I love it when Ashley giggles, her whole face shows her pleasure. The cabinet looks awesome. Nice job, Doug
The metal cabinet looks fantastic. I am so glad you guys are restoring that for your kitchen.
Ashley, that was a great find on the clothes pin bag. It is very handy that it goes around your waist.
You both are doing a wonderful job. ❤
Just a suggestion, you might want to think about using a 4” rubber kick molding for your metal cabinet…..and instead of gluing or screwing it on use magnets! I hope you like that idea!
The cabinet looks wonderful. I love that you take older discarded things and restore them.
When I've had to hurry up and paint stuff that I washed down I take a hairdryer in an extension cord and dry it it pulls off all the residual moisturizer that a cloth won't.
Great idea!
Doug, nothing is absolutely perfect.. I know you see things others will never notice..patience is the key..
The clothes pin bag is cool..
I converted something similar into a utility sink base. Painted it with fire engine red gloss enamel because I wanted to be diyfferent
I really love the idea of using something old and in disrepair and giving it a new life. Great job!
Look at Ms Ashley modeling that clothes pin bag!! Great job on the cabinet Mr Doug!
Thank you!
Filling in the pitted parts really brought it up to the next level! Smooth. 😎
I don’t know if I would have thought of the felt on the bottom- but it makes perfect sense !!! You don’t want to scratch up the floors … This is going to be so pretty when you’re done ❤❤
You guys always knock it out the park. Especially your idea of the laundry lounge. I’m sure you have started a huge trend with that one ! The bag is a great idea as well!🎉
I knew it was going to look awesome because that is how you guys work. You take old things no one wants and make it beautiful again.
That’s the way God is. He makes it over and cleans it up and makes something beautiful of our lives.
Always amazing me how Doug makes a vintage item look new yet keeping the integrity of the item…looks great ❤️
Don't forget its 60-70 years old . It wouldn't be perfect even if it had never been painted .the odd speck, dimple or ding is just its history . It looks great from here 👍👍👍👍
You’ve thoroughly explained your plans and what you want to get done. I bet there will still be people asking questions about what you’ve already answered
My grandmother had a metal cabinet like that in her kitchen. I love that you bring new life to old things.
The cabinet turned out beautiful! You should be very proud of your job. It was nice to see you both laugh and joke. I've never seen Ashley so happy. 😊
My mother got a cabinet exactly like that one in the early 70s when it was brand new and she loved it. We never had a dishwasher and we all took turns washing dishes by hand. I have literally washed dishes only by hand since my childhood and I am in my 60s now. I can appreciate the drain board feature on that cabinet. You did a wonderful job bringing new beauty to yours. Perfect choice!
Base cabinet looks terrific. Clothes pin bag is over-the-top cool and FUN to boot .. the little things add so much :)
Hey yall, When I used to paint & make fiberglass molds, I had a rolling platform to bring items outside to paint and once painted I just rolled it inside without touching the item. I used 2"x4"'s, plywood & skateboard wheels.
Okay, we can’t see it close up, but that sink base cabinet looks awesome … I can totally see how it would keep the kitchen bright, even though you said subs are saying it’ll be too dark. That sink is “to die for” for those of us who love vintage and washing dishes by hand. Can’t wait to see the whole thing put together -- BUT, that doesn’t mean you need to rush to get to it, just to satisfy your subs. I know you will - but do it right ONCE and you won’t have to fix it later.
Love, love, love your videos ❤❤❤
Love the clothespin bag. So well designed. Smart.! Great pick Ashley . Great job on cabinet too. Love to see things recycled or upcycled .Your home is really coming together and looking beautiful. I can feel your joy that comes with your great accomplishments. I pray all blessings to your family . 😊
If you have some areas that you aren’t happy with try using a buffer with some cutting polish. I spray painted a travel trailer and buffed and polished it it’s cutting polish and it looks amazing.
Every time I see your covered laundry line I want to do that. I showed my daughter it and she thinks I’m crazy. Lol. It’s ingenious
That turnt out Amazing 👏🏽
I don't know how the kitchen is going to end up looking but I know from watching you all, it'll be great. I've seen you all turn an absolute mess into a dream place. I don't know how or where you get your ideas, I do know the end result is always stunning. This is at least the third property I've watched you all renovate.
The sink stand is looking great. I love that shiny white enamel in the kitchen. The clothes pin bag is genius. 😊
The clothespin bag is perfect! Logically speaking, it’s the best clothespin bag I’ve ever seen. The traditional ones are obsolete comparatively. Great choice! 👍🏻
I love that old sink. My grandma had one just like it. I had one in the the small house my husband and I rented when we first married.
It looks awesome. I know my opinion means nothing, but it truly looks great. I love things like this.
SEE!!! I knew you could do it!! It turned out amazing!!!! Oh I'm excited to see the drawer fronts and doors finished and to see the whole cabinet installed in the kitchen!! It's going to look fab-u-lous!!!!! 🤩
Love that clothespin, bag Ashley! I use an old Clorox jug but I just might purchase that bag! 😊 Great find!
