Hello and welcome to Kazakhstan for the first time, where we'll be checking out one of their famous sleeper trains!
This journey will see us travel from Aralsk, at the famous Aral Sea, up to Aktobe on the border with Russia. We'll be in a Second Class Kupe compartment for this overnight trip, so let's go and check it out together!

The demise of the Aral sea is one of the worst man made environmental disasters the world has ever seen. The Soviets diverted the two rivers feeding it to irrigate cotton fields and it slowly dried up. However I think plans are in place to revive it. It has been dammed on the northern Kaszakh side and consequently that part is refilling with wildlife slowly returning. There's hope. Good video. 😊
The Aral Sea disaster may very well be overshadowed by the developing "Net Zero" disaster. Both cases remind me of the story about pulling a cowboy out of the cactus and when asked why did you do it? his reply was: "it seemed a good idea at the time".

is not the only sea (or large lake) that dried up due to human interference...
not even the worst in terms of ecological damage... there was a huge lake known as The Blake-sea in California which effectively had a very similar story, only I believe in that case in a century or so, it dried up all but totally, leaving under 80 hectares of it's once over 2000 square Kilometer size... Salton sea was the last attempt to deepen and restore a part of it, but, that resulting in it's final demise to the current state of non-existence.
@@stanislavkostarnov2157 Don't quite understand how you can equate a 2,888 sqkm lake to a 68,000 sqkm lake as to equal or even worse ecological damage. I read that thre Blake lake area was changed to agricultural use while it seems to me that the Aral Sea area is more like a desert.
Any video immediately improves when there's a cat in it.

Great trip. It sad to see Aral Sea in current time, and I don't know can this water body recovered again like normally? Overall great room for overnight trip.

I haven’t traveled by train in Kazakhstan but flew into Atyrau once. This involved flying to Almaty, then getting a flight of three and a quarter hours back along the route I had just covered (with a Mr Bean movie being shown all the way) to Atyrau. It is a very big country.
Absolutely massive. Indidna 63 hour train trip too lol

I've watched many videos of Kazakhstan last year & earlier this year on CZcams. I've met a beautiful mid age couple from Kazakhstan in L.A.several years ago ! And the husband was very friendly & handsome & his wife was unbelievably beautiful 😍. He showed a map of the location of Kazakhstan on his phone & explained to me !! My mom was there & she told him she knew of Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, I didn't !! Lol. I almost flaunted on my geography class anyway at jr.high & high school !! Lollol 😅👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇰🇿💕💞

Access ramp to enter the station from the street, but then two steps to access the platform, and a low platform with steps to climb aboard. I'll take it as a sign that they are trying to make things better? I know it is a slow and costly process, but they'll get there! :)

I'd like to visit Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 someday ! There are many beautiful places & unbelievable sceneries ,picturesque spots !! I'd love to.But,some say it's dangerous for female travelers .But ,there are some solo female travelers videos in Kazakhstan on CZcams.

especially with the entry into the station, it was a beautiful window-views section that could well be covered by conversation... I mean, as the end of the journey, it is a perfect time to ask people to like & subscribe...
I can barely see why you would do it on the trains entry... and maybe that even would have not annoyed me that much... but the station entry is a preciouses feeling of entering the new city, why would you want to smudge that?!!!

I have to agree with you that it wasn't clean by my standard ,either ,but I won't call it disgusting. I've seen lots of worse ones overseas in my life & here in the U.S.,but many in Wales sadly ,I mean real old beaten dirty toilets ,smelly ones !! Lol.

Traveling as a visitor you either sleep while it is dark or during the daytime stare at a small smart phone screen. Why do you travel? You see damn little of the world. Make these "Net Zero" blokes happy and stay home.
