      @@biancacastafiore8760 Yes, just as absurd. The manhunt opening, Kuno the business tycoon, Ännchen the emancipated dyke, Kaspar the Afghanistan Veteran with a psycho trauma, and Max wrapped in cling film in the wolfs glen. Utter nonsense not justifiable by "poetic license'.

    perhaps singers, as opposed to directors, run the risk of being stigmatised as „difficult“ which may affect their careers ?

    I am allways intrigued how good and intelligent musicians can be persuaded to make fools of themselves. That the art director wants to show off his postmodernistic obsessions at the expense of the opera I maybe can understand, but why participate the performers in this silly masquerade?

      They're actors - this is what good actors do, they take chances. If it's a little more lighthearted than most productions..who cares? The performances are solid, and that's what matters most.