Thanks! Yea, can't wait to get those doors done and have the whole unit completed :)
My granny used to put her clothes pins in the large pockets of her apron.
I have not seen Ashley in an apron yet!
I love all the other stuff but that clothespin bag is just so perfect!!
It literally looks brand new. You guys are so thorough.
I love vintage metal cabinets and washboard sinks. They are awesome. Had them in an apartment I lived in years ago. I applaud you both for keeping with the age of the house in your updates. I know your kitchen will be to-die-for when finished!!
The metal sink is looking nice! I love the clothespin holder. Perfect to be able to where it like a belt and access the pins as you need them.
Hi sweet family,
Ohhhh yeah baby that sink is way to awesome looking, I LOVE it!!
I never doubted you one bit that you couldn’t make it all new
looking again!! Job well done!!
Shew I do have to say, I love that clothes pin bag also!
It’s going to be so convenient while hanging clothes! Great find!
Stay safe, happy and God Bless ❤
Doug, Ashley is the love of your life. You always put her needs and the kids before your needs.
Sink lookks great on camera. No need for perfection ...its a refinished antique and should have Caracter!!! I love it!!!
Love you guys so much! Excellent pin bag, coming from someone that hangs out laundry. The mesh will let air flow through, also. And the sink base? 😱 Old. Metal. Farmhouse. PERFECT. It's beautiful already! ❤
I’m sure you know this but you guys are so blessed to have one another. You guys work so very well together. What a gem Ashley is. It’s so nice to see a smile on her face! I absolutely love the clothesline & the cute pouch that holds the clothes pens! ❤
The cabinet looks so nice! It looks brand new! I'm anxious to see the sink in it!
The sink looks really good! I sure enjoyed seeing Ashley smiling broadly, I could see her lovely dimples! 😊
Dang, that cabinet looks GOOD now!
I think it’s wonderful how you are restoring the sink cabinet. With the disposable mindset most people have today, it’s great seeing appreciation of older items.
What a great idea for the clothespins.
As always be well, be blessed ❤
The bottom edge of the cabinet is the most exposed to water that gets spilled on the floor. That's where it will rust, as it showed when you got it.
So be sure you treat and paint the bottom surface before you put the foam on!! 😮😊
Yep, that bottom edge was sprayed good before applying the felt :)
I was just opening YT and this popped up!
Just a heads up. Rust Oleum Paint also comes in quart cans. And that way you can mix the paint however thick or thin you wish and with your compressor, you can use a spray gun to apply that type paint as well. That way it allows you to cover large areas like that with a more even smooth finish easier and quicker. Just an idea and money saver as well...
The cabinet looks good! You can’t tell there was any rust at all! Good job!
The cabinet turned out great....ijust love it. It will last another 100 yrs. Hugs
You did a beautiful job on the sink cabinet, so smooth looking with the painting. The bag for the clothes pins is perfect because of the air holes in it if wind blows rain in on it. Also perfect hanging and using it around your waist for easy grabbing. You both do so much good work on the things you bring back to life. Enjoy your videos.
The old girl has a new lease on life. You remind me so much of my parents, guys, in that you see beyond dents, rust, and imperfections. My dad would really love your channel, I think.
I came across your family when you bought the 84 mobile home and didn’t realize you have been on CZcams for 7 yrs wow now I have started from the beginning I’m up to where you bought the 79 mobile home. I’m enjoying your family hi to all ❤ from NC
This project has been fun to watch, it’s looking great 😊 good idea for the clothes pins 👍🏻
That turned out really nice, I've used that exact epoxy paint on a 1985 honda 200atc. I mainly used it to repaint the gas tank, and it's been on there for 6 or 7 years, and it still looks awesome. And you're right about rushing it. You have to give paint time to dry.
Y’all brought back some awesome memories of the house I was raised in!! I use to hide in those types of cabinets!!
Better to use it all up rather keep it around loathe to throw it away. (The Bondo)
Compared to what it looked like in the beginning the cabinet looks great.
It's always nice to see something
refurbished.
Love hearing the light banter between the both of you.
Seeing the both of you smiling and laughing is
heartwarming.
Wouldn't mind seeing more.
The clothes pin bag is perfect. My nieces wanted to know what a clothes pin was. 😊
You guys are very entertaining. I like the tree frog poop proof pin bag.
The cabinet is looking great 👍. I love that clothespin bag !
The metal cabinet looks so smooth and fresh! The bag is perfect for the task!
The cabinet looks great so far It will be good to see it when it's finished and installed. You're right to take your time. I like the clothes pin bag too.
Absolutely correct, Doug. Don’t rush a paint job. I was always told as a young man, there’s never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over. I remember my mom had a clothes pin bag that hung on the line. She would drag it along as she hung laundry. Gosh, that was so long ago.
Some of my best fines were off the curb treasures. In my younger years starting out most of all my furniture was from the curb. Thats all I could afford. Now my kids have those treasures in their houses. Everytime I see them, the good memories of having them brings a smile. I still can't drive pass a good piece of wood furniture.😊
Clothespin bag - elegant in it's simplicity. I don't understand why I never thought of the "fanny pack" approach!
