Love you guys. Definitely understand what y’all are saying. Especially the girl in the back. I’d like to add though that sometimes depression isn’t momentarily but some people carry the burdens of loneliness and all those dark emotions for a long time. With NF, I can say that’s the case for a majority of his life. Suicide of his mom, failed relationships, getting badgered in the music industry, people doubting him, talking about him and issues with his self and esteem also I believe he’s really empathetic and takes on the burden of people he really cares about and all of that. I do believe that’s the reason why his music gives off such a dark emotion most times. Brethren goes through a lot and it’s his outlet and therapy so that’s what you’re gonna get. You guys will experience more of NF if you continue on this journey with him and his emotional ride. It’ll make you intimate, feel sympathy and rock with him more. Not all his songs are this depressing lol. If you want to go for more lighter, pump up songs then go for

You definitely have gone deep with the talking and I really love this! Okay, so...the way I think is that...well, he has a few songs that show a much lighter and positive side to him. I think his songs - even if dark - they inspire people. But then again, NF has been going through depression (which is something he mentioned on Therapy Session). In the song 'Why' he says how he can be happy and in a minute, that can all disappear and turn into sadness. When he's usually happy, he doesn't write songs because he knows that it's not going to last and so he tries to live his happiness instead of spending time writing it down, because that would mean letting it pass by him. His songs are usually his therapy and in a therapy session, you definitely won't hear about happiness but rather the dark, depressing and even suicidal thoughts in someone's head. He definitely has a trigger warning in cases of the faint of heart exactly because he touches on subjects that trouble a large portion of the world. Now, when it comes to him being a Christian, he said multiple times how he was always misunderstood as a Christian rapper but he had always corrected that he was simply an artist who was Christian. He also mentioned on a few songs how 'Christian is not the definition of a perfect me' or how 'these songs are not for people who just sit on the pews and pray at the churches. On another song, he said 'church is where I found God, but it's also where I've learned to judge'. His song 'Oh Lord' is a whole song talking about God, which is a big part of him.
Sadly, NF never had support in his life to be this kind of light and it needs to be taken into account that not anyone is strong enough to be that kind of light for someone else, even though the fact that NF is able to touch so many people's hearts is making him a light on his own. But as for what he feels, that is a very subjective matter that not everyone can surpass, also taking into account that NF is 26 years old and still very young, though his soul may be too old for his own sake. What makes him so loved to people is the fact that he's relatable. By putting out music (using it as a therapy session), he shows people that they're not alone feeling like this. He shows that artists are /not/ indestructible. Another smart idea is that he introduces concepts like happiness, joy, anger, sadness as human beings. It's his own way to deal with them and he has songs where he tells people to not let their fear overcome them like the song 'Remember This'.
I would suggest songs as 'Remember This', 'My Life', 'You're Special' or 'Got You on my Mind' to see a lighter side of him and the songs 'Paralyzed', 'Breathe' to try and maybe understand why he feels the way he does.

I think NF's music is story based most of his singles have this kind of joy, but not as of late.
If you telling a story of a dark past with no light, you don't pop in a happy moment that never happened.
He is a light for all those going through the same things and realizing they arent alone. Thats is a light for someone who feels completely alone
NF IS A good single and when I listen to him I think of stuff that I have done that is really depressing and it kinda helps me get through it
If you're going thru or have went thru this stuff it IS uplifting.... Hard to explain but I'm it's fact as someone that's been there and done that....I AM STILL ALIVE because of NFs music.... Without it I'd been gone a while ago. I'm a single mother of two... BUT have been abused my entire life with very bad health issues just suffered 3rd stroke and I'm 44. But because of HIS music I'm still here and haven't thought about suicide in a long time....

I feel hyped
Looking back on this song is crazy because he's kind of saying how he doesn't want to fit in with anybody and he kind of just wants to be by himself but he just got married yesterday so I think overtime he's developed as a person which I think is pretty cool
I don't think so.. I think there's a lot of bad in ppl who talk like they're uplifting. I think it's ok to talk about your differences and staying strong as a decent and honest person. Which is what he's saying. I will say, this makes more sense for ppl in their thirties and up who were pulled more by "trying to make millions" and not taking on honorable jobs and working for the betterment of the planet and communities.
Real music is not sunshine and rainbows! I went through child abuse, and loss! So I think we as Christians need to be real!
Love the vid! but just because the video and the theme seems dark, I think he's still inspiring people in a positive light by relating to so many people and being real with everyone and every song has a message that inspires a lot of people even if it's not all "happy rhymes"
He’s a believer, at least he says so. I don’t have a reason to doubt that at all, but I think it’s good that there’s someone out there portraying the darker side of life. He hasn’t quit, or given up on God obviously but sometimes life can get hard. I’m sure he has plenty of good thoughts, and happy moments but if you listen to Therapy Session you see what he takes on himself from his fans. That really has to hurt him, especially as a believer. I mean, there’s nothing plenty of rappers out there in the CHH community, but he’s doing something else. He’s telling the hard truth. Grace, and peace to you sisters in Christ.

I'm a Christian, and NFs music has been positive for many people, whether Christian or non-Christian. I don't think Christians always have to pretend like they're happy. People get sad, and NFs sad music has been so relatable for so many people. Sorry getting deep 😂😂😂 but talking about sad stuff and being Christian at the same time is okay

A lie. the enemy loves it when he can veer/steer people away from turning to CHRIST simply by putting this idea out that Christians think they are perfect. The misconstrued conception is that Christians are Holy Holy this Holy Holy that, but the Truth is We are no better than the next. Than the rest.
