Laura Okmin: Cam Newton UNCUT

One of the most interesting conversations I’ve had with a superstar athlete on camera. Cam Newton and I sat down during a season Cam told me he was working on his maturation as a leader and a man. The genesis was a video his father put together for him in the off-season and showed him asking his son, “How do you think you represent the name on the back of your jersey?”
That led to an epiphany and this 30 minute conversation about “Superman” taking “Clark Kent” out for a spin. It was such a revealing conversation, we aired it unedited on the website. A very different look at Cam who, at the time, was taking a long look in the mirror.