LOVE THAT YOU SAVE THE CABINET. LOOKS BRAND NEW
The sink looks really good. The hard work pays off once again and good choice not to move the sink until it cures. I was worried you were going to try to lift it as you said and leave finger prints. Can't wait to see it all installed. I just love those old metal cabinets and sinks. Great memories!
The sink base looks great ! 👏🏻👍🤩
You can add TSP in your clothes that you have gotten paint on and the paint will come out. Ck. for color fastness.
Love the sink. You need a tent to work in Doug. Just a thought.
Ashley..I love that pun bag. Going to check that out since I too hang clothes out.
That clothes pin bag is so cool! What a great idea! The kitchen sink cabinet looks great!
I watch a channel of a guy that does scrap metal and the other day he picked up some cabinets. They were all vintage metal cabinets and I thought of you all. It was a full kitchen of cabinets and none of them were messed up. He took them straight to the scrap yard I could have cried. It looks great except it is whiter than I remember in the 50's. But hey that was a long time ago and I was young. Great job.
Wow, that is sad. More awesome cabinets gone forever. He'll get only a few dollars for it as scrap metal. If he sold them as what they were he would have gotten thousands of dollars. Scrappers need to learn what items are valuable. It's embarrassing what some of them do. It's cringy.
My parents had a double sink with drain boards on a metal cabinet like this. The cabinet rusted through in the bottom so when they had some work done putting a bump out in their kitchen they had a custom cabinet built and new sink installed. The old sink is now an outdoor potting sink set up so that when mom wants to use water she attaches a garden hose.
The metal sink looks brand new! I'm watching you build and fix things but I'm always amazed at your results, seriously a pro! 👏😃
Don’t rush on our account. But she’s looking good!
You guys are doing great 👍🏼
I’ve been bragging on y’all about the Laundry lounge 😊
Take care
Hi kids👋🏼
That clothespin bag is genius. With that lounge set up, if I were Ashley, laundry time would seem (almost) like fun. 👍👍👍
Don't rush anything, I've all the time in the world to watch your brilliant remodeling jobs. I live in Ireland 🇮🇪 so watching you will shorten the winter for me hopefully ❤🙏🇮🇪
I watch this channel as quiet therapy when overloaded with current events & war updates...
You want it to show a few imperfections. It's a time period piece for a old house. It's absolutely beautiful!!
Your cabinet looks as fresh as new. It’s going to be a pleasure to use.
Looking good. You and your wife are some of the hardest working people on youtube. You take pride in doing a good job.
I was spraying something on my deck and I covered everything with a tarp and cardboard but the overspray sprayed on so many things. That stuff snuck through so many cracks and crevices I’m still finding it! I was thinking of your beautiful window that would end up being covered in spray splatters. The metal cabinet looks fantastic!
That cabinet really came out nice. Reminds me of my grandma's old kitchen in the early 50"s😂
Good job Doug 👍
That’s a great idea for the clothes pins.
I love that clothespin bag. I need one!
The sink cabinet looks awesome!
You may want to consider having a drip pan under your sink plumbing in the cabinet just in case there was ever a leak. I used to store one of my metal mixing bowls right in that spot so that I would know if a slow leak ever started.
Just like with every project y'all do, that sink is going to look fabulous when y'all are finished. Also, I love that clothespin bag. I hang our clothes on a line, too, but I use an apron to put the pins in. But like you said, I still have to go back and forth to fill up my apron (it only holds so much) as I hang up my laundry. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us what you're using. I will definitely purchase one and I think it will be a gamechanger.
Metal cabinet is looking great! 😊
thanks
I don’t know how durable that rattle can paint will be. Maybe you should have tried enamel tractor paint that uses reducer and a hardener. Fairly cheap from tractor supply but you would need a compressor and spray gun. Something to think about.
Your background music is great.
What a great job. I do like the all white cabinet. God Bless and have a wonderful day.😊
For sure all those small details make a huge difference!!! 🥰🎶❤️🍁🇨🇦
No 🐸💩in the 👜! You both make me smile !😄 The sink base looks great and cant' wait to see it in the house put together. But you are right about rushing things sometimes mess up. Thanks for sharing ☺
The sink looks amazing so far… good idea on clothes pin bag 😊
The sink cabinet looks great !!! Can't wait to see it with doors on !!!
I believe what you said about frogs because in our house they like to leave their pretty gifts all around the water fountains and sometimes they jump inside five gallons water buckets don’t know how 👍🏽
Wet sanding might help. Just the visible parts.
I had no idea how you could restore metal furniture. I'm extremely thankful for this video.
you could put a silver metal kick plate over the kick plate area to match handles... easier to keep clean...so far it looks amazing...
Good idea on the felt protection for the floors. And (Lol)😂 No pooping on the pins.😂 Nice job on the metal cabinet. We just painted our kitchen cabinets top/ bottoms my hands are still sore from all the sanding but totally worth it. Can't wait to see your creative process on the kitchen. You 2 always amaze me on your projects. Great job.
