0:54-6:28 day 1 cork to the ring of kerry & glenbeigh
6:29-10:13 day 2 valentia islands & ring of kerry cont.
    10:14-12:56 day 3 limerick & galway
    12:57-15:48 day 4 dublin!
    The route we did:
DAY 1 Drive from Dublin straight to Cork (we'll come back at the end!)
DAY 2 Drive from Cork to see the Blarney Castle, the Torq Waterfall, and enjoy part of the Ring of Kerry and Killarney National Park. Stay in Glenbeigh...I'm glad we stayed here instead of Dingle so we could do more exploring in this particular area.
DAY 3 Explore Valentia Islands, Cliffs of Kerry, and the rest of the Ring of Kerry. We stayed in Glenbeigh for a second night but you could also move to Dingle.
DAY 4 Drive to Limmerick, Cliffs of Moher, and finally Galway.
DAY 5 Drive from Galway back to Dublin and enjoy!

It took me 5 years living out of Ireland to realise how beautiful our little island is, so much on our doorstep and yet we don’t realise. I moved home just before covid, the travel bans made me rediscover the west coast. It’s incredible ☘️

I had a similar experience discovering one of my home states, Maine, here in the US. It’s incredible to see just how much there is at home.

From a Cork person, you missed out hugely by not giving Cork a decent chance. There’s so much to see and do here - fantastic food scene, gorgeous coastal villages, amazing live music - you should come back and explore more!

It's actually wild how much tourists fit in to a 5 day trip to Ireland . If you suggested this to an Irish person they would laugh in your face and be like "nah... thanks I'm going to Spain"- Fair play to you guys ! PS Galway is definitely the best city, not biased at all as a Galway girl ;)

True! I think this works for almost every country in Europe. I’ve met people who told me they’ve done a 6/7 day trip in Italy from North to South. But it’s impossible to see everything of course. Us Italians would never do that 😅

If ye are coming over to Ireland again & if ye come to visit sligo I'll show ye around. Loads of beach's, mountains, trails, waterfalls, live music. All around the coast of Ireland the scenery everywhere is amazing & peaceful. Nothing like getting away from the hectic city life. Gives us much greater perspective on life & what's truly important. Plus the blast of fresh air near the ocean is something else.
Your only getting a wee taste of the County's over 5 days. You could of easily of seen more in Cork, kerry & Dublin by doing 5 days in one place. But as a first time here glad ya enjoyed your visit.

Hi There, Irish viewer here. I see from the footage that you did go through Dingle. For any visitors with a short visiting time, I'd recommend you drive the Dingle Penninsula rather than the Ring of Kerry. The Ring of Kerry is looooong, too much time in the car. Dingle Penninsula shorter so you can spend more time exploring. Sorry about the weather. We have had the Wettest Summer ever. Climate change bringing us more rain, like we needed it!!!

That's a shame...only 5 days in Ireland. My wife and I just got back from 2 weeks in Ireland and 3 days in Wales and that was way too short of time to really explore the beauty of this land. We have many friends there and spent a good portion of our trip visiting them. Our stay overs were Dublin, Aherlow, Dingle, Doolin, Galway, Clifden, Cong, Maynooth then off to Wales for 3 days with another good friend. We had a blast and will be returning for a longer stay as we have an open invitation to use our friends house in Abbeyfeale as a home base.

As a Cork person, Cork city probably isn't the best part of Cork especially depending where you are staying!! I'm from Kinsale and its so lovely, as is West Cork (though locals will tell you that west cork only begins at Clonakilty / Rosscarbery) - in my opinion some of the most beautiful spots in the country!! Cork city has its charms and its spots but you need to know them - the Marina Market is an amazing indoor food market with such good spots you should definitely go to if you ever come back! UCC the university has some gorgeous buildings and greenery on its campus too. I know you were trying to fit as much in as possible in 5 days but I think the main thing that's nice about Ireland is the scenery and finding the secret spots which you need more time in a place!!
Glad you enjoyed it in general though and Galway is honestly an amazing city, one of my favourite places as a Cork gal!!

Lovely whirlwind visit to some of Irelands beautiful scenery, really sad you did not see the cliffs of Moher, they are epic and dwarf anything you saw in Kerry, l live 40 minutes from the cliffs so I may be somewhat biased. Also the Burren national park, and Connemara national park are beautiful places. There is so much to do, you really need more that 5 days next time! FYI the voice over audio as you’re explaining the ring of Kerry was drowned out by the music and we can’t hear what you say haha

The gift of the gab isnt about how much you talk but more about what you say it or how you say it. The type of person who can talk themselves out of trouble be it through charm, humour or sincerity has the gift of the gab.
For an easy day trip out of Dublin that doesnt involve lots of driving I would suggest the Powerscourt Estate at the foot of the Wicklow mountains. It is home to the No.3 top garden in the world. Beside it is the Powerscourt waterfall which at 400ft is the highest in Ireland. Further on is Glendalough with its famous 6th century church and round tower which was a refuge from viking attacks. Then the road out of Glendalough leads to Sallys Gap which overlooks the Guinness lake. This lake and the land was owned by the Guinness family and the lake looks like a pint of Guinness. The Sally gap is so rustic and barren at the top of the Wicklow mountains its hard to believe your only an hour from Dublin city centre. Co. Wicklow is also known as the garden of Ireland.

As an Irish person, top tips for visiting are: get drunk in Dublin and Galway city for 2 nights (do not go to Cork city). Do the Cliffs of Moher, they really are stunning. Then fly out of here.

I enjoyed your video, thanks for it. Just a couple of points to add - politically most Irish people consider the whole island as one country - ie there is no 'Republic' and 'Northern' - it's just Ireland. You completed a loop of the Southern half of the country - a similar loop for the Northern half would be roughly Dublin - Belfast - Antrim coast- Derry - Donegal - Sligo- Galway - Dublin

Well I am from Dublin, Ireland and everybody here says the "the North" or the "Republic". Unless of course you are shinner.

Love Ireland. I’m a beach girl and have loved my South Pacific vacations, but I think Ireland has still been my favorite. The central coast of California kinda reminds me of Ireland,

I really enjoyed this, and the aspects that caught your attention that don't seem 'that' special to a Brit but, you know, really are lovely.
I did shout 'blackberries!' At one point but that's part of the fun.
I'm going to watch a few more now.

Beara is so often overlooked its baffling... there's nowhere else quite like it. People doing west Cork normally just go from Kinsale to Mizen head or the sheeps head but IMO from a road trip perspective Beara is the best in the country.
Also Comparing Cork to Killarney is chalk and cheese, one is an industrial port city, the other is a town whose industry is tourism, lol. Clonakilty or Kinsale would be a fairer comparison.

Thank you so much for loving Ireland. It's a fantastic country. Cork is great - not like Kerry - but they have Dursey Island, most of the unspoilt Beara Peninsula and Mizen Head - not to mention the place where we all cry: Beal na Blath. @9:00 : It's not actually blueberries - it's blackberries... sorry to correct you. Dingle is awesome. Did you go to the South Pole Inn in Annascaul to learn about Tom Crean, the Antartic explorer?

Here's a thought, we chose a small village between Cork and Limerick as a base for a week. The village was Bruff . We came as strangers , whilst there we were treated like long lost family. Everything is close in South African terms. I use to be a tour guide before i retired. Every Irish tourist told me you must see Ireland before you die. In 2017 i was in ICU with a massive pulmonary embolism. The doctor told me i kept telling himni can't die, i haven't been to Ireland yet.
6 months later a week in self catering in Dublin, a week in Bruff and a week in Lusk.
