    I just made this today sis with Cuban black beans and rice with sweet plantains and fried Yuca. It was DELISH.....& I'm a SOUTHERN BLACK GIRL TO THE BONE and normally cook SOUL FOOD, but THIS meal came out FIYA!!!!!!!!

    I love it with turkey my mom does it for special occasions only she uses orange and lemon juice with her own season mix she makes at home instead of the store bought premixed seasoning but I imagine if she didnt mix it weekly it would be a pain to blend a mix just for this receipe (it is so good, but she doesnt tell me whats in it but it takes her two hours to mix it)

    I watched your video last Friday and made 2 pernils for a cookout on Saturday (it was requested) girlllll they LOVED IT! I couldn’t even get a piece for myself. When I went to make a plate all I see was one bone lol I have no idea where the other bone went 🤣 thank you so much for sharing your recipe.

    Hey babe!! That pernil looks divine!! Mmmmmmm!! I make mine just like you!! I make my own sofrito tho. With extra garlic and a pinch of cumino. I season it up and put it in the fridge for an day or two before roasting if I have the time. Orange slices in the juice are nice sometimes too. You are doing it right!! I have 2 pernil slow roasting overnight right now!... About 12 lbs each for a pot luck at work. The whole building is scented with all the garlic and sofrito... Lol.

    Omg! I have one in my oven rn, same way same seasoning!! I love stuffing mine with garlic, crushing it a bit and mixing it with a seasoning mix ❤️ crazy, I didn't think anyone did stuff the same way, lol.

    Doing this right now. What a good thing I had bought that mojo marinade when I saw it at the dollar store.. I added some jerk marinade to mine and blended some rose mary, onions, thyme and scotch bonnet pepper. My knife full asf took me mad long to get the skin off

    My friend from St. Thomas just gave me his recipe and it was almost identical to yours! My pork shoulder is in the refrigerator marinating and goes in the oven at 9am! Thanks for this video it really helped me loose my anxiety about it all because you made it so easy!

    I've been making pork shoulder for years and it always smelled good so yesterday I decided to try your recipe and I like to have it in the fridge over night to marinate over night and now I got it in the over and 630 in the am and omg I want to jump in the oven it smells so amazing mine never smelled this amazing I can wait to eat it tonight ty so much I will put a comment later to tell you what my family and I think of it I can't wait

      I USUALLY START IT ON 250 COVERED WITH FOIL FOR ONE HOUR THEN DO 350 BASTE A FEW TIMES AND LET IT BROWN IT DEPENDS ON HOW DARK YOU LIKE IT THAT'S Y I SAY 350 AND JUST CHECK IT UNTIL YOUR LIKING THE LONGER THE CRISPIER

    At what temp and how long do you put it back in the oven for the crispy skin?

      Uncovered at 375 for at least an hour. Check it every 30 mins and tap a fork on it to sop how crispy it is.

    So question when you take the cover off how much longer do you cook it for and do you cook it at the same temperature I have made pork shoulder before but I'm having a family get together tomorrow and I'm trying your recipe instead because my pork shoulder comes out good but this looks amazing so thank you for the recipe but I just need to know that thank you so much love

    That looks delicious, but I don’t like it when people shred the pork, I like my in slices better because with the leftovers you can do Cuban sandwiches the next day
