB. Maybe if enough of us do that it will raise some red flags to help your case.

John as of now they habe deleted everything on that page and only have 4 post so I think it's a gonner
I didn't know that was your page and I already blocked them, , trust no one.
Just guessing that your management company will get the account back, but the content may need to be recreated.
Time will tell. Mostly I just want to get the get the current version shut down so people looking for me aren't subject to the junk being posted.

The fact that FB doesn't take care of this problem is scandalous. This happens to lots of people and it shouldn't be too hard to fix. FB obviously has the resources to solve this for you and all the other victims, but they apparently just don't care.

Sorry for that news John, as someone already posted (See Jane Drill) has the same hack issue, maybe if you have time to contact her you both could help each other. Both channels are great information shared.

Sounds exactly like what happened to Leah at SeeJaneDrill.
I saw her video and I’m sure it was the same people.
