I think this is great, not only for the G9 but generally for compact cameras! By watching your videos I was able to clean a few lenses myself, even though they were not the same lenses they were similar enough, so I could follow the basic steps. So just you know that your videos are always appreciated!
I have a G9 for more than 10 yrs and use it for my dives up to 10 meters. Last month diving in Batangas, Philippines, my waterproof case cracked and water got in. Dismantling and cleaning the G9 now. Using your video to help my camera recovery. Hope I'll recover it.
Thank you very much for the tutorial, I had been looking for a g9 for months, not finding it in my city I decided to buy it on eBay, it was in very good condition but when I used it I realized that it had a small stain on the sensor, I didn't want to return it but I didn't want to spend it either in a technician, fortunately I came across your video and apparently everything turned out correctly, thank you very much!!! I have some white marks on the front of the main lens. There are some white marks in the inner bit, and they are a bit annoying... I wonder if there's a simple solution for it. G9 is still an amazing camera. I love it.
Hey, if I wanted to remove de IR filter from the sensor, do you think the camera would still work? I just bought this camera and I was thinking about making it full spectrum, but i didnt find any tutorial. Do you think, from the knowledge you have, there is a way to remove the filter?
Well, it’s not a IR filter in front of the sensor, it’s a Low-pass filter. But of course it is possible to remove that filter but then you need to put a IR filter on the front of the camera.
