What I was gonna say. My cedars all died & it was the county extension office that came out and assessed it. It’s a fungus & no more cedars or it’s relatives until the soil borne fungi die out. Helpful to know what it was and how to plan.

We've had a lot of ash trees die due to Emerald Ash Bore in mid-Michigan. Since we live in pretty heavily wooded property, about a 1/3 of our trees were ash. We bought an outdoor wood burning boiler and have been using the ash trees to heat out house in the winter since 2015. We have feld many large trees with a chain saw and an ATV with straps, chains and rope to put tension on the trees to fall where we wanted them to. It was fun watching you do what we've been doing for years. My kitten likes to watch your videos. Don't know what the draw is for her. 😻

Doug and Ashley if you have trees that have dead limbs. Please keep the kids from playing under them. Those limbs tend to break off and fall at anytime. There has been kids outside playing and under the trees killed or badly injured from limbs falling on them. I had an old oak tree in my back yard with dead limbs and my aunt came for a visit and we were walking around outside so I told her we couldn't walk under it. It wasn't 5 mins. later that a big limb fell and we could have been killed. Thank goodness we have had it cut down since. It was hallowed out in the center and we had no idea. So all of you be careful. Love to you all!
