    I weighed 215lbs a few years ago. There wasn't much work for me that winter so I mostly sat home and watched Netflix. I changed my eating habits and I lost over 30lbs in 4 months. I still ate the food I liked I just ate smaller portions and I stopped eating late at night. I still ate some junk food like a chocolate bar or cookies but not every day like I used to. The point I'm trying to make is that just changing your eating habits can surprisingly do a lot.

      That's how I lost almost 40 Lbs. since January this year. I have stopped eating junkfood and candy, soda, ice cream, pizza, pasta, processed foods and red meat for the most part. But of course I have been going to the gym religiously just to shed all the weight that I had gained over the last ten years. I was almost 290 Lbs. and and now I weigh 252 and just lost another 5 Lbs. since last week. I've been strict about what I eat for the most part and watch my sugar intake. Weight loss is possible and manageable so that you don't think so much about it and don't really miss those things when you don't have them all the time. It's more psychological than physical if you can get your mind off unhealthy eating habits you can do it.

    Back in the early 1980s I tried the Cambridge Diet. You mixed their powder with water and that was all you ate. It was less than 900 calories a day. After only a week I was hallucinating about eating actual food. I finally begged my husband to let me eat some Campbell's soup. Never have I felt as wonderful as after I finished that bowl of soup. I quit the diet immediately and I think it was lawsuited out of business. I found a much better system: Ex-ing the husband, eating lots of fruit and vegetables, strength training at the gym and walking the 5 miles home from work. 30 pounds gone over a few months. Heaven!

I should have did more research but it probably wouldn’t have helped me because I was actually obsessed with losing weight. Eventually I started having somewhat of a breakdown. I began to experience reality distortion and audible hallucinations. I ended up believing I was the second coming of Christ. It’s literally embarrassing but this is what a history of abuse from family and so called friends along with being drugged and raped multiple times can do to people. I too was bulima-rexic growing up. It started for me at age 11 or 12 as well. I wasn’t fat, just pudgy or borderline overweight but was made fun of because I was a cheerleader in middle school. By the time 8th grade hit I had starved myself down to 106 lbs. Even going back to my pre-birth weight after having each of my children within a mere week. Even after having twins. Now I have that (past) middle-age bulge that I just can’t seem to get rid of. I am 180(ish) lbs at only 5’4” if I were a man this would almost be acceptable. Within the last decade I learned to love myself despite the weight and realize that no matter what I do, my metabolism has changed and it isn’t worth it to kill myself slowly. I hope that you have found comfort and confidence within yourself to not torture your poor body like we have in the past. My prayers go out to you if you haven’t quite gotten past it and/or my kudos for getting past it if you have. It sucks that society puts such standards on the way we each look as individuals. Although now it seems men like their women a little thick these days, back then that wasn’t the case at all. People need to stop body shaming and look at the inside rather than the outer shell.

      I also had disordered eating in high school as well as obsession with exercise. Looking back, it was never about my body image. It was more like little “challenges” I gave myself that provided some sense of control in my life. I see now that the rituals and compulsion to push myself as far as I could were really just ways of coping with the emotional turmoil I was experiencing. It was something to focus on that was only mine. I never cared about weight or how I looked. It was all about the control and sense of satisfaction I got from pushing just a little more all the time. Calorie restriction and exercise became addictions that were hard to quit. I’ve left the food problem in my past but always seem to cling to one addiction or another. It’s been cleaning, alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes….never about body image and all about the ritual

I did that for nearly 4 months before I got to cold and tired that I couldn’t carry on anymore. I had lost 60lbs. I’m so surprised I didn’t die, I was only 14 and unaware of how dangerous it really was. I definitely do not recommend any crazy diets to anyone, but do eat a balanced diet and the minimum calories you should consume is 1200 a day. And please stay hydrated people. • @Fluffy-Fluffy
      @Fluffy-Fluffy Před 2 lety

      What were the four? Because now we talk about 5 food groups?
      Also I think that startung from that moment processen foods became more and more popular, adding additives that would make you crave more food whole not satiating you so you take larger portions. If we would at least do as much unprocessed foods as we can, things could change. But that also would mean the crazy foodprices have to go do because food becomes unavailable to people, especially whole foods, and so they go for the cheaper processed options. It's almost as if the government promotes the bad foods, keep them overweight, have a deal with pharmaceutical companies to keep getting profits in exchange for political funding but one can't say that because conspiracy and it is just inflation since gas has gone up a lot too. Yeah and surely the government doesn't profit from that at all.

