Absolutely brilliant to see my old Battalion put on a faultless performance like that. I served 14 years with 1 R Anglian, and every time the band strikes up with the Battalion Quick March, Rule Britannia/Speed the plough, I am immediately full of pride. Well done guys from an old Viking. Stabilis!

The Brigade was comprised of British, Australian and New Zealand infantry Battalions, the latter of which i was a member.

Far too many IRR soldiers ignored the call up, but the ones that showed up did a great job. My National Guard unit was able to field 6 radar sections instead of 5 because of agumentation from the IRR, but these are individuals called up from towns across the country. They may be the only one deploying from that area. They get no send off, no welcome, and their families have no formal support structure. We had one from rural Wisconsin and another from Phoenix. When they had admin problems , we tried to help them, but from a thousand or more miles away, it is not easy.

It's recruiting area follows the route taken by the original regiment under the command of General Monck from Coldstream in the Scottish Borders to London immediately prior to the restoration of the Monarchy.
The other four, even though three (Scots, Irish and Welsh) have national ties with Scotland, Ireland and Wales respectively recruit throughout the Commonwealth of Nations.
