I tried! | I wrote a novel in 1 month!

- I tried doing something I had wanted to do since I was a kid... I wrote a story. A novel really!
(Well... sort of... let me explain...)
I am no where near ready to show it to the world yet, but follow me on my journey as I tick off a bucket list item. Learn about the story I wrote, where the inspiration came from, the planning (I'm not a pantser in the slightest!), the first draft, the editing and then completeing the second draft!
No word of a lie, this book has been consuming a lot of my waking thoughts over the last month (especially)... and it has been 4 years to get here.
We are not yet finished with this project, so stay tuned for in the future for a potential part 2... just give me a couple of months to recover.
And if you need a sign to start writing a story that has been filling up your brain, may this be your sign to write the damn thing! Get it out of your head.
Please enjoy - and feel free to skip ahead if you don't want to know the backstory ;)

I like doing different crafts and Im glad to see a CZcamsr make content "outside their niche" bc we cant all be limited to one craft ☺️❤
Thank you! It is a fun experience
I'm a little late to the party watching this one, but that book sounds so intriguing! I love the name honestly. I love reading, don't love writing much though. I hope it goes well if you eventually pick up and decide to do more with it but for now, huge congrats on writing that book!
Thank you so much hun for your support!
Congratulations! As someone who's also dreamed about being an author as a kid I felt your joy at hitting all those writing milestones. Hope your novel continues its journey!
Thank you- I hope so too
Congratulations 🎉 on writing your novel. Just seeing your enthusiasm about this is inspiring. Are you going to create a costume to go with it 😁. (1900 is my favorite era.) Take a break and relax, you’ve earned it. ❤
That's the plan!
Ooh 👀 intriguing
Thank you! ^_^
How exciting!! This is so cool, Kirilee!
Thank you!
This is exciting. I like writing in my spare time. When I write though and go to edit, the story completely changes. Once you publish I’d love to read your book! It’s awesome that you did it!!! Congrats!!!
Thank you so much hun!
Perfect timing, I'm gearing up for a Cosplay comp in August and I had my first novel come out last month! Looking forward to seeing more of your writing path!
Thank you so much! What is the name of your novel?
So cool! Congratulations Kirilee! I really hope it gets published, because I'd love to read it :D
Thank you! I do hope it can one day get published
Omg this is so exciting!!!! I will def be ordering it whenever it comes out!! 🎉🎉
You are far too kind. I’m still a fair way off from that still hahaha
@@KirileeCosplay your inspiration for even starting it and based on some actual history sounds really cool. I think it will be well worth the wait. Its awesome to have another creative outlet
Congrats and well done! Them feels of just going "holy smokes, I wrote and entire-ass book" are pretty amazing. I'm a fellow writer, primarily fantasy because of course. Love the premise of your book though, historical Australiana is a vibe.
Thank you so much and congratulations to you too!
This is so cool! I always wanted to write a novel. Thanks for taking us along your journey as a writer!
Thank you so much for watching and the comment! You should give it a go!
I'm so proud of you! You brought me motivation to continue planning my own book and i hope yours will get published!
I hope so too! Good luck!
I think I need to go back and pick up my own novel in progress....
Do it!
Congratulations on your book, if you get published you will have to tell us what your pen name is. ❤
Will do! If I end up using a pen name :)
Ahh! I can't believe you busted an entire novel AND EDITS out that quickly! It's like nanowrimo plus 😅
Huge congrats though; I'm a nonfiction writer and I know how immensely gratifying it feels to complete such a huge project 💚
Thank you! I am so glad you understand!
I'm excited to hear when you finish and i would love to read it ❤
You've inspired me to get back to reading again
Aw I am so happy!
Congrats! ^_^ Your writing videos are going to be very handy for me because I finished writing the first draft of my first novel 16tth June last year (which took me almost a year, started on 27th July 2022...). I am working at a snail's pace with my editing though, haha. In my defense, it's over 260,000 words long, 500+ pages in Word... I've been spending time reading other books to help with the editing process because I overcame a decade long writer's block, so I'm a little rusty. I used to write all the time as a kid and as a teenager, so I'm happy I'm able to get back into it again. I look forward to your writing journey as well. :)
That is one heck of a novel! Well done and I wish you the very best
congratulations and well done :)
Thank you!
I have in fact attempted to write, my most complete work was a script for a play and I’ve written a few vignettes some of which are likely floating around the internet somewhere.
Thats cool
I think I'm legally obligated to say that my mom is my favorite author, even if she writes children's books and I'm a fair few years beyond being in that age group. As for reading I mainly end up reading comic books from the library and some fan fiction online right now, although a friend of mine is working on his own novel and has offered me a chance to read a draft of it. All but a tiny selection of my books are packed away in storage and have been for a few months at this point and I can't wait to have the space and time to get them back onto shelves.
I think I'll have to follow your lead and ask my friend if I can print off a copy of his book so I can read through it properly, for some reason I just can't read longer pieces of work on my computer but if it's on paper I'll be just fine.
I know the feeling! I struggle to read large documents from the computer, but it was certainly easier to read on paper.
Congrats
Thanks!
