    As a Chinese, I say we respect Israel a lot, almost all Chinese do. Not because anything else, but because you Israelis are real tough!!! Not everyone can beat an alliance of 4 to 6 nations single handedly, not to mention all those nations are much bigger than you. You are such a tiny country, but your achievements in warfare, economy, wealth, science and culture parallel even some of the largest empires on earth.
    BTW, WTF is a CHINESE JEW?!?!?!?!?!?!

    I htink it's wonderful that Kaifeng's Jews are making Aliyah, but I wonder ifit's right to "convert" them to Ashkenazi customs? They're being taught to eat, sing, dance and say Hashem's praises according to "modern orthodox" which is Ashkenazi-centered. The Kaifeng Jews are thought to have been Persian in origin, but they're not being taught Persian-Jewish customs.
    Being a Jew doesn't mean dressing in black and eating farfel.

    • @yumiv2744
      @yumiv2744 Před 9 lety +1

      Why do you need a DNA test? When people go out from Egipt they had different DNA, when they go out from Israel had more different DNA, when they go out from the other countries they were go (because were in war or something) they had different even more different DNA. So jewish can have whatever DNA, what's your problem?
      In fact, do you know jewish people have at least 3 diferent kinds of genotype? So if their family mixed their DNA with other since a lot of years, they can have even a rare DNA no seen before.
      Do you are a genetist or something? Do you have test to say who is jewish? Do you decide who is jewish because you found a gene that says how many "jew" or "muslim" or "evangelist" are you? Do you have a quimic reaccion that say who is jewish like a test pregnancy? Please, don't be such a Mengele.

    This is really a beautiful story and I think it has the potential for something more. Unfortunately, based on Zionist racial hatred, I fear these people will have a difficult time being accepted and assimilated. I must add that not all Jews are racist or Zionist and I believe those whose belief is Orthodox do have a very strong spiritual character and great compassion for others deep down. With that aside, this is still a beautiful story. Thanks for posting.

The ones in Gaza and West Bank, are unfortunately not, as they pose a threat to the Israeli civilians and mainly Jews. But you have to remember 20% of Israel are Arab and have full rights. In West Bank and Gaza they have their own governments and get lots of aid from Israel.

    Jews have been living in China since at least the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The Kaifeng Jewish community first arose sometime during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). There is plenty of information on this. See 1) "Survival of the Chinese Jews" by Donald Leslie 2) "Mandarins, Jews and Missionaries" by Michael Pollak 3) "Jews in Old China" by Sidney Shapiro 4) "The Jews of Kaifeng" by Xu Xin , etc. These are only a few of the books and papers on the subject. Interesting reading.

    The Khazars are descendants of the 10 lost tribes, and also the European Jews are a minority of the Jewish people.
    Today most of the Jews are from Arab countries, but the Jews that predominate in the country are the Jews of Europe.
    Jews = the tribe of Judah, of if you know that the Pathans are from the tribe of Efraim?

Rarely foreigners have converted to Judaism and Jews were isolated in many places especially Europe. There is no surprise that without a distinct country, the Jews are confused to be part of the local populations to where their ancestors were exiled. Thanks for your fervent enlightenment.

    @williameva There are 56 ethnicities in China including the majority Han. And in each ethnicity there seems to be more subdivision incl the Hans too of course. The borders ancient China shared with so many other countries as well as because of the silk route from Xian to Rome, it also means different peoples mingled and intermarried in those days. FYI, among the minority ethnicities who are "Chinese" in China are Russians,Koreans,Uighurs, etc. Most modern chn I daresay are not pure Han anymore.

    @adiostraitorobama - It's has become somewhat of a custom, for North American Jews to go out for Chinese food on Christmas Eve (probably because they are open on Christmas eve). I imagine that's where the sterotype comes from.

    because many of them are of German descent. Jews that migrated to europe many centuries ago often intermix with the local European (german) inhabitants, thus they have german blood, and german names.

    @klar778, the jews are an ethnic group which share a common religion. This means that the relationship between jews goes beyond just sharing a religion. Jews also share a common ancestry.
