- In February and March 2013 Crude Apache Theatre Company based in Norwich UK presented a theatrical production of Peter Bellamy's ballad opera "The Transports". The venue was Dragon Hall, a medieval trading hall dating back to 1430. We were very pleased with the show (filmed here by Bert Eke) and we hope you like it too

I just stumbled upon the entire soundtrack while listening to a radio programme hosted by Phil Young on 3MDR.com beaming from the suburbs of Melbourne. Absolutely love Australia's convict history - I'm from India originally now living here. Peter Bellamy is brilliant and I've been reading up on him since. I'm already a fan of Martin Carthy, Swarbrick, The Watersons, June Tabor but it appears they drew from Bellamy's work too. Thanks for putting this. I've poured myself a tall one, put my feet up on my desk and am getting ready for an amazing hour and twelve minutes.
Thank you Pig45Pen! Enjoy!
That's amazing, thankyou Jim.
It was brilliant fun to perform - glad you think we did it justice!

This is so great....am enjoying every minute, every song...smashing production!
Crude Apache: Thank you very much. Framingham Earl Drama Teacher Jocelyn MACK (GCSE Drama Class - "The Surlingham Girl") has allowed me to find your CZcams presentation of "The Transports" by Peter BELLAMY. Since the early/mid-1980s I have had a cassette copy of the folk opera - it spent many years with me in Japan - where I was teaching through most of the 1990s/2000s. It is the story of my great great great grand-parents Henry & Susannah - so of course it has very particular and special resonance. I have spent time on various visits to the UK in the region/locales of their lives: Norwich (Castle Gaol/Museum), Surlingham, Thurlton, Thetford, Alburgh, Mendham, Yoxford, Laxfield, Ubbeston Metfield/Cratfield - and across to Aldeburgh and nearby coastal places which may or may not have some connections, too. Your performance which I have just enjoyed reminds me of so much - and so faithful - to my ear - to Peter BELLAMY's genius. Thank you everyone! Jim KABLE (b. 1949 in Sydney - living 130 kms to the north of Sydney - just to the south of Newcastle)!
Jim, thank you so much! I'm very pleased that you enjoyed this and it's absolutely magic to hear from you!
Thank you so much Jim - Rest assured this will be shared - From a Norfolk gal, still there !
