  • Michael Hixson of KidSafeInc.com demonstrates the installation and use of the KidCo Spring Action Lock. It is a baby-proofing lock used to keep kids away from the dangerous items in your kitchen or bathroom cabinets. Installs easily and childproofs almost any cabinet or drawer.

Looks like a good option. Mounted to the interior, so no ugly parts on the exterior. Also, uses screws instead of adhesive, so it is more secure and there is no adhesive peeling off the finish if you want to remove it. Sure, a kid can get his fingers into the cabinet, but the fingers will not get trapped and the door doesn't open much, so it will not slam on the fingers.
The previous owner of our house was a mechanical engineer and he used this type of lock.

See but with this one the kids can get their fingers caught in between it still and hurt themselves, I'm looking for one that won't even open enough for their fingers to slip in between

More like a hazard trap to get the kids fingers trapped in the space and hurt them selves
