  • A bike ride during the hottest day of the summer during rush hour in Chicago.
Between 4-6 pm is the busiest time for traffic. Not everyone gets off at 5!
Check out the scenes as I navigate through Chicago streets, sidewalks, and alleys.
Yes, no bike riding on Chicago sidewalks, but I feel unsafe on the street, I will use the sidewalk at a slow pace and never expect anyone to get out of my way.
    Be safe and enjoy!
    CHICAGO/ THE WINDY CITY/ CHI-TOWN
Located on the shores of freshwater Lake Michigan, Chicago was incorporated as a city in 1837 near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed and grew rapidly in the mid-19th century. After the Chicago Fire of 1871, which left more than 100,000 homeless, the city made a concerted effort to rebuild. The construction boom accelerated population growth throughout the following decades, and by 1900 Chicago was the fifth-largest city in the world. Chicago made noted contributions to urban planning and zoning standards, including new construction styles (including the Chicago School of architecture), the development of the City Beautiful Movement, and the steel-framed skyscraper.
Chicago is an international hub for finance, culture, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. It is the site of the creation of the first standardized futures contracts at the Chicago Board of Trade, which today is the largest and most diverse derivatives market globally, generating 20% of all volume in commodities and financial futures.
O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region also has the largest number of U.S. highways and the greatest amount of railroad freight. In 2012, Chicago was listed as an alpha global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and it ranked seventh in the entire world in the 2017 Global Cities Index. The Chicago area has one of the highest gross domestic products (GDP) in the world, generating $680 billion in 2017. In addition, the city has one of the world's most diversified and balanced economies, not being dependent on any one industry, with no single industry employing more than 14% of the workforce.
The city ranked first place in the 2018 Time Out City Life Index, a global quality of life survey of 15,000 people in 32 cities. The city is also home to several fortune 500 companies, the most notable being, Allstate, Boeing, Exelon, McDonald's, Quaker Oats, and United Airlines Holdings. Landmarks in the city include Millennium Park, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum Campus, the Willis (Sears) Tower, Grant Park (Chicago), the Museum of Science and Industry, and Lincoln Park Zoo. Chicago's culture includes the visual arts, literature, film, theater, comedy (especially improvisational comedy), food, and music, particularly jazz, blues, soul, hip-hop, gospel, and electronic dance music including house music. Of the area's many colleges and universities, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago are classified as "highest research" doctoral universities. Chicago has professional sports teams in each of the major professional leagues, including two Major League Baseball teams.

I appreciate that! I'm trying to get content that people may like. If some may not like one video, then maybe they'll like the next video. I always switch up content.

Welcome back... you had some of the best videos from a year ago. This another great one. Chicago still looking awesome. The negativity on some media that has America so divided to say they will never visit these cities again and label them dead is so sad. WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT extra-high bike at the 34:15 mark? He better watch them tree branches.
Love the walking and driving videos also. Just on a bike ... is another perspective that moves faster and how you can even maneuver the cam that seems above your head even turning it almost 360 allows for quick views behind. Chicago as great urban bones that its added alleys you show is is a bonus and proves they are practical in a urban city adding extra parking... even for bikes and another path for biking with few obstacles vs the street fighting cars. The city having its power-lines run there creates the green unobstructed fronts of these neighborhoods that photograph so well in this city.
How Chicago adds those flowers is second to none. Michigan Ave still looking great and city clean. Add less office workers it does not help. Seems still a lot of tourist were downtown out and about with cameras etc. Look forward to future videos again also. Chicago will be on my list to visit next year hopefully. I do hope our city issues get addressed more... that is so politically polarizing and hurting our cities.

very nice, thank you for showing some residential areas as well...
just wondering though, when there are cuts in the video, does that mean that someone hassled you at that point or something?

No, there were times I pulled over to drink some water and take a little break. I carry a small cooler with me. I never came across someone who has an issue with me for recording in public. Well, at least not yet.
