When talented woodworker Eric Cournoyer isn't immersed in sawdust, you'd likely find him amongst the trees in their more natural state. An avid outdoorsman, Eric frequently mountain bikes the back trails around his home of Worcester, MA.. After seeing a friend's traditional camper van, Eric was inspired to create his own handcrafted custom camper that would double as his daily driver. The Ford Transit Connect proved to be the perfect platform for Eric to remake into a mobile base camp. His approach? Fine carpentry expressed through a modular box system that's easily reconfigurable for quick trips from his city's streets into the surrounding wilderness.

Man, that is just excellent!
These small vans are exceptionally versatile, and with creativity and ingenuity like that, the possibilities are endless!
That is awesome - to see someone enjoying life so much. That is the key to happiness , find ways to make things more enjoyable.
Good job! I like the way you utilized all the space. I plan on getting a Transit Connect myself.
As a keen cyclist, the camper van has really broadened my horizons as I don't have to worry about having a bus or train to get me back home - or worse limit my range by having to cycle home!
I love the design, I too like designs that are not built in or fixed but can be taken out easily when needed, and designs that are modular meaning not all the pieces need to be used or installed. But if a friend of mine just spent thousands of dollars I would just give him simple compliments on what a great item he bought and point out all the positives. Everyone has different needs and requirements and what he bought fulfills his needs and requirements. Also everyone has different skills and temperament he might not be able to do woodworking and does not get any enjoyment out of building stuff.
This is awesome! I have been dreaming of something like this for quite some time now. I want one!
Me too ever since i realised how special my camping trips with my dead dad were i yave been drawing designs for half a decade
Sounds like Weekend at Bernie's. 'Camping with my dead dad'. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Great conversion ... Simple and I'm going to try and copy it ...thanks
Wow! love the simplicity. I would appreciate buying the box system. Wondering the cost and where yo buy? I am in canada
love these !! Great size drive Great.... great job done here
I would have loved a proper tour of this, seems excellent. As many ask, are there plans available?
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Where can I purchase your interior setup? Great video! ~Mikio 😊
Great vid, really liked it!
nice and simple. in your video, it sounds like you are planning to make the boxes,...or plans to build them available. could we get some details please.
wau u really nailed it! that's all the inspiration i need! thanks!
Awesome, but I'm on the road alone. I want to pull the passenger seat and totally design that area for a kitchen that works on both sides. Open door in the summer. I want a swivel drivers seat and you can prepare full meal from the seat.
Awesome van setup wish I had one but my handicap disability hinders my ability with tols
@1:45 Nice work!
How often you walk from the front to the back of the van? Any reason it would not be more practical to eat, wash and cook while standing outside at the back of the van? Other than weather... I figure backing the van into a private space and swinging the doors open would be private enough.. I am considering getting a cargo van with a liftgate but debating weather protection vs privacy.
This is great! I'll tale one!
Great share!
(O2:OO): It SOUNDS like you designed this for consumers. True? Where can I get it?
y'all this isnt hard to build just watch the video really slowly and you can see what he is doing it he said it is a three box modular build that is all it is. all you really have to do is decide how you want to attach them so you can take them out as you please and just have a van again. it would be nice though to know which model has is it the longer model and the taller one?
i'm also sure you can find somebody locally to make the cushions to your desired color and thickness
I love it! Plans please.
PLEASE! Can you make the wood work plans available for purchase? This is a lovely teaser but it's frustrating that I cannot do this conversion without plans. Please, Eric, won't you make plans available?
What manufacturer produced the manual water pump for the sink?
+Patrick Perry It's called a Whale V Fresh Water hand pump Mk 6 and they can still be found in some caravan shops in the UK. They're suitable for fresh water and saltwater use and 1/2" (13mm) hose, they retail at £30-£40 here and the best part about them they are NOT a throw away item. You can buy a service kit for £9.
Thank you!
I'd like to buy one of this set. would you sell it to me?
*bump* Were the plans ever available for purchase, or were the modular boxes ever for sale? Looking at Transits now (since the selling my Honda Element) and this modular setup would be ideal. Has anyone ever located plans or modules similar to this setup?
Plans??
Do you have the plans for this build
amazing
Sounds like a New Englander to me!
Have you shared the plans for this conversion? Would you?
Yeah pretty cool and all, but, like Mike Hamilton said; plans?
Any possibility of purchasing a set of plans?
do you sell these kits??? if so where can i buy and how much are they ??? very interested
thanks
Where do you carry the bike? Front tire off?
is this the LWB high roof model????
I would like to Buy plans please.
I also want to purchase these boxes. Has anyone found a way?
I like some others were interested in your plans. I just want to do something
simple but it would be nice to have someone's else rendition of what they think "simple" is. I cannot tell from the comments below whether anyone got any plans?
I live in Kansas City, MO.
On my website I have more than 200 camper van designs, although they are all from mass produced vehicles. You can see it here : www.motorhomefulltime.com/vehicles
***** Hi, I can't find your plans on the site you listed above...can you help direct me to them?
On the vehicles section, some vehicles have their layouts shown eg. : www.motorhomefulltime.com/vehicle/hobby-siesta-over-cab
or selections of photographs or renderings but no plan : www.motorhomefulltime.com/news/pilote-g700gj-beds-tall-people
I usually upload the layouts when I have them.
There is also a weekly newsletter you can register for.
Yes I see that thanks...but the question is are you able to give out YOUR measurements for the Ford Transit? You know, for the bench seats and stepped sink platform that you designed and built.
where can i find these plans????
thats cool
Lag because I'm watching it but it shows a different video i was watching earlier
what are the dimensions of the sleeping area and wich type of Transit is it (long version/ high top)
+phalanxtrader it's the transit connect 230L, long version with high top
woooow!!
Ask him where the uncle wiggly board goes...
Good design, removing the seat belts for passengers.
Ok, but what everyone wants to know is-how many chicks can you put in there!?
Punk Rock Pete 3

I am sure it could be improved. Check out the plans on the Stodoys website.