She'd been doing a fine job of it prior to the stupid advice that came out at the time, and when Dad and I finally convinced her to just go back to how she used to prepare meals, everyone's health immediately began to perk up. The keto diet is also very very dangerous if done for longer than a few weeks at a time. It’s a fad diet, the new atkins. Be careful, it’s asking for kidney disease or failure, digestive issues and chronic constipation, heart disease, bone density problems, poly cystic ovary syndrome, vitamin deficiency, increased risk of chronic diseases, high cholesterol which could lead to diabetes etc. it also has a very good chance of causing weight rebounding. Meaning you’ll gain it back causing a yo-yo effect which will cause permanent change to your body, fat settling in different areas, loose skin, lose of muscle tone (which is another symptom of keto).

    In the 70s when lots of people were dieting and jogging and all the rest of it, I visited the Louvre in Paris. There was a large room with Rubens paintings showing voluptuous women showing lots of flesh. When those paintings were made, ‘overweight’ women were the ‘it’ girls of that time. I suppose it would show status and wealth. Super skinny women probably would be accused of being witches: light enough to fly on a broomstick. It just shows that views change all the time. No one should have to obey any of these fashions. Being very overweight and being underweight are causes for concern but anything in between is fine.

But her method was extreme off the cuff. She wanted me to get her some METH so she would have more energy to exercise and less appetite. Some people let tv and movies make them feel so inadequate that they'll go to great lengths to look and feel the way they're "supposed" to. Of course I didn't get it for her and gave her a lecture over it. I was addicted for 25 years on meth and opiates (clean 3 years) so I know you don't just quit and walk away from that mess. By no means am I claiming to be a perfect parent, but some people really should NOT be allowed to have children! That includes people who, instead of treating their child's serious, but manageable illness appropriately, allow some asshole to feed him nothing but ginger and water and not insist on _actual medical intervention_ when the kid is obviously in a bad way.
    It also includes people like the ones who know they have a toddler, which is the definition of "quick, slick, and unpredictable" and, because of inadequate supervision, ended up in a gorilla pit. I know this video had nothing to do with that but my mind automatically went to that when thinking of people making stupid decisions about their children which can, does, and did put them in mortal danger- from which one example I mentioned here survived and the other didn't.
    My kid isn't even 2 yet, but I can damn well tell you that it's gonna be many, MANY years before he'll be trusted in a place like a zoo, or elsewhere where danger lurks, without being in a stroller or attached to me via some kind of kid leash or something similar.
    Laugh all you want, but I guarantee my kid won't be eaten by the polar bears or trampled by the zebras! And he damn sure won't be dragged through a moat in a primate enclosure! I said what I said! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

      I did the raw diet but still had to eat salmon I broiled cause I could not fully commit. Honestly it was incredibly difficult, expensive and you have to obsess over food to a very unhealthy level to make sure you don't get I'll. It's same reason a lot of vegans have to stop after 6 to 10 years. But...I looked fantastic, skin looked like porcelain and was pretty happy but feeling icky after eating a rogue bagel and you just miss hot food. And the whole thing revolves around either avocados or Thai baby coconuts, which are are bitch to deal with.

    in my opinion, if you tryna lose weight, don't starve yourself. just do portion control and watch out your food choices. if it is healthy and balanced, do it regularly. but if it's not, try not to consume it every single day.
    will try to do this and I'll see how it goes

      Hello! It’s a late reply, but the Nutritarian diet as proposed by Dr. Furhman is very effective. It’s actually not a diet, but a lifestyle. It helps fight cancer and diseases, and gives you maximum energy while shedding pounds. Here’s more on it: www.drfuhrman.com/blog/210/beginners-guide
      Good luck and hope your doing well!

    I can't remember exactly what it was they jmused but on a case of the medical reenactment show ,untold stories of the ER.. ( think that's the title)
    There had been 3 recorded cases including theirs. One fatality, one treated using an experimental drug as a hail Mary and and another repeating that experimental drug because they were at the end of the options they tried.
    Good to know now they have a treatment for a fatal od on it.
    Don't know if it would work everytime but it seems to work. Definitely need more research into it.

    • @jb6712
      @jb6712 Před 2 lety

      Many vegetables need to be cooked or steamed in order for their nutrients to be released. Spinach is one of those, plus cooking it, or at least wilting it, reduces the dangerous oxalates in it. That's just one vegetable of many that need to be cooked/steamed to release their nutrients, but those on a "raw" diet often just eat the food without any cooking at all, grossly misunderstanding the right process for the diet.

Crying out loud, what you're doing is killing yourself very slowly, very painfully, and your poor body has no defenses against your ignorance! And "Slimfast" is nothing but a poopload of chemicals that should NEVER enter the body, under any circumstances whatsoever!
      Please do yourself a favor and at least follow the Standard American Diet! It's stupid, but it's a lot smarter way to eat than what you're doing!

Something doesn’t add up there at all plus DKA is terrible your child loses weight body starts to shut down and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but if they knew he was sick they would know the signs to watch for and the child would be in so much discomfort no parents would ignore it. 😔
